King Poseidon, which is standing in all his glory at the ACGHK event in Hong Kong, is finally revealed in full, along with all of his individual members. The full combined mode confirms for us that at least Overbite will have a gun and limb mode, and while we cannot confirm that the other limb bots will have weapon modes at this time, we can speculate that all 5 limbs will have gun modes.
We also get a good look at the individuals in robot and beast mode, with Turtler from Hun Gurr, Overbite appearing to be a Rippersnapper retool, Kraken a Cutthroat, Lobclaw and Gulf both retooled from Blot, and Tentakill... well, we're not sure, but it is possible Tentakill is a new mold.

I hope to primus and all that is is righteous and holy that his joints are all tight enough to handle the weight of these new figures, because, oh man, hungurrs' were not

Damn but they look awesome. It just figures that of all the G1 combiner teams, the Seacons would end up as exclusives, though, doesn't it? Somebody should photograph them with Noisemaze Mass Production Ver. and the BotCon Sweeps.
I've had more issues with the smaller Terrorcons' hip joints than with Hun-Gurrr himmself, at least so farHellscream9999 wrote:The be all, end all combiner wars gestalt, in all his premium glory

Forget the torso joints, there is no way his arm is holding up the gun. It's a good thing I like Overbite, because it seems like he'll be an individual in order to not destroy one of his team mates joints.

Honestly, they all seem sick enough to have one be on their own, I'm concerned about has/tak charging for all the new hands and feet, and then the combined mode won't even be able to hold up this leg - like abominus

I mean, that's nothing a tiny bit of paper towel can't fix, but hungurr's crappy shoulder ratchets? No way, bum shoulders are permanent cuz hasbro pinned his entire body together, so you can't mod or fix it, which means, he can barely stand on his own, let alone strike a pose

Yes, we've already seen one of them
Plus, they're all retools of pre-existing PotP molds, so the robot modes have to be retained:
Turtler/Snaptrap: Terrorcon Hun-Gurrr
Gulf/Skalor: Terrorcon Blot
Kraken/Seawing: Terrorcon Cutthroat
Overbite: Terrorcon Rippersnapper
Lobclaw/Nautilator: Terrorcon Blot(?!)
Tentakil: hard to make out, gimme a moment on that (or get me a shot from the back)

This close up of his hidden robot mode chest resembles no existing CW/Potpie Deluxe mold's robot chest.

Which is pretty odd, but I'd still like to see the reverse, or where the Combiner peg swings out from.

Hooray for King Poseidon being an Abominus retool instead of a Predaking retool.
Snaptrap looks like a good use of the Hun-grr model.
Seawing reusing Cutthroat is a creative choice. Seems obvious now, but would not have thought of it before.
Overbite reusing Rippersnapper's mold. That one was so obvious you'd expect it from the start.
I think Sinnertwin's mold may get a turn as a Seacon too. We'll wait and see.

Interesting to note is that they come with 2 extra hands to attach to the back of the feet similar to some of the POTP combiners. Does that mean we'll be getting 5 hands due to the 5 limbs? And also, aren't they not switchable between sides?
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on July 28th, 2019 @ 12:07am CDT
Probably for stability. The 5mm peg by itself would be about as reliable as the Alternators-type peg on Sparkdrinker in this situation.Jtprime17 wrote:Tentakil looks like it's possibly from the Moonracer mold. Interesting how the combiner port slides into the top of the combiner hand for targetmaster mode.

I know there is technically a grip, but it still looks off. I think a bigger guard would help it look better, along with maybe a thicker blade overall.

My guess (and hope) is that four come with hands and maybe the fifth comes with something extra, or is Tentakill and is still the same price as the other due to all the mass that goes into the head.

That would make sense. Though, I'm thinking maybe the fifth would be Overbite, and he'd come with a sorta stand for gun mode or at least something to stablize it

I don't see why not, as the parent molds of the 5 limbs had that feature. The weapon modes may be nothing more than sticking some guns into the back end of the beast modes and swinging out the Combiner peg...Except for Tentakil. He's the hardest to figure out, but if he's similar in design to the Moonracer/Novastar mold, it's just reversed

But that's because, along with 2 Deluxes ($20 x 2), it's made with 4 Voyagers ($30 x 4) and 2 Leaders ($50 x 2).
Plus, SS Devy is made of 8 figures, compared to Piranacon's 6.
Value wise, Devy may be much more worth it.
But King Poseidon is looking awesome, and I will be keeping a close eye on this release.

Can't be any worse than my Elita 1. She's the TF definition of a loose woman. Her combiner is being held together by wire/pipe cleaners, and the only way she can stand upright is to lean against the wall. I got all the girls, but it was hardly worth it.
If this is part of the SELECTS line, wouldn't this be a online order? Wouldn't it make more sense to sell these like PW Devastator - an all in one set? Two hands and two feet instead of three extra hands that have to be contended with?

Also, judging by the torso detailing on Tentakil, it looks like they're cutting out the middleman with the inevitable Scylla retool by making him female (or possibly just a very feminine male). Which honestly doesn't bother me in the slightest, somehow.

What plays a factor is that Devie's cost is spread out over 1 and a half years, while we don't know the spread for King Poseidon yet, and whether or not Hasbro will offer it all. Like TakaraTomy can choose what to release so can Hasbro.

I've got Redwing arriving on Wednesday and he'll be my 5th of that mold. I should be 7 deep by the end of August when ever Thundercracker and Skywarp arrive. It is a really good mold. I have Screamer and the Rainmakers. They made a great adjustment to the chest panel between Starscream and the others, which was really the only flaw in my mind on that mold. I don't mind the legs under a jet and shell forming nature of the jet mode.
I already have a classics seekers collection of 11, and one by one the Siege versions are going to push the classics ones onto ebay. My Henkei Seekers Aces and Universe Acid Storm are going the be the first to go.
