If I'm not mistaken, one of the official reps at a recent convention essentially said that whilst everyone colloquially refers to it as S3 (and I imagin that's more what itll feel like in terms of plotlines), in official terms it's technically the latter half of S2.

HA! I knew season 2 couldn't just be half the amount of episodes as season 1, wonder what will happen now. This could end up being a pretty decent show if it has 4 full seasons of ~26 episodes each :-?

The only thing I took away from that short answer is that there will be "more episodes in the fall", what they are ultimately categorized as is still unknown. As some have stated, I hope SDCC sheds some more light on what is to come.

I don't get to toot my horn usually ever...but I have to say... called it! --on these new episodes being a continuation of season 2, and NOT season 3....That's not to say there wont be a season 3...but season 2, like season 1 will most likely have 26 episodes (so we are currently getting 14-26 of S2) :APPLAUSE: .

Also the news it is coming so quickly, at least in Canada, several websites should have it able to stream shortly after its broadcast this Saturday.

Looks like Ryan/Seibertron finally got his wish in today's episode of Rescue Bots with there being an enemy Cybertronian in this one (albeit, a Mini-Con rather than a Decepticon).

And it was another crossover with RID as the Mini-Con was a Cyclone and Sideswipe guest-starred.

With Sideswipe aware of what Cyclones are, this episode would logically have to come after the six RID shorts that formally introduced the Cyclones, as the second short had him unaware of what Cyclones were and needing to be told about them by Drift's Mini-Cons.

Additionally, Sideswipe sarcastically comments on both "Roll to the Rescue!" and "Power Up and Energize!" in regards to Bumblebee's own attempts to find a catchphrase, so this still takes place before the RID season 1 finale. Yet, Sideswipe also comments on the Bee Team's GroundBridge malfunctioning as though it's malfunctioned more than once before, meaning this episode must also come after at least both "Deep Trouble" and "The Champ".

Based on this, here's an update to the proposed RID season 1/RB season 4 timeline that I previously posted:

Pilot (Part 1)
Pilot (Part 2)
Trust Exercises / New Normal
More than Meets the Eye / Bridge Building
W.W.O.D.? / Arrivals
As the Kospego Commands! / Plus One
Collect 'Em All / Back to Virtual Reality
True Colors / Vanishing Returns
Rumble in the Jungle / Ghost in the Machine
Can You Dig It? / Enemy of My Enemy
Adventures in Bumblebee-Sitting! / Mayor May Not
Hunting Season / All Spark Day
Out of Focus / Part-Time Heroes
Sideways / The More Things Change... / The More Things Stay the Same
Even Robots Have Nightmares / Hot Rod Bot
Some Body, Any Body / King Burns
One of Our Mini-Cons Is Missing / Pizza Pi Party
Uninvited Guest
Deep Trouble /
The Champ /
Knock, Knock! / The Power of Dibs / Back and Forth / The Tragedy of Slipstream / A Level Playing Field / Two Plus Two Equals More
The Need for Speed
The Trouble with Fixit
Lockout
Similarly Different
The Buzz on Windblade
Ghosts and Impostors
Battlegrounds, Part 1
Battlegrounds, Part 2

Also, the latest episode of Robots in Disguise, "History Lessons" (whether it's considered season 2 episode 14 or season 3 episode 1), aired on Teletoon in Canada today. No idea if any Canadians recorded it or will upload said recording onto the Internet or not, though.

American fans have been enjoying the luxury of having the recent animated series Robots in Disguise on paid subscription service Netflix for a while, but as of recently their British counterparts can enjoy the same - half of Season 1 has been uploaded to Netflix in the UK, with likely the rest of the series coming eventually. So any British fans that have Netflix and have been wanting to give the recent series a shot, now's your chance!

I'm actually interested in the RiD crossovers on Rescue Bots. Not that I'm really keeping up on that show, but I quite enjoy seeing Rescue Bot takes on RiD designs. Now, while I'm done with school, I'm in dire need of some "History Lessons". Canadians, help us out.

PrymeStriker wrote:I'm actually interested in the RiD crossovers on Rescue Bots. Not that I'm really keeping up on that show, but I quite enjoy seeing Rescue Bot takes on RiD designs.
What was really cool, design-wise, in this crossover is that Bounce (the Cyclone Mini-Con who appeared in the episode) was not only the same body-type as Ransack and Backtrack, but had a character model that literally looked like it was lifted straight out of the RID cartoon's art style. If he were to ever appear on RID, he'd virtually look exactly the same as he did on Rescue Bots, much like how Soundwave looked practically identical to his Prime cartoon design when he showed up in RID! Multi-show design synergy!

Though, on the other hand, Sideswipe's design was rather... unique, compared to his RID cartoon model. While his general look and silhouette were the same, he had a windshield design on his robot mode chest, which is odd considering how his RID cartoon model has his chest instead formed from his car hood. Even more inexplicable is that Sideswipe's Rescue Bots toy also has his car hood forming his robot chest, with the windshield ending up on the toy's back. Furthermore, Sideswipe's altmode in Rescue Bots looked to be based more directly on his RID cartoon altmode design, instead of his RB toy's altmode (which looks a little different from his RID cartoon altmode). So while Bounce got a design that looks (or would look) the same across both shows, Sideswipe instead got some artistic liberties for his RB cartoon design.

Watched S2E14, which makes sense... as most seasons typically have 26 episodes (I know there are some exceptions such as Prime S3 but...) and Decepticon Island just seemed like a mid-level event, not so much as an epic season finale should feel...

Anyway History Lessons was ok... I liked The idea of going back to the old base from TF Prime...would have been nice if Fowler was there as a cameo/tour guide...but oh well you cant have everything.. cant wait to see more and perhaps get a real perspective as to how much time has passed between Prime & RiD...

Also and It may be just me but...although Prime & BB have made regular cameos on RB since the beginning, I believe this is the first time another show character (Sideswipe) has appeared. I know fans of RB don't want to admit it...but I am strongly feeling S4 will be the end...and that is nothing to be ashamed of. The show had a good run...more episodes than any other series to date. It may be a subtle way of transitioning kids from RB to RiD, though my son has already moved on...I'm pretty sure if I told him S4 was the end, he would finish it out of respect for what he started when he was 5 ;) .

Indeed, and that's what I find interesting to see.

Meanwhile, checked out "History Lessons". It was pretty good, but I think I'm a little more open to this being season two rather than season three, because this episode didn't particularly feel like a premiere. Alas, that makes "Decepticon Island" a little odd.

Twould be a "mid-season climax event", then. Or the end of the season's first story arc.

History Lessons was nice.

I'm still really uneasy about the desert/winter camos being shameless to-sell-toys things. I mean I get it, every Transformers series does it; but this just seems especially obnoxious, even more than Armada's Powerlinx 'upgrades'.
Also the base was attacked by Decepticons and Bumblebee went to hide? What? Wasn't the whole point in TFP that the base was hidden and that when it was found at the end of Season 2 it was a massive game-changer because the Decepticons immediately blew the hell out of it?
And I certainly don't recognise those defence systems from TFP...

Otherwise, great episode. I liked Paralon, the callback to Wheeljack's first appearance is nice; and I like that Buzzstrike appears to be a combination of a Targetmaster and an Armada-esque Powerlinx power-up Mini-con, which I really like. That's what the Aligned continuity (though it seems a joke to call it that anymore) is all about after all, right? Melding together aspects of previous series to make something new and entertaining.

Pretty sure he was talking about some offscreen event that we never saw in Prime, possibly set before the show's beginning in the time when there were Decepticons on Earth three years prior. And maybe they were Decepticons who weren't part of the Nemesis crew and never got to report back their finding of the Autobots' base to Megatron (if they were Vehicons, the Autobots might've even killed them).

Kurona wrote:And I certainly don't recognise those defence systems from TFP...
You are correct. They weren't in Prime. They're likely from more offscreen events, like the above incident and the time Bee and Bulkhead arm-wrestled.

True. Not necessarily saying it's out of the realm of possibility; just that if you're going to a place specifically as a callback it'd make sense to allude to things that, y'know, were part of that place rather than bringing up random things. Just raises eyebrows and questions.
Still, not enough to bring down a great episode. Interested to see how things go with Buzzstrike. I mean he's obviously gonna join the autobots - even if he wasn't paired with Bumblebee in his toy that's really obvious from how he acts in the episode - but it'll be fun to see how.

I feel like some of the callbacks could have been things that happened after Prime finished. The bots could have come back to fix things up and finish off their base on Earth to permanently return to Cybertron, and there could have been cons left behind. plus, it would explain the lack of anyone else present as things were closed down

In the next episode called, "Strongarm's Biggest Score", looks like her biggest score is Scatterspike, judging by the footage shown at this year's Comic Con. In the footage, you can see Scatterspike completely beat Strongarm senselessly, before took off. Is it true, that Scatterspike is being described as Strongarm's rival of sorts, hence the title? :CON:

Or, it could be the episode where she acquires Sawtooth as her partner Mini-Con.

Egh, "Strongarm's Big Score" was kind of annoying for the most part. All the "testing" going on throughout the episode was so unnecessary. There were more important things to deal with, and it made me want to strangle both Strongarm and Fixit. That's an impressive feat, especially for the latter. Otherwise, I did like the end section with more revelations about the Decepticons, Minicons, and contacting Optimus. Not sure how to feel about them all being repaints of previous enemies, but screw it.

Next week, Episode 3: "Feminist Logic".

...

Oh, sorry, I always confuse that title. I meant "Pretzel Logic".

All three of the Mini-Cons we've seen so far hanging out with those Decepticons are ones whose toys come with Autobot toys. But as Aerobolt says, they're currently in a situation in which they don't trust anyone, and have to rely on these Decepticons for the time being since someone is apparently after them. Yet, we saw how Buzzstrike behaved in the last episode and how Sawtooth behaved in this episode, in which both of them didn't want to hurt anyone and aren't inherently evil. It's evident that these Mini-Cons are eventually going to learn to trust the Autobots and join up with them later on.

As many of you may not know, I am in Canada. Recently, I've already watched the episode, "Strongarm Big Score." In that episode, Scatterspike approached Strongarm and brutally attacked her. Strongarm then pinned her and cuffed her, but escaped, thanks to Sawtooth. That being said, does that mean that Scatterspike will most likely be Strongarm's main rival in the near future? :BOT: :CON:

btw it's HILARY not Helens, but i s'pose Helens would've been it's real world equivalent :-? anywhoo....i got goosebumps when that volcano name was mentioned, although ended up a little disappointed when there was no huge hole there where the Ark once sat :(
If the Ark ever did sit there, that is, since we have no idea what happened to the Ark in this continuity after it left Cybertron through a space bridge and went on a planet-hopping adventure in space.

But Arcee did mention the Ark to Jack when Maggy showed up in Prime, so there IS or WAS an ark.

We know that; we saw it take off in Fall of Cybertron. We just don't know what happened to it after.

Eh? how does this tie in to FOC? coz that's what you'd be suggesting if it's the same Ark

Because officially, WFC/FoC are part of the same universe as TFP/RiD 2015/Rescue Bots. It's stupid, pointless and doesn't make a lot of sense, but they are officially the same universe.

Well...in that case...i'm surprised they didn't just add the Bayverse in there as well! coz then we'd know what happened to the Ark.....it crashed onto the moon :-P

WFC and FOC were both conceived to be part of the Aligned continuity just like Prime and RID 2015 were (Rescue Bots got shoehorned in, but they made it work well enough). It's just that the video games and the shows were produced independently from one another, with each having to make references to one another afterward.

Like, FOC deliberately gave Cliffjumper a head design beased on his Prime head, the Path Blaster was designed to look like an earlier version of Optimus's gun from Prime, and the design for the Nemesis in FOC is directly based on the ship's Prime cartoon design.

Likewise, the Prime cartoon started referring to the Great War as "the War for Cybertron" many times beginning with season 2, Cliffjumper (in Arcee's flashback episode) referred to a time when he once got lost in the Sea of Rust which was a whole level he was playable in in FOC, the Nemesis was revealed to have an intelligence of its own in one season 2 episode as a reference to the ship's having been reconfigured from WFC Trypticon in FOC (but which was first done by the Exodus and Exiles novels), Miko and Bulkhead directly referred to the FOC Dinobots in one episode in season 3, the Core of Cybertron seen a few times throughout the Prime cartoon used the same design for the Core as was seen in WFC, and more.

Not to mention that after FOC came out and both before and during the airing of Prime season 3, there were two comic mini-series being published that set out to directly connect the games to the Prime cartoon, which starred the FOC Dinobots. The first was called Rage of the Dinobots, which featured the Dinobots teamed up with Prime Ultra Magnus fighting Shockwave on Cybertron in a post-FOC setting in which we saw FOC Shockwave having upgraded himself into his Prime cartoon body and having begun his experiments with Predacons, which would bring about Predaking in Prime season 3. The series ended with the Dinobots and Magnus defeating (but not killing) Shockwave, and Magnus left Cybertron in a ship that would later bring him to Earth at the start of Prime season 3.

The second comic series was simply titled Beast Hunters, and had the FOC Dinobots trying to protect Cybertron and the last of its inhabitants from any remaining threats that existed on the planet in its very dead state, as we saw in the Prime cartoon. This comic series took place during season 3 the Prime cartoon, with Shockwave being on Earth in the show meant he was no longer on Cybertron in the comics. This story also featured FOC Kickback leading some Prime Insecticons, and another Predacon experiment of Shockwave's. The end of the story took place after Predacons Rising, with Cybertron having been restored in the cartoon taking its effect in the comics and the FOC Dinobots eventually got to reunite with Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead in the Prime cartoon designs.

Now, bear in mind that while all these connections have been made, FOC Grimlock is NOT the same guy as RID 2015 Grimlock. The creators of the RID 2015 cartoon tried to make FOC Grimlock's backstory work for RID 2015 Grimlock, but utimately, that backstory didn't work for them because it was too dark and dreary for the character they wanted to write for this show, so they simply wrote up a new Grimlock. Likewise, RID 2015 Sideswipe and RID 2015 Kickback are also considered different guys from WFC Sideswipe and FOC Kickback, as RID 2015 Sideswipe is younger than Bumblebee and didn't partake in the Great War like WFC Sideswipe did, while FOC Kickback was murdered in the Beast Hunters comics so RID 2015 Kickback couldn't possibly be him (and even if FOC Kickback didn't die, RID 2015 Kickback is too different from FOC Kickback to be the same guy anyway).

As for the Bayverse, the WFC/FOC games weren't "added in" like you say, so the notion of "adding in" the Bayverse is null and void. Besides, Rise of the Dark Spark already established the Bayverse and the WFC/FOC games as separate universes anyway.

Hope that clears things up. ;)^

Here's a recording of Pretzel Logic from SeanTF, so that we don't lose our minds from RID-withdrawal.

Source (Post #69)

P.S. No intro and no credits in this recording.

Also the name of 'Blue-Bisk' is Thermidor.

Shame they didn't capture the Decepticon or recruit the Mini-Con. I feel either would have been perfect to happen at this point so we know something about what's going on.

Still, it's not all without plot progression - we've got sir-not-appearing-in-this-ending-segment hiding in the shadows, contacting someone who is totally not a red and white treacherous seeker.

Decent episode. I love that Grimlock made a monk friend. And I like these minicons. Now show us some Starscream

Found a really bad copy of Season 2 episode 16 "Pretzel Logic" on youtube. basically the highlight was an as yet unidentified Decepticon (perhaps a bounty hunter?) observing the battle between Grimlock & *Blue Bisk* (audio is so bad I cant make out his name)...but I do know Steve Blum's Starscream, so that was a treat to hear.

the only other take away for me was that we now know the Decepticon relic hunters are not in league with Starscream, what their ultimate goals are is also yet to be revealed

Now me personally, I think TF: Prime is the 2nd best animated version of the Transformers in all its incarnations through the years. however one of the biggest complaints fans had was the hunt for the relics in the mid-season 2 arc.Yet it appears they are now doing the exact same thing in this show... :HEADHURTS:
The episode was kind of lame overall, but I hope the season will get better, Seems like every episode will have one or two cool reveals to keep fans hooked until something significant happens.

You know what though, at least for now, this take on the Scavenger Hunt story feels different, because ultimately the goal of the plot is not the item, it's to introduce the Minicon and the Decepticon do jour. and for this episode, Starscream's hunter ally Whereas in Prime, it boiled down to the same characters we already knew and the same episode shown a half dozen times with a different arrangement of bots, we are getting more new cast members and obvious pieces of the Endgame. Since it looks like Screamer is who is after the Minicons.

And really, I think this felt more like a Grimlock Episode than a Relic Episode.

"Anita Sarkeesian Logic" "Pretzel Logic" was an improvement over "Strongarm's Big Score", but the first half was a little...awkward, for the lack of a better word. There were a few funny jokes, namely the one with Strongarm and Sideswipe, and I did like Brother Gunter. Although, the real highlight of this episode was hearing Starscream's sexy motherf*ckin' voice. Speaking of which...

This coming episode that will air this Saturday will be called, "Big Mighty Trouble." Given the title above, I strongly to believe that this just might be very likely the debut of immortal/god-like animal-based Decepticons with unbelievable powers that I have previously, and repeatedly have predicted. What are your thoughts on that? :CON:
