The day after, Target will have news on new collab projects with Transformers. We did get a codename "Yellow" collab listing the other day and that could mean anything from the Beatles to Seinfeld's Bee movie, so we'll see.

If it is Collaborative then I don't know, Big Bird? Coldplay? Another J. Balvintron?

I'm thinking another Bumblebee figure, probably another Bayverse remold.

But then it went back to toys and we got a bunch of reveals such as:
The Walmart exclusive Velocitron Speedia 500 set, which is not available to purchase until July
It includes, Blurr, Clampdown, Black Convoy, Hauler, Cosmos, Override, Burnout and Roadrocket.
Important points, Clampdown has white plastic instead of red plastic in areas like the legs as a conscious decision to further differentiate him from Red Alert. Also, the panel confirmed that the Black Convoy in the set is meant to be RID SCOURGE, unlike what some fans had guessed (or hoped?).
We also got reveals of the RED figures found by a Taiwanese glamour model earlier today
And lastly, they revealed Shattered Glass Slicer, who is a redeco of Earthrise Wheeljack and comes with a weapons pack in the form of a red Fasttrack.

Roadrocket and a few others are maybes but not priorities. Cosmos is a pass though it's more g1 ish the TR one is perfectly fine and did more with the additional shuttle bot at a way lower price.
Easiest pass is the Skids repaint, as much as I really like diaclone colors legacy skids doesnt work for me. Maybe it would look better as a lada based character if there was one.

I might get Clampdown to partner up with Cordon, too. (May need some reprolabels to look as slavish as Clampdown, though...)
Also hmm, still not sure about Black Convoy/Scourge. I'll wait to see if they actually might do a Toxitron redeco before considering it however.
Also hmm, the lighting makes that IDW Blurr look more presentable, I may at least get him as a crowd filler... (Still not a big fan of the design...)
But all in all these were pretty good reveals!
Edit: Wow I am a giddy goat, I meant to say that I did not expect Slicer and would be fun to repurpose as Jacky.
I guess I let excitement blur my brain a little!

Cosmos is the one I am least drawn to, that chest needed to be collapsable for thr cockpit mode that flying trash can is just hideous, but I do like thr Bot and thr checkered flag is adorable.
I could probably pass on Burnout since I have the botcon set, but I did get Selects Lift Tucket and hell I have 66.7 billion Countachs already so whats a second version of the skids mold?
Road Rocket looks great.
Slicer is a must I love the way they incorporated the black into the v mode deco.
I love the beefier look that IDW Blurr has to his G1 version. I wish the tires touched the ground and turned but otherwise he is perfect.
Black Convoy I will get but I wish they hadn't gone with the only use of the black chest as the inspiration. He should had the gunmetal chest Luke he did in Car Robots, the US release as Scourge, the Generations release as Scourge, the Legacy headmaster, and the cartoon.
angtre wrote:Given its name and colours Burnout had written "Decepticon" all over it - shame witnessing it become yet another Autobot. Not entirely convinced by Cosmos, looks a little too much like a thrash bin; Roadrocket is a welcome surprise, as SG Wheeljack/Slicer.
Burnout was an Autobot before. Burnout and Liftticket were both Autobots by default in Botcon sets.

I love how there's three female characters in the Speedia line. Not often you see that.
Road Rocket looks really good. Those colors just look amazing on that mold and in general. That is one nice looking shade of red. Might be because it's paired with black. Might be the hints of blue. Don't know but it looks good. The painted shuriken on the arm blades is pretty funny.
Cosmos looks awesome. I don't recall them mentioning anything about him being a partial but I can see how the leakers thought he was made from Warpath. There are some similar transformation elements in where the robot mode parts end up in the vehicle mode and how they get from one place to another but they don't look like they share anything at all so far. Some of the pieces on Cosmos look familiar, like the legs, but they don't line up with anything I'm thinking of like Origin Bumblebee, Kingdom Warpath or Earthrise Cliffjumper. It's just kind of odd for a store exclusive line to get two new molds that aren't retools of anything else so far.
Burn Out would indeed make for a cool Decepticon name but it's not entirely Hasbro's fault making her an Autobot. That honor goes to Funpub. Personally I'd love to have seen more of the Diaclone decos be Decepticons instead of Autobots. We have Exhaust and Loudpedal and that's it. DK-2 Guard (but I guess we kind of have that with the Deseeus Drone), red Skids/SG Skids (not Reboost as that's red Crosscut), red Mirage, Burn Out, Lift Ticket, Spin Out and whatever the names of the blue and yellow Trailbreaker and/or Hoist figures will be would make for some great Decepticons. Tigertrack, Crosscut, Road Rage, Clamp Down and Deep Cover have been named for so long though that I don't think it would go down easy to switch their allegiances now. Reboost and Cordon can stay Autobots. Blue Bluestreak could've been a Decepticon too lol. Not that I can't just put some new labels over their existing sigils myself though. Otherwise, I actually like the Skids mold. It's not amazing but it's not too bad.
The rest we've seen.
Scourge looks great but it's a shame about the colors with the name and the lack of paint on the translucent parts of the shoulders.
Override looks amazing. She may or may not be worth the voyager tag blah blah blah.
Clamp Down makes my custom Siege Clamp Down obsolete. Just like what happened with Deep Cover and Tigertrack.
Blurr looks good. Shame it's not a "pretool" of Pointblank as Armada/Cybertron Blurr. I don't really like the SS Blur mold overall.
Road Hauler is okay. He may or may not be Hauler. Screaming head is cool but should be extra and not the main head. Some people hate animation errors. Something something something Darksyde. Something something something complete.

I decided I am getting all of the Velocitron figures. I'll talk about them in their thread.
Prime Optimus and Megatron give me fits. I like how they look! But the RED figures are such bad quality. I want to like them, but I didn't get Knockout because of Arcee's quality and I feel the same towards these 2.
SG Wheeljack is neat, I like the G1 Slicer action master component too
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal on June 24th, 2022 @ 6:56am CDT
And talk about out of left field! The figures revealed include US releases of the Takara exclusive Street Fighter figures released years ago using Titans Return and Thrilling 30 figures. But the main attraction has to be the release of a Tonka x Hasbro collaborative Devastator, which is G1 Devastator decorated up as a set of Tonka construction vehicles, complete with Autobot symbols. This might be the rumored project: yellow figure as well, though we have no confirmation on that yet.
These figures should be going live on Target's website around 9 AM eastern time, though as we know, Target's systems could be finnicky and we might have to keep watch throughout the day to secure our orders.

To answer your question, $104.99.
the price is not too unfair imho, but still not worth the investment for me. I have the last Devy re-issue, and I literally just sold off my street fighters, so I'm good passing on all of these.

The Street Fighter sets are still being sold in 2 packs, while Tonka Devastator is 1 big set.
The Autobot Hot Rod Ken vs. Arcee Chun-Li set is set at $74.99, the Optimus Prime Ryu vs. Megatron M. Bison set is $112.99, and Tonka Devastator is $104.99. You can see the links below for the listings for the sets.

For Devastator Tonka Deco I agree. I was also about to agree for the Street Fighter toys as well, but it seems Hasbro being able to offer these directly has kept cost down somewhat. Still in light of these being based on toys from 4 years ago, with the tools already made, but cost of materials going up, I guess it's an even trade.
Lastly, depending truly if these are leftovers, or newly made toys, the originals went on sale before leaving most online retailers. Unless Hasbro's quantities are extremally in short supply there is a good chance these will go on sale as well. I just dont see Street Fighter as a hot IP right now.

Since they're calling it Street Fighter II and not trying to keep up with the hype and calling it Street Fighter VI it'll probably just be the same box with a slip cover/outer box, Hasbro loves those.
The $30 mark up on Tonkanator over the $75 price that the reissue from 2019 is a blatant cash grab on Hasbro's part. There's no way it costs that much more to produce in three years, especially when they own Tonka so there's no gratuitous license fees involved this time.
Shame it looks like the Tonka logo is tampographed on rather than a sticker, they really didn't want people using this as G2 Devastator. I kinda like the use of black instead of purple, though there are G2 KOs that do the same thing.

I would have definitely preferred the Titan remold for the simple reason that it was never repainted before.
The last Walmart reissue of the G1 constructicons were 100$CAN and I thought that was expensive. At 110$US, I can't imagine what the Canadian price will be. 170$CAN?

Because reusing the G1 mold for the 999th time is easy mode.

Yes, do you? They were $75 in 2019, there's no way they've gone up $30 in 3 years. Even Encore in 2011 and 2013 could be had for $70 at the right shop at Japanese prices. I didn't hesitate to order it, which probably makes me part of the problem, but at the same time I want more reissues and want to support them. It's not a great situation that Hasbro puts us in sometimes.

I suppose next, Hasblo will release a set of smaller-than-the-original, green, plastic faux-Tonka trucks with a Deception symbol on them and charge $100 a pop too?
We can easily get KO Yellow Devastators too:

I'm sure I've seen the G2 version "knocking about" fairly often too.
As for the SF2 figs, I passed on those when they were released domestically, so I'm not bothering with them now. They look bloody awful.

Now THAT I'd buy.
Devastator was always one of my favorites, but we've moved on from G1 toy design limitations. The individual members should be at least be fully articulated Core class bots by now.
Hasbro isn't even trying and doesn't care who knows.
Posted by Grahf_ on June 24th, 2022 @ 6:56pm CDT
And I couldn't care less for more G1 reissues. I've moved past G1 figures a long time ago. I had them, I loved them, I no longer need/want them. But it's great for those of you who still want them. I just can't wait for this to go on steep clearance just like all the reissues did except for Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, PMOP and maybe one or two others over the two decades or so they've been doing them outside of Japan.
I'm like some of the others who have commented and would've been down for Tonkanator done from UW Devastator. UW over CW of course as it seems Hasbro doesn't shy away from Takara toolings anymore.
So these are all easy passes for me but not because I don't like them.
I wonder if Hasbro will be reissuing the Takara Star Wars Transformers. Not because I don't have them already but because Han and Chewie are some of my favorite female Transformers and others need to own them. Yes, they're female lol. Han has a HUGE monoboob shelf and not in a Jazz or Prowl kind of way but an Arcee kind of way. It even has high heels and what could pass for Anode's head. Chewie's torso and head looks feminine to me as well. They both have hot pants on too. Chewie also has the open hand like the Rust Renegades. Han has inward elbow joints to have hand on hip poses. Just a little fun but they are indeed female in my collection. They are good toys along with Darth Vader though. And Chewie doesn't crumble to dust.
Oh wait no sorry, they can't bring them over. They have waffles and hollow forearms where the hands were. I don't think the fandom is ready to know that their lords and saviors at Takara do that even without Hasbro involvement. Some still don't acknowledge that waffling isn't new and has been around since G1 and that Beast Wars might have some of the most egregious examples. I wonder what they'd think if they found out that intrusive gimmicks are most likely Takara's doing too if Daigunder and Web Diver are any indication. I'm just having some fun again but am kinda serious.
Posted by Rodimus Prime on June 24th, 2022 @ 8:47pm CDT
As for the SF figures, I think it's a neat concept, but I don't like the mold or the paintjob for Hot Rod Ken, and the TR Megatron mold just sux, so pass. I wouldn't mind Ryu Prime and Chun-Li Arcee (Chun-cee?) though.
Posted by Sabrblade on June 24th, 2022 @ 9:47pm CDT
A redeco of a vintage mold as all-new characters, and specifically as a construction-themed Autobot combiner. They feel like they could be both direct rivals of Baldigus/Ruination and associates of the Buildmasters/Build Team.
Were I to get this set, I'd put it with my CR/RiD'01 Autobots.
