Okay, I guess it's now a given that that new Con must be an Insecticon.
The Scraplets are back. Maybe this time they'll find their place in this show and not come off as feeling like a random addition that serves no real purpose to the story again.
And, still no indication that Optimus gets his memories back, so here's hoping Orion rebels on his own and doesn't return to being a bore.
Also, get a load of the WFC-styled Cybertron.

because youd think he would get a unique mold (or at least i hoped he would), that mold up there is a repaint of skyquake

I don't see how him being a Skyquake redeco would affect the voice actor.Hypershock wrote:Sabrblade wrote:why would Dreadwing looking like this stop Tony Todd from voicing him?Hypershock wrote:i wish that wasn't him i almost think its not, cuz ive heard that tony todd is guna voice dreadwing, so...... i dunno

All the bug elements, plus the flying insect altmode, lead more credence to it being an Insecticon.SlyTF1 wrote:I hope the new guy is Shockwave. Because he's still back on Cybertron. And in G1, Shoakcwave was left back on Cybertron by Megatron, so if It's not just some random steroid induced drone, I think there's a pretty good chance of it being Shockwave. Then again, I'd expect him to have a circular eye since Prime never strays too far from the original designs with more iconic characters.
Plus, that would be a horrible look for Shockwave, as it looks nothing like him and is too hideous for someone of his intelligent, logic-driven character.

Its not that that would affect the voice actor, its that its the same shape as skyquake, and if he ends up that on the show, it might possibly affect how i myself see him. I dont mean itll be anything drastic, or that ill dislike him cuz he looks like skyquake, i like that look. i just thought that for the actual show they would have given him a unique mold, but i know on cg shows its more cost-effective and less-labor intensive to make a buncha people the same body with different colors than make a whole bunch of unique molds.
in short, if dreadwing ends up being that mold BUT tony todd performs him excellently, the mold will not affect my perception of the character. i just thought it would have been cool to see a new decepticon mold

Another little note i thought of: the series has spent a great deal of time exploring the relationship of the kids and their Autobot counterparts. I may be in the minority, but I am very impressed with what they have done with Jack's character. Jack has earned the attention of Prime as a mentor and Arcee as a sister-figure, as well as seeing the other two kids look to him as a leader. I suspect that we will see teenage romance complicate things in season 2...
And I want to hit repeatedly Miko with a hammer or large blunt object.
I have enjoyed the first two eps of the Orion Pax arc quite a bit. I believe we are seeing that developlment of Pax to Prime, and the motivation behind it (as much as we can see in 22 minutes per episode, anyways).
And the Star Wars homage in Part 2 made me laugh out loud.
"We all fine here...umm..how are you?"

Then explain how Bumblebee and Ratchet have also been involved in the same war for just as long as Optimus, and yet they can still express wide ranges of emotions and personality aspects. They're veterans too, and have been fighting alongside Optimus for nearly just as long as he has, living through the same experiences and such.First-Aid wrote:Some people see Optimus as being boring. To me, he is stoic, jaded by years of war, and wizened by tens of millions of years of existance. Seriously, could you imagine fighting a war for that long? And have you ever seen someone who has experienced combat fatigue and shell shock? Combat fatigue drains emotion and leads to expressions of emotional detachment. You can't let yourself get close to anyone since you've seen so many comrades die. You are in a position of leadership so you must remain strong and stoic in the face of infinite adversity.
Agreed! Jack is the one character who has gotten the most development out of all the good guys in the show.First-Aid wrote:Another little note i thought of: the series has spent a great deal of time exploring the relationship of the kids and their Autobot counterparts. Easy. Neither Bumblebee nor Ratchet have had the burden of leadership, neither do they feel the responsibility for Cybertron's condition as much as Prime would. If this timeline is correct (in that Shockwave discovers dinosaurs as mentioned in the FoC backstory for Grimlock), then that means Prime will have held the burder of leadership for even more than the original G1 Prime...assuming that Shockwave viewed dinosaurs in real time at the same time as he created Grimlock and the others...around 75 million years. Even if not that long, his world is far different than the G1 Cybertron and as such his character will be completely different from G1 Prime so we can't compare that character to this one. He would have to suppress soo much emotion it could give him a very stoic, emotionless demeanor. Think of it as a Vulcan version of Optimus, having to suppress emotions in order to not be overwhelmed by them.

The thing that bothers me about him is that, the way Hasbro's going about this continuity, we see two points in Optimus' life (the past and the present), and by showing us how he'll turn out to be in the present, we have yet to see how and why he grew into being this kind of stoic that he's become, and we now see that any and all of his ancient past portrayals will only amount to him becoming a bore. By making him uninteresting, it ruins any potential for his past self to grow to become a great character after the games and novels, and a lack of exposure to his more recent history makes his present self just come off as being bland.First-Aid wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then explain how Bumblebee and Ratchet have also been involved in the same war for just as long as Optimus, and yet they can still express wide ranges of emotions and personality aspects. It's like how Anakin Skywalker will never grow to end up as an awesome good guy since we already knew that he's destined to fall to evil as Darth Vader.

No, I believe they fall in the arachnid category as they have 8 legs.
Kiyza wrote:Judging by the pincers, the visor-like optics and the color scheme, if it's not Shrapnel, then it's almost certainly based on him. I doubt he'll be named in the actual episode, but if we get a toy of him, I'd wager it'll be named Shrapnel.
I don't believe that Hasbro has that name trademarked...and in the world we live in, given that there are a lot of people who are overly sensitive about such things and that there are a lot of war vets out there, I don't believe that Hasro would even consider using the name anymore.
Mechastrike wrote:based on last week's episode i'm guessing just another Decepticon "rodent" Arcee mention to jack.
Agreed. Definitely getting an Insecticon vibe, especially as hordes of them will be in the new FoC game- ideal for a tie in.

I know it sounds bad but look, hes the right colours, looks kind of beastly and (unless i am mistaken) i dont think it has been confirmed that this guy is a con
Think about it, i dont think it is all that impossible considering what has happened so far what with Unicron being Earth etc

Obviously, it's Bob. The good insecticon. XD
I'm betting the individual insecticons have been kicked out of the new continuity. You know, like the Dinobots were supposed to be. Recently I've been thinking about what all the new continuity entails and I'm sad that they will be quarantining characters that they don't think fit into it.
But if we're lucky, I'd say some may still get names here and there (maybe named ones will appear in FoC), either in credits, toys, or, if they're around long enough, just fanon names, like Steve.
