Alex Milne wrote:well this was a special cover i got the chance to work on. The owner of the comic shop i go to asked me if i was interested in doing a cover for and store exclusive book. this was something that we had talked about many times in the past but there hadn't been a transformers one to do....until now
the owner pitched the idea to me about doing a cover, but was unsure about doing it since he wasn't aware about where the books fit into the main stories. i asked what books he was offered a cover for. he mentioned a G.I.Joe one, then a tf comic about megatron. i was like ok.....then i was like, wait, what, megatron? do you mean spotlight megatron? then i was like OMG i want to do that
so after a discussion that day, i came up with some roughs. the owner and i went over them, and then i whipped up the cover. it was a blast to do. i love drawing this design of megatron. i know its not the most loved design, but i do enjoy drawing it. i added the store logo in the bottom cover plus a couple extra decepticons that i knew the owner liked it was a joy to work on
so this will be a store exclusive comic. i will have a few copies that people will be able to get from me at the various conventions i will be at, but other then from me, stadiums comics will be the only place you'll be able to get this cover of the book
here is a like to there store [link]
here a link to there facebook for the in store signing i will be doing [link]
the fabulous colors were provided by the ever so talented Josh Perez. i think he out did himself on this cover. it really turned out well
it was a joy to work with him on this project. i always wished when i was working on the ongoing comics that i would have gotten to do an issue or 2 with him.
i love all the textures he has going on in the image.
well , back to work for me
enjoy

Or maybe give a whirl at being Whirl.

What do you not know?
As for the comics, yes, you really should. The storytelling in both current ongoing series is excellent. And there's ReGeneration One if you're more attached to the older continuity and style. Something for everyone, in my opinion.

Oh right. I thought it was in response to DAYUM.
Because that cover is pretty DAYUM. So you're not allowed to know whether it's DAYUM or not.
Because it is. DAYUM, I mean.

How many duplicate playback symbols have you ever seen on a tape recorder?!?

Don't know what Soundwave you're looking at: I'm seeing rewind, fast forward, play/pause, and stop. It appears his aesthetics are similar to Music Label Soundwave, which has a similar button layout.

As far as I remember, it's Nick Roche.
There was something on the news here about his Twitterfeed or similar.
EDIT: Found it, it's his blog: http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/spotlight-megatron-coming-in-february-2013-t90865.php

Cheers Va'al, I remember that preview image now. It will be good to have Roche back on the internal pages instead of just covers. Looking forward to it.

Mindmaster wrote:Never really read the comics, but looking at this cover... Hasbro better make a damn toy out of that in the future.
I wish hasbro or a 3rd party company would make all or at least some of the characters in idw comics because they are some of the best looking versions of the characters. Also some of the characters are drawn the way their generations figure looks like drift, blurr, warpath and in the ongoing series all the seekers were drawn like mp-03. You should really check the comics out great art work and story

While I do really like Megatron's design, I don't like it as a Megatron design.

In my case, I can't access it. I have no smart phone, tablet or adaptor on my electronic devices, and I prefer not to read things on screen, if I can.
So nothing wrong with it, I just prefer print.
(A lot of writers and artists actually do, though! Duncan Fegredo, Mike Carey, Jock, among others, have all told me how they love the possibilities of digital creation, production and distribution. The industry, however, did take a while to realise that digital is a viable solution, rather than the end of the comicsverse.)

Ya that's all I read is digital now and I really like it.

I read the brief El Duque included with this image, but I'm a little confused as to when this story takes place. I don't know why but I thought this was going to take place many, many years in the past. But then Megatron's got his more recent body. Can anyone shed more light on this, please? Which comics does this Spotlight fall between?
