Thanks to various site sponsors and fellow Seibertron.com community members, we have a round-up of links leading to listings on various retailers for the first wave of Transformers: Power of the Primes - from Legend class to Deluxe, via Prime Masters and Voyagers, but no Leader class yet. You can choose where to shop for these, but do note that some of the prices vary, and several of these figures are also making their way to physical stores too (at least in the US for now).
As a reminder, the first wave consists of the following:
Prime Masters - Liege Maximo and Skullgrin Decoy Armor, Micronus and Cloudburst Decoy Armor, Vector Prime and Metalhawk Decoy Armor
Legends - Beachcomber, Windcharger, Slash, Skrapnel (redecoed from the Generations version).
Deluxe - Slug, Swoop, Jazz, Dreadwind
Voyager - Grimlock, Starscream

Gang-molding. Each Prime Master, like the Titan Masters before them, only have two plastic colors. Also, making him gold will not only activate the fandom's paranoia of GPS, but it will make him look too much like his mold-mate Landmine.

The target employee that grabbed them for me had obviously been asked about them before. He knew exactly what I was talking about and knew exactly what characters they were. He couldn't find the legends, though, so the hunt continues!

Also... considering Grimmy will be harder to find, I'm pretty sure i'll save (gas) money in the long run nipping this in the bud.
As for "they always over-stock the first wave". Wasn't that NOT the case for Combiner Wars?

It should be noted that while full cases of the Wave 1 Deluxes are shown by clicking the "available on December 15th" link above, those are not sold by Amazon, which means they are generally sold at a higher price (via a 3rd party seller) and are also not eligible for Prime shipping- not to mention that the cases aren't expected to be available until February.
Also, if you're out shopping for whatever holiday you celebrate, and you come across any Power of the Primes figures, let us know on in our Sightings Section (which appears on Seibertron's front page), an also on our Sightings Forum. where you can share your finds with local fans!

Well, I did a quick comparison between Slags (G1/G2 vs PotP) and PotP in bot mode is nearly a head taller. Here is my breakdown:
Bot mode:
Size: PotP Slag is noticeably taller, G1 is thicker.
Poseability: PotP, not even close
Dino:
Size: G1 is thicker but PotP is just about as long. Basically the different is the head and hind quarters (the bot feet part).
Poseability: PotP slightly wins out here do to the arms being more poseable.
Transformation:
Kibble: PotP wins because the found something to do with the darn tail. The only purpose it served on the G1 figure was to stabilize him so he could stand upright.
Faithfulness: less of a "which is better" and more "does it transform how I expect him to based on the old toy and animation". His transformation is 95% spot onn except one omission. The dino back does not turn into wings. A minor gripe from a stellar toy.

So maybe my opinion won't sway you on the deluxes, but I will leave you with this thought... there is so much detail on these figures that an oversized KO (was it Wei Jiang doing them for TR deluxes?) is still going to look fantastic.

Dude, just wait for them to show up in stores. Wave 1 is ALWAYS overstocked. It's the later waves you have to worry about.

From my very limited experience, having gotten back into collecting recently from the start of Titans Return, I've found it was middle waves which are the worst. The first two waves generally gets a lot of stuff out there and in stock but then come the inevitable shelf-warming and crappy product rotation which result in the new mid-line stuff being understocked. The later stuff meanwhile gets to clog shelves too. How bad you may ask? Well, bad enough that if I wanted to I could army build deluxes.

And yet, assuming there is no later-waves PotP Deathsaurus to remold him from in his dragon mode (a suitable match for him, since Optimus Primal has his 'Optimal' form in this toyline) would it be so hard to remold him from Grimlock? All he'd need is a new robot mode head and maybe, if Hasbro feel generous, new hips details to mimic the turbines on his Transmetal form. Again, I know it won't happen but my inner child really wants it badly.
Plus, it just seem so...wrong...to have Primal in a line without any Beast-era Predacon to oppose him. Not to mention that Megatron hasn't had a new toy since the Cybertron era. Sure, there are talk of a masterpiece but I'm talking mass retail. Again, I know, it won't happen I'm just saying if they wanted to they could totally do it because they got a brand new T-Rex mold and barring Goryu I just don't see a use for the mold unless they just keep the internal engineering and completely reshell it.

I honestly don't get what you're complaining about. I mean realistically, the entire BW line was damn near perfect to the point they're nearly impossible to improve on.

I also want a Magnaboss that can move his head, and whose components are a little better balanced. Still, I'll never forget unwrapping that big guy in Christmas of '97....
(And yes I know the TFCC made stickers to convert Silverbolt, Prowl, and Ironhide into a Magnaboss set with some of their exclusives but it's not the same thing)

We have seen the official stock photography and the images from the shows where the toys were first seen and revealed - in fact, you can check out our gallery here for Hascon 2017 and here for New York Comic Con 2017 - but this is a good look at the empty compartment that will house the inner figures, taken mid-way setup by employees preparing an exhibition. We also see how the arms will indeed be needing to separate from the body for transformation, though we don't know how they will be packaged. Check them out below!

Yeah well, even as a lifelong Beast Wars fan I'd have to diagree on some level. Certainly those who became show characters had good toys but the line was very hit and miss and its engineering is, in some respect, quite lacking compared to modern toys. Especially when it come to weight and stability, many of them being very backheavy.
Oh and don't forget: not all of these toys have survived our childhoods. In some respect, there are G1 figures which survived way better than those from the Beast Era, what with these ball joints which have eroded and came loose. Oh and let's not forget GPS, which claimed many iconic figures from that era, such as Megatron's transmetal form, Optimal Optimus and Dinobot II. Sure, all toys decay, but judging from my fairly large and well-preserved collection, even a careful childhood will result in toys that have disintegrated when removed from boxes.
In my case, a new Megatron is paramount since all my previous figures of the guy have broken. Had Transmetal megatron not been so fragile you are correct that its good enough 20 years later as a representation of the guy. Its engineering is good and its poseability decent and its very show-accurate. Unfortunately, the crappy brittle plastic prevents it from being so 'near flawless', as does flaking and turning to dust does to other figures, often breaking in ways that simply cannot be repaired.

What's unclear? Rodimus Prime's arms attach to Hot Rod's knees, with his shins pointing upwards to form Rodimus's shoulders. When Hot Rod is Hot Rod and not the torso of Rodimus Prime, the arms have nothing to attach to except in trailer configuration. We saw this at NYCC as well. Or Hascon. One of them.

The Rodimus Prime arms connect to the lower leg of Hot Rod for Prime Mode (pictured below) and are store on the part of the trailer above Hot Rod in vehicle mode. So it's not a a shipping/packaging detail it's parts-forming.
Personally I don't mind it, the figure is still the best looking Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime to date IMO.

These items are all due to come to retail in December 2017/January 2018, depending on your distribution channel of choice and the price points we have seen so far are not consistent from one retailer to the next.

This picture seems to confirm the "Deluxe" modes of the Leaders will be closer to a Voyager in scale than a normal Deluxe. I'm super okay with this, especially in Hot Rod's case as, in my opinion, he'll scale perfectly with my CW Ultra Magnus and T30 Springer and Arcee!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:The Prime Masters are the small figures that the line are sorta built around. They can stand in Pretender shells, ride in/on Legends, and attach to the armor of deluxe figures. Oh, they can also be used as heads, on Titans Return figures and interact with Titan Master drones and bases. One negative is that a lot of the uniqueness of a Titan Master is lost with Prime Masters, and the Pretender shells transform the same way thus far. For five bucks USD though, you really can't go wrong.

It's an awful mode that doesn't really represent the Dinobots well at all (ok it's not an abomination like that beast comic but I would have thought something bulky like the Hulk, a huge big brawler would have looked cool, maybe hunched over a bit like RotF Devastator. This one just looks really lame)
Uh... what is the Starscream combiner doing to Quake?
I couldn't have said it better myself. The Dinobots just aren't supposed to combine. It's kind of the antithesis to their entire ethos.
And that Starscream/Quake photo is weird . . .

Anyways since I could not do this sooner, here is my sincerest apology, inspired by ones made by Spacey, Weinstein, and Louis C.K..
I am so very very very sorry for the words that I wrote on this forum, and for anyone and everyone that was offend by them, I hope you all know that I now know what I did was wrong and I hope you can see it in your hearts to forgive me.....because I am an evil man.
Now that all that is out of the way, I just wanted to say that I agree with the person above that said that is seems like fans of Beast Wars are just getting table scraps, and even though Beast Wars figures had better engineering compared to G1, does not mean they stood the test of time. Also it would be nice just to have more of them made in the modern line in my opinion. Because with the way its going they should just call the Generation line, the Generation One Character Only line.....just saying.
Also I do like the way the "Deluxe" sized figures look for the evolution Leader Class sets, but the "combined" "Super" modes leave a little to be desired. Rodimus has visible hand syndrome, and the shots of both of them from behind just look terrible.
So now I am just gonna sit and wait for them to ban me again for this post.
See y'all later.

The Hot-Rod / Rodimus Prime is not too bad too.
Starscream is very nice, but his torso mode is iffy. Maybe if he'll have some nice limbs to go with him...
As for the dinobots... erh... They don't excite me at all. Still, I wouldn't mind a G2 Dinobots box set.
