Also, I was rereading the posts after the Devastator pictures, and despite the mistransformations and the fact that there is so much prototype still in there, there was no negativity about it, which was super refreshing!

They do not. They are essentially 3 legion class figures in a deluxe package

I feel very negative towards Devastator at the moment, but that's only because I'm now on my fourth defective Rampage.

I dunno, but if they're doing this rather than zapping me with lightning or whatever, they're kind of childish. ...So it could be at least half the Greek pantheon.

He's a pretty armey boi in the film which is why I think they went with that.
But yeah SS Soundwave is a little disappointing to see

Joevill was probably referring to the original concept, where all 3 would combine into a Demolishor-styled bot but with 3 sets of wheels.
It received some work in rough models and if the 3rd actual original cycle sister mold had been released in RotF those 3 deluxes would have combined too

That’d be something cool for a third party to pick up on!
I do wish they had gotten the chest on SS Soundwave to compress more, but I still think he looks pretty good. I’ll need to be adding some light blue paint to those speakers ASAP.
Edit: Something kinda unlikely that I’d really like to see is Overload coming with a tiny Simmons figure. I think that’d complete Devastator!

-The Fallen, Leader class (face needs to pop off)
-Skids and Mudflap, legends class (two pack for deluxe price)
-Soundwave and ravage, deluxe class with a small ravage figure
-Demolisher, leader class (white repaint of scavenger)
-Skipjack, voyager class (yellow repaint of rampage)
-Sideways, deluxe class (could be remold of barricade?)
-Sideswipe, deluxe class (remold of the DOTM figure)
-Generic Decepticon bad guy, deluxe class
-Jolt, deluxe class
-Grindor, leader class (repaint and slight upscale [~2in+] of Blackout)
Lastly, I know that this will never happen, but I can and will dream
-6 pack with the other 6 Primes in leader class size (would be a massive ~$300 box set)
I personally think that most of these figures will be made in the future, but I know some are just dreams. That is what I can think of right now, but please let me know if I missed someone or what you think of my list.

They sold Jazz who is super small at a deluxe price so I highly doubt them to be so generous as to give us two toys of his size (or slightly smaller) for that same price of one.

Well Jazz was 15ft and the twins were ~8ft so it would make more sense for them to be about half the height of Bumblebee or Jazz. It would be a case like with the Arcee triplets deluxe size. Plus, I want to be able to have Bumblebee pick them up and smash them together like he did in ROTF.

The only thing missing on this list would be a slight remold of 2007 Bumblebee, and the appliancebots.
EDIT: And ice cream truck Skids & Mudflap!

I really think they will go the Arcee route with the Twins if they make them. They are tiny, and would do best as a pair. They would also be in scale seeing as they are pretty small.
I want them too, They need to get eaten by Devastator and headsmacked by Bee

I really like the color scheme too, I just wish they had included the ROTF gun/claw that he has on the ride. If I do end up at Universal again at some point, I think I’d pick this Megatron up.

Technically, wouldn't that be a toy of Chromia and not a toy of Elita-1?

Yeah, but only because of its deco and name, when it was clearly sculpted to be Elita.Zeedust wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Or colored as Chromia, in the case of Robot Heroes Chromia using Elita's base design.william-james88 wrote:This is also, notably, the first time Elita-1 will be represented in toy form with her own screen and vehicle accurate robot modes- all her previous toys were recolors of either Chromia or Arcee.

I would rather they'd gone with a voyager size set and incorporated the combiner mode that ended up not being used.
Now if you give me a Movie Arcee based on the Bumbleebee movie, I'll be right there at the front of the line for picking her up.

Honestly, they killed the movie 1 cast. Optimus, Ironhide, and Jazz are fantastic! Ratchet is OK, and we need to see how the new Bee does, but they did really good with the Bots

You could say that about a lot of lines too. I have recently discovered how much fun both Beast Wars and Unicron Trilogy figures are. There are some damn fun things in those lines. And this is the same, Studio Series has provided us with some great figures.
I would argue Studio Series has provided a better, more varied lineup than any other line recently. The number of movies and variety of designs covered and covered pretty damn well in most cases is great.

Original was also during the RotF peak era of movie toys, and also didn't have to combine, as a leg supporting 6 other figures.
they are the same character but doing 2 very different things. It's like comparing universe Onslaught to combiner wars Onslaught. same character, 2 very different engineering goals and time periods

That is a very good point D-Max, it would have been interesting to see how this would have been achieved (without doing what the supreme Devesator did) back at that point, especially given the quality of other molds we got back then.
Posted by Sabrblade on November 7th, 2019 @ 9:32am CST
Sadly, I doubt Hasbro would have even tried making a fully-transformable-and-combinable large ROTF Devastator back then since Aaron Archer was so averse to the idea of making full-blown large-sized combiners, hence why...ZeroWolf wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:william-james88 wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:All the studio constructicons have been pretty great! A) The Energon combiners were smaller-scaled
B) Supreme Devastator was made the way it was
C) The Legends class Devastator was a Takara-initiative (and still a small-scale combiner)
D) The Power Core Combiners were small and had drone limbs
E) FOC Bruticus was such a halfhearted attempt at a larger-scaled combiner (consisting of only Deluxes, even), and
F) Combiner Wars didn't come about until after Warden and Friends succeeded Archer and Friends

In fact, TFWiki's GoBox for Archer's article jokingly says "NO!" instead of "GO".

Aaron's team not really delving into gimmicks and depending on your views Warden's team being overly G1 although I feel that's more of a trying to pull themselves back after the sort of flukes that were the movies and the aligned continuity.
Posted by Sabrblade on November 7th, 2019 @ 9:53pm CST
They most certainly did. They were the brains behind the Unicron Trilogy lines (Mini-Con activation gimmicks, Energon stars, Autobot Powerlinx, Decepticon Hyper Modes, Cyber Key activation gimmicks), the first three movie lines (Automorph, Mech Alive, MechTech), the Animated toyline (the Automorph gimmick of the first Movie line carried over into a number of this line's figures), the Power Core Combiners line (a gimmick in and of itself), and the Prime toyline (Deluxe class "Revealer" gimmick, Voyager class "Powerizer" gimmick).Deadput wrote:Aaron's team not really delving into gimmicks
