This show looks way more exciting than Prime ever was, and almost as fun as Rescue Bots is.

it looks better than i had anticipated. animation looks smoother, villains look more interesting albeit a bit wacky (decepticon with antlers lmao). looks like the decepticons are now predacons. dont really know how thats gonna work considering we already have them in the same universe as something completely different.

Nowhere was it said that Decepticons in this continuity can't have beast-based altmodes. Plus, the toy for Underbite shows that his beast form is his robot mode, while his altmode is vehicular.

im just not used to the change. the only cons i remember with beast forms was arachnid the insecticons, and the predaking. its not really a bad thing. i love the ideas of beast modes

I can never keep track of shows when they're on Cartoon Network, I hate the way that channel schedules things.

Wish the Hub wasn't getting canned.

It's ok but I'm not really liking the human kid, the orange minicon's lack of legs and the fact he looks too much like Rung (i dont hate Rung i just want his look to be unique) sounds like a cool guy though, Sideswipe's anime hair and the fact Grimlock is green.

The animation is also kinda meh but besides that i like how the show is at the moment.

Cartoon Network has never been good to Transformers. Between killing Animated, burying Cybertron, and the rush-job dubbing disasters that were Armada and Energon, I'm not sure I'd get attached to this one.

Not to mention that Cartoon Network hasn't been kind to action cartoons in general in the last few years.

Is there any word on if/when Rescue Bots is actually coming back?

According to the panel at BotCon, Season 3 airs this Fall (despite two episodes of season 2 having been skipped and still remain unaired).

Maybe in the continuity sense, but in spirit and execution it's looking more like Animated/Rescue Bots.

It's fall. Can we have some more info? (And are plans still the same after the fall of the Hub?)

Speaking of those two episodes, anyone know what the deal is with that?

And is anyone else expecting RiD and Rescue Bots to stop trying to maintain continuity with each other now that they're on separate networks?

Whoa-oh! Looks WAY better then the teaser we got at Botcon(?).

The Dinobot looks interesting, clearly is a Godzilla homage, but still is kewl.

The Decepticons are very interesting looking.

Judging by the trailer, we have a Cybertron Snarl homage and what I'd suspect to be a Rippersnapper homage. It'd be awesome if they introduced some classic characters/homages like them.

Why would a network change matter when they're both still being made by the same studio?

After all, Prime season 1 briefly aired on Vortexx, which ran the CW, a different network.

While I usually prefer cell based animation this has the same soft look as animated which turned me off from the show. While I remember how CN handles shows that it has no vested interest in, Cybertron for example, they are good with their on demand channel which is how I plan to check out RID.

No, the purple-blue wolf character seen at 0:34.

My only complaints would be Sideswipe's "hair" and the voice actress for Strongarm, just sounds really whiny. I have a feeling the character is going to get real old, real fast.

The cartoon may be okay in the long run. Like every TF show it may have to grow on some, like Animated did for some, and Prime for others. My concern is them going back to CN! They have always screwed with every single cartoon they air. Moving times around constantly, or for most just stop airing them altogether. Look at Animated, whether you liked it or not. Be honest in answering how it felt (for those who wanted it) to buy 2 seasons, then wait what, like 5 years to get the 3rd season which only was released as a complete pack first and then later as a separate season by a completely different company. Go Shout! Factory!!!! Anyway, I'm willing to bet we get the shaft again in one of these previously mentioned asinine ways by CN. Take a company you invest in (HUB) and change it back to what it was, so you can go back to the way you did business before (CN)! What then wait a little bit, get screwed by CN again then change and go back to the HUB again! When will you learn your lesson, CN may be a "boys" channel by ratings, but there are plenty of little girls, and women in this franchise who want to see the shows too. So moving it back to a screwed up company just because it is a "boys" channel is stupid and I'd think somewhat offensive. But more offensive is if we get screwed for another 5 years just for the last season of this show.
On a different note, will it be shown on hubnetwork.com like the others have been or will it be on CN's site? or just on TV? If anyone knows yet!

I doubt it. Sideswipe is a more likely romantic interest. The classic old clean-cut smart girl falling for the charming rogue. Oldest romantic setup in the book. Bleck.

The animation looks like a mix of whenever The Armada Trilogy switched to CG with the curvy TFA aesthetic. Cell shaded CGI at 12 frames per second is not what I was expecting.

To be fair, didn't the Hub significantly cut down season 3 of Prime, relying on a dvd movie to (sort of) type up the loose ends?

That frame-rate is a little jarring to me, as well as making it look like limited animation (characters freezing while talking, extreme pose to extreme pose, etc.).

I do, however like the fact that the Cybertronians are actually using automatic weapons, now. Well, at least Strongarm is. Is that even her name? Anyway, I like that. The one shot fusion laser weapons they used in Prime kind of annoyed me. It didn't take away from the experience, but it was an annoyance.

I just wasn't pleased with the way the series ended, and I thought that more time could have aided them. I felt the Predacon/Beast Hunters focus really limited the possibilities of season 3, as well as changed the focus and pushed some plot lines to the back burner.

I also thought there were a lot of loose threads left over, even after the movie (Soundwave, Airachnid, Shockwave, Megatron, Predaking and the Predacons etc.). If these are addressed down the road in RID then I will stand corrected.

Yeah, to be fair, Hasbro did drop the whole Beast Hunters thing on the showrunners at the eleventh hour, forcing them to put season 2 on fast forward in order to hastily wrap up their three-to-four years' worth of story material in one season, just to make room for the new Beast Hunters ordeal in season 3, which, while still entertaining, did feel more like a distraction from the main plot and only put in to satisfy the toymakers and, once it was done, was put aside to let the original plot get back on course to complete itself properly.

Preds Rising, however, came from a desire to do more once they they were done, as a last hurrah of sorts.

Now that you mention it, some elements of season 2 did seem rushed. I would have liked a longer conflict for Dreadwing, or to keep Hardshell as a nemesis for Bulkhead and become the Decepticons' heavy hitter.

Well, I can respect that they tried to fix some of the problems caused by editorial mandate. Still, they did leave a lot in the wings, which made Prime as a whole feel incomplete.

I'd like it if RID continues on with some of these loose threads. But what I've seen seems more like a soft reboot with a different focus and tone. I guess only time will tell.

The trailer makes me hopeful - I've never been a fan of this kind of animation, but I can definitely warm up to it if we see some good character development.

This has potential!

I do hope we see some more traditional Decepticons though - I'm OK with the occasional beast, but a pack of wild animals is not how I like to imagine the Decepticon ranks.

I wonder if any Decepticon combiners will be in this series? I like the look of the figures they have shown for next year. If they add some in here it would set them up for figures latter on. I really would like to see an updated Predaking and Abominus. I know we have the Prime super mini Abominus, but I'm not even going to count it in this post, because combined he is smaller than Prime Soundwave.

I agree about the Cons. While beast bots are cool, they often seem less impressive engineering wise. With several exceptions, a lot of them just stand up and swap heads (Prime Preds).

It just hit me, both shows called Robots in Disguise appear to have Autobots facing down against beast-cons.
