Thanks to fellow Seibertron user, Omegatron, we've learned that UK toy seller, In Demand Toys has repealed the next two releases for Transformers Studio Series, Voyager Class Age of Extinction Galvatron and Voyager Class Bumblebee Thundercracker!
Thundercracker is a redeco of Voyager Class Bumblebee Thrust, and is the second of the Seeker Trio to be released in this style.
Galvatron is a completely new mold, and tries once more to bring the impossible transformation to the toy. In the film, the cgi model never transformed the traditional way, instead breaking into cubes and reforming into its robot mode.
Will you be picking these up?

Honestly, I'm not sure what else they could have done.
Galvatron is one of those toys where a leader class slot may have allowed him to have a closer looking robot mode with more parts of the truck hidden.

Wasn't a criticism, I like they're design ideas, but I agree

Oh I know, I apologise if it came off sounding that way.

At least the ruck cab is better integrated this time.

Galvatron feels like he is very cool figure,he just need more high res/definition pictures to show that.
Day 854 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

That would rock. But i wonder if marketing costs (paying Mountain Dew) would make that figure cost-prohibitive...

Cheetron wrote:I don't know why, but I like the original galvatron better than this one. He just looks wrong. Yes, the backpack seems better than having the cab just be the back piece but... somethings off to me
I do too, as a toy. But the deco here is much better and the kibble is more integrated, rather than just being a flat backpack behind the figure. I think what I dislike here is how obvious all the pins are, he doesn't look like a cohesive robot.

I think they did a solid gold star's worth for the toy.

I’m still not convinced that he isn’t mistransformed - based on where his arms are relative to his head I still think the headlight portions can rotate upwards, bringing his shoulders below his head.
Based on the first picture we got, I’m pretty sure the kibble from the back of the car can rotate up to sit on his back, which is screen accurate and gets rid of the kibble hanging down in bot mode (which we didn’t see in the first picture.
It also appears that the window wings can not slide closer together.
Good to see confirmation that the real and faux tires on the hands combine, and there’s even the saw blades on them!

I'll pick him up for sure! Especially to compare with the original AoE voyager.

It's cool; can't imagine the uproar if this tiny voyager were to come out at the leader price point though, might be a good thing that they switch to a closed box for them

I think the bed might be mis-transformed, if it transforms the way I think it does, the feet split in half, the inner halves fold into the calves and the outer halves are stuck on top, but might fold the other way to be closer to the cab. If they don't, well, it's not like the one screen model counted as a transformer anyway

You were right the first time.
Galvatron looks good, but the AOE One-Step and Power Battlers did a really good job in the first place too.

I am super excited for Galvatron, they definitely tried to engineer this one similar to the UT Nero, and both of them use a good engineering path to make a decent looking bot and truck that actually integrate in some meaningful ways. I am excited.
Thundercracker looks sharp too! It's also funny, he is the 3rd seeker of the mold, 4th if you count Blitzwing sharing engineering but no parts (which I will here), and none of them have been straight redecos. I appreciate that.
Sideways looks better like that, I am excited to see him properly revealed.
Now, where is the Fallen and Bee?!
o.supreme wrote:So if Thundercracker and Galvatron are 89and 90, I wonder what 87 and 88 are? One may be the leaked Sideways? Not sure about the other
the deluxes are rumored to be 86 Arcee, sideways, and DotM Bumblebee.

Doesn't have to be Mountain Dew, just has to sort of look like it.

IMHO, in some cases, SS molds aren't better then previous molds and this is one of those cases.

Can't be helped if they can't get the licence. As for bot mode accuracy, wait for instructions/stock pics first before casting judgement.

It's a retooled Payload figure for Japan's Movie Advance line. It isn't shown in that picture, but the top of the truck is painted up like a vending machine to tie the whole thing together.

I'll wait to see some comparison pics with the original. At the very least it looks a lot easier to stand and pose than the RotF version, that thing had some weak ankles.

Note Seibs used his wheels as heels. Still, I have the Dead End version and it is indeed a balancing act.
Sometimes genericized can't be helped, Audi was a semi-last addition to the lineup, but they only wanted their car featured in the movie, and never had the thought to license it for Sideways' toys.

Totally not a licensed R8, specially the back, but damn if it does not look like a cool and fun toy to fiddle with.

Hasbro had many exclusive SS deco variants not released by TT which caused Hasbro's numbering system to be much higher for a long time. (The first 8 SS releases lined up between both Hasbro and TT, but starting with SS-09 Thundercracker from Hasbro, it became more and more distant with each Hasbro exclusive)
However, Hasbro also used the 86XX system for toys from TF:TM, which TT also didn't follow, but they have released all those toys. Lastly, TT has incorporated the numbering system into SS Core toys where Hasbro did not.
All these events combined have caused Hasbro & TT's SS Numbering system to *almost* realign again
TF:TM Sludge is TT SS-89, which means TT SS-90 will likely be BB Thundercracker, and TT SS-91 be AoE Galvatron , just one number off

Scored big today. I have obtained DotM Ratchet, the final retail SS figure I did not own. I cannot wait to assemble the squads when i can finally unpack the SS guys.

The rereleased High Octane Bee is SS-79. DOTM Bumblebee and Sideways likely have the SS-87/88 numbers
