Found tonight at a Canadian ToysRus (in Edmonton Alberta) was the Transformers Robots in Disguise: Decepticon Island Showdown Set ($59.99 CAD), and its been purchased and opened up for your viewing pleasure! It comes with two Warrior Class figures, Bumblebee and Steeljaw, whom are unfortunately no different than when the line first debuted. What makes this set unique however is a slew of weapons, and a Stasis Pod. This Stasis Pod is hauntingly familiar with the CR Chambers seen in the classic Beast Wars animated series. It opens and closes book style, the window opens from the top, and can likely fit most Deluxe/Warrior sized figures. See the set below, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

Looks like a Bionicle Tub to me.

But yeah I guess you could use it as a stand in Cybertonian Restoration Chamber too.

A real shame they didn't use the Japanese Bumblebee mould though.

This might bring you a bit of comfort but there is a slight difference, the plastic has changed. You know how the initial ones had this sparkly plastic with a slight metallic sheen? Scotty said that the plastic here is more of the matte kind which doesnt have that extra sparkle.

In case anyone is wondering don't know if it has been said before but this is $39.99 in the US. And seeing the similarities between this pod and the CR Chamber make me kinda want it.

It had been mentioned but I am glad that it's brought up again. Essentially, the pod and weapons come to $10 considering the $14.99 price of the warriors, or if you go by the $16.99 price they are only $6.

Either way, I like it. Though what I'd do with the extra Bee and Steeljaw remains a mystery

Yeah there's a super minor difference in these dudes. They've got some sparkle, but not as much as the first release. From two pages of thread ago:

ScottyP wrote:On another topic, speaking of the Decepticon Island Showdown set, not sure it's been pointed out that Bumblebee and Steeljaw are a little different. By "a little different" I mean there is one teeny-tiny difference: the smooth silver plastic with clearly visible metallic flake mixed in from the initial Warrior Class releases of the toys has been replaced in this set by a much grayer, matte silver. It's actually more noticeable from far away then up close if you just glance at the toys. Not a big thing but still, at least there was something a little new outside of the cool accessories!

A lot of the torpedo minicons share the same transformation while having completely new parts, so they could just share engineering, as was said, and it is not too uncommon

Something that has really disappointed me is that they never even put the wave 3 or 4 minicons up on HTS, and Crazybolt isn't there and is no where to be found, and they put up legion Bisk but no Groundpounder, and they are no where to be seen either at retail.

I really hoped to get those guys, but even HTS so far is letting me down, along with the stores I go to. I know that the minis appeared elsewhere but around here they were no where to be seen.

But even then, just buying that one figure would still incur shipping costs no? And yeah, it is weird that Hasbro wouldnt list those wave 3 and 4 minicons, especially since they werent so hot at big box retailers.

It would, but then I could buy it with other items to get the free shipping, or I could get it off the HTS Ebay store, which offers free shipping on everything over $0.99

If they weren't hot at big box retailers, what hope would they have of selling them on hts? wave 1 and 2 are still warming their digital shelves, besides, they don't get everything that's released...

If no one ordered them then Hasbro would have overstock and maybe resort to selling it through their own retail outlet HTS.

I am a champion of this line for its innovative designs and thankfulness for still delivering traitionally complex transformations in the warrior class, but I wont argue with anyone about them being small. I was playing with some toys yesterday and then I put them side by side and

Shame there is yet to be Overscaled KO RID Decepticons. I get the impression there isn't any plans to make any more Overscale RID KO's if they couldn't even be bothered to repaint the existing moulds (excluding the simplified ones). Steel Jaw would have been nice to have a bit bigger, as would Quillfire & Megatronus too.

Remember that time we newsed a new Trademark application involving "combiner force?" Well, it appears as though we finally have our answer as to what this is meant to be.

Thanks to Seibertronian RAR we have news from the Transformers: Robots In Disguise mobile app that combiner force will actually be a new subline within the greater Robots in Disguise toyline. Among the things revealed by the game are characters and some maps.

Considering how reliable the game is for the toyline characters, it appears as though there are 3 new names Robots in Disguise fans should become aware of: Combiners, Crash Combiners, and Activators. We don't have any information about what the Combiners line will be yet, though it does feature the standard main cast of Autobots. Crash Combiners seem to be a new name for Power Battlers, or something similar to it. Activators appear to be a new name for minicon-like characters.

Among the new characters shown off are Skyhammer, Great Byte, Stuntwing and Trickout. Check out the screenshots below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

“The War rages on, but we have a new weapon against the enemy. The COMBINERS are one of the the largest, most powerful robots on the team. Our victory is assured?” – Optimus Prime
