While there is a lot of excitement for what is coming after Transformers Power of the Primes, some fans are still in need of the wave 2 deluxes. Hasbro had said that they would rectify the situation and not only did those appear on Hasbro Toy Shop, but the wave 2 toys are reappearing at brick and mortar retail as well. The entire wave was found by Scotty P in a North Carolina Walmart.
This wave includes Blackwing, Snarl, Sludge, Moonracer and Rippersnapper.
Scotty P wrote:Just grabbed a Blackwing at Walmart in Cary, NC. Thought it might be good to give folks a heads up that PotP Deluxe wave 2 is finally showing back up after the earlier widespread complaints. It's not isolated to just around here from what I can tell!

So now after reading this, I'm paranoid that knowing my luck, they'll get wave 2 Deluxes I don't need in instead, great.

Right now the only thing from wave 2 that I really want is the Prime Masters. At this rate I'll have all of the exclusive PMs before the retail versions.

But what about the W2 Prime Masters, Alchemist and Alpha Trion? Those are almost impossible to find, and still nearly triple retail price on Amazon and BBTS. No sign of them on HasbroToyShop.com, but I've given up expecting anything like normal distribution from THEM.

I've seen Alpha Trion and Alchemist Prime exactly ONCE in the Twin Cities area, and I bought them both.
Switching gears a bit, I really have to wonder at this point if Hasbro is going to replace the "Transformers Collectors Club" with ANYTHING. That would be the perfect place for them to put out some of the last few odds and ends they've been neglecting from the Prime Wars Triology. Those products wouldn't have to compete with their new retail lines, especially with their "relaunch" of the new "War for Cybertron" Trilogy. It would let us get some things like a proper new Flywheels to go with Battletrap, the rest of the 1987 Minibots, a proper Legends sized Cliffjumper, the rest of the "Deluxe" Insecticons, some more deluxe combiner limbs to help fill out Megascream, Elita Inf1nite, and Firestormer, and even the last few Titans we need, like Omega Supreme and Scorponok (if it's true that Hasbro is going to abandon that size class due to poor sales). Hasbro just has to do a "made to order" system, charge a small premium to make up for smaller runs, and voila! Happy collectors and more money.

Landmine? He sure took his time but in my neck of the woods, like 2 months ago shelf warming.

Wave 2, go to Target. Wave 3, go to Walmart. Tho, Voyagers are stuck at 1 and 2 no matter where, and my Walmarts stopped carrying Leader Class.

Interesting. I also have not seen any Leaders at Walmart, but the rest of that is inaccurate for me. Right now I have access to this line-up:
Walmart (in town)
Wave 3 PMs
Waves 1 & 2 Legends
Wave 3 Deluxes (sold out except Jazz)
Wave 2 Voyagers
NO Leaders
Target (15-ish mins away)
Wave 1 PMs
Wave 1 Legends
Wave 1 Deluxes
Wave 3 Voyagers(!), and 1 Starscream
Wave 1 Leaders
At this point, I'm just glad I was able to grab the Wave 2 Deluxes while I was at school. Talk about your screwed-up distribution...

Very few Walmarts are. The one closest to me does, and of course had 3 cases of Wave 1 just recently restocked. The next 4 closest stores don't carry leader. Only 1 out of the 4 stores closest to my work carry leaders as well, also recently restocked with Wave 1.

One Walmart had Prime Masters wave 2, and were immediately clearance priced at $3.00. I saw them twice, the first time I got my set, the second time a couple were left, then they were gone. It's that hindsight again, Had I known they'd be so limited, I would have purchased them all.
The only wave 3 *anything* I've seen was Inferno, at both Walmart and Target. I'm getting all the rest of my wave 3 stuff from BBTS since none of it has yet to hit my area. I got my deluxes Saturday, and my Prime Masters should be coming mid-week. So the only remaining items on my list are Predaking (which I'll be playing a delicate balance of saving/waiting for a potential sale), and Novastar.

william-james88 wrote:You know, all this talk about difference from region to region regarding distribution really brings home the fact that there is no pattern. Not per store, not per area. So generalising things like saying that Walmarts no longer do something doesnt make much sense to me since for every anecdotal evidence of one theory, we get anecdotal evidence of the contrary.
Even my local Walmarts had Leader PotP figs, I even saw Rodimus Unicronus there once, but that was at least four months ago. It definitely isn't a regional thing and the stores that do sell them are so rare that I have to wonder if they simply had enough stocked that they haven't sold them through yet. If these same stores get Optimus Primal then we'll know for sure.

I think it's some kind of corporate, nationwide decision not to carry Leader class, and it is strange.

Also, Outback is a great companion bot for the wild:

Beautiful shots of Outback, D-Max.
My Must-Haves for PotP is coming down to Bludgeon and Novastar -- I'd like more but beggars can't be choosers on the local Hunt.

The images show both the vehicle and robot mode, including the new head and reused accessory for the Junkion, and the compatibility with the Prime Masters (Onyx Prime shown in some shots here), the instructions showing how to attach the weapon, and some of the poses this reuse of Combiner Wars Groove can strike. Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub Discussion boards!

but is there a picture from the side of the box to see which combiner they recommend he goes with??
even though Blackwing just shows a picture of his jet mode

Thanks to those antennae of his. Gotta make the head small enough so it can fit inside the body while keeping his classic antenna-ed head design.Carnivius_Prime wrote:His head looks so tiny.

Isn't it more like 'thanks to the boring re-use of a mold that was designed for another character and not specifically Wreck-Gar at all'?

Not like we would have gotten a Deluxe CW Wreck-Gar any other way.Carnivius_Prime wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Thanks to those antennae of his. Gotta make the head small enough so it can fit inside the body while keeping his classic antenna-ed head design.Carnivius_Prime wrote:His head looks so tiny.

I like Wreck-Gar but i never even once asked for a CW toy of him forcing the combiner gimmick he never had before. A re-release of the RTS figure (with some improvements to fix the flaws some folk had, mine didn't and I regret selling it) would have been more preferable but nah, it don't fit the line's gimmick (and we got a cruddy little one anyways too). Although technically this is Power of the Primes Wreck-Gar and not Combiner Wars anyways which was two toylines ago and we'd had a whole load of non-headmasters become headmasters since then too but they keep shoving that combining stuff in half the toys anyways no matter if it makes sense or not. I never really thought of Wreck-Gar even being that much of an Autobot to want to combine with a group of them. I thought Junkions were technically allies rather than fellow troops. I dunno. Enjoy, folks. I'm off to get ready for a final rehearsal. eep.

Plus, even though I like his usual asymmetrical design, the lack of asymmetry on this figure does remind me of Animated Wreck-Gar, which is awesome.

The other question that constantly pops into my mind now is:
How would the Takara "Unite Warriors" nicer-paint-app version look if it existed
Besides that, I've been pondering names for a Junkion gestalt for days, too. If anyone has any excellent ones, drop em below!

Like all TakaraTomy PotP toys: the same as the Hasbro ones He will be released there alongside Nemesis Prime as numbers PP-41 and PP-42.

Junkyard? Debris? Rustbucket? Spareparts? Assembly? Re-Cycle, if they're mostly or all motorcycles? Drivetrain, since it's one defined named system of parts made of a combination of other parts? Wreckage?
I dunno if they qualify as excellent, but they're what I've got so far.
