Mindless and honorable. The perfect couple.
But I wonder why they're going for this gimmick? Well, it isn't like we've seen any underwater missions before...

BTW, the head/chest looks like Skalor. Maybe his alt. mode will end up like Seawing?

It's safe to say I won't be buying this one. More money for MPs!

You were hoping for a non-beast-themed design for a beast-themed toyline?PrymeStriker wrote:Awww. I was hoping for Prime's take on Animated's Marauder Megatron for Beast Megatron.

The only thing "good" about this toy is that it's, at the very least, better than "Tote bag" Beast Hunter Optimus Prime.

And rather ironically it jumps the shark. Removable weapons and armour are one thing, but hardwiring the armour into megs jumps the sharp to the point where the series is trying to be BW, but trying to not be BW (as opposed to a redux of the Dinobot Hunt premise), and really changes the tone of things for the worse.

It's the hollow legs, right? They ruined the designs.

Obviously, except for the weapon. The weapon is shite... But, other than the Star Saber, and Shockwave, ALL The Beast Hunter Weapons have been shite. In fact, go back to the RiD Prime figures, and half of those were even crap.
I hope the color changes, but I think this is cool.

Those aren't his final colors. This is a prototype, so the colors don't matter.

What are you talking about? How is this any different from the toys of Bumblebee, Soundwave, Wheeljack, Ratchet, Arcee, and Knock Out?Bowspearer wrote:And rather ironically it jumps the shark. I too want this guy. I'm certain his official colors will be better, though I love how the plastic is evocative of the Seacons.

I'm passing on this one. It's the first in the BH line I know I won't be getting.
Posted by Sabrblade on April 8th, 2013 @ 2:42pm CDT
And I think it could even work for a half-decent BW Rampage/Shokaract redeco homage.
Posted by gothsaurus on April 8th, 2013 @ 2:45pm CDT
And agreed... that weapon is silly. Hope it pops off.

Wow. That's spot on. Thanks for the post Sabrblade.

Being from the same gender but somewhat different, Shockwave would be a barracuda.
So, seeing a Megatron with fish atributes and a barracuda for a fusion cannon is awesome to me.

Unfortunately, BH Shockwave is a pseudo-tank with claws.

Obvious aquatic creature designs are obvious.

The fusion cannon looks too separated from his arm in the photo, but it looks like the connecting post can fold up into the cannon's body, and if I'm not mistaken, it looks like there's another grip within the body of the cannon itself (there's a post of lighter plastic visible in the back view of the cannon above the cannon's post, likewise, the main post looks like it's connected via a hinge). If I'm right, they may have designed the cannon to be held in a way that evokes ROTF Megatron's "murder arm".

That's an interesting take on it.

I was hoping for something similar to Beast Optimus Prime with a robot mode based off of Marauder Megatron's design (mostly with the head and it's BM homage). That's not a stretch. It could've and should've happened.

I was very much thinking Seacons as well. If he transforms into anything even remotely resembling a Seacon than i'll buy him.

Off topic, but is his First Edition fusion cannon compatible with the Voyager mold?

XDMan wrote:Sometimes, this retool makes me hope he comes with a Star Saber. What makes this guy worse is his fusion cannon, which looks too big and could make his ball joint loose.
Do you mean the Dark (or Vorpal, I like calling his sword the Armada name) Saber?

I've been wanting to know that for a while now as well.
