Thanks to Ozformers coverage of the Australian Toy Fair, we have some new images of the new Titan Class Predaking figure, shown on display in individual Predacon modes, combined Predaking mode, and with his G1 self! The new images show us just how much bigger Titan Class Predaking is compared to his G1 self, as well as how each figure looks compared to their older selves. Of note is how the new figures are not that much bigger than their G1 selves as individuals, but the combined form is much taller and skinnier. It is a bit sad to see G1 Predaking with a sword whereas his new self does not come with one, though he does have the faithful wrist gun.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Looking over the pics, the look of titan Predaking definitely fits the CW look. In some odd way that pleases me.

I don't buy third-party stuff anymore, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting a set of swords for Predaking (and I'm sure someone started designing them as soon as he/she found out the set hasn't any swords).

Titan Predaking looks like he's wearing a corsette (extra tight).

Sorry but that is not worth $150.

If it turns up at clearance for 50% off sometime next year I might be interested. Otherwise I'll just stick with the G1 set.

I'm guessing there's a sticker sheet missing.... and I'm *really* hoping those are just prototype hands.... why they'd file the spiked knuckles off.... I don't understand. Especially considering the Monstructor/Volcanicus fists are still spiked. It's also a crime we didn't get the BH Prime (?) sword. It's been supersized several times already and I *think* that's the sword the G1 reissue came with as well?

With the box image showing spik3d fists, I would imagine that the hands are incorrect, I hope. That would be sad to be missing out on spiked fists.

Nice "Father & Son Picnic" photos of Predaking there. Hopefully, we get a SDCC version with a sword because the missing sword will bother me enough to spend another $50 to get it.

That’s just artwork. He doesn’t have the spikes. The artist was probably given designs or like abominus just based it off the original.

Wasn't there a rough prototype picture floating about that had spikes? If I am recalling that correctly I wonder why they changed their mind on it?

That’s a mock-up. It was nothing but for scale. Divebomb and rampage are just arms. Literally arms.

I understood it was a mock-up, but I have to disagree slightly here. A mock-up wouldn't be done for scale alone. Generally in the design process a mock would be done to also give the chance for feedback and direction on where the lead wants the design to change slightly. It's often easier to do it in increments like that, then propose the final design and be forced to rehash something that may involve incredible back-tracking on your work. That's why I am curious as to where in the process they dropped the spikes.

Now that *would* be interesting if the HasCon/SDCC came with a sword and spiked knuckles. I will say I was sad there wasn't a "premium" Tyrpticon... those stickers... **** those stickers....

I'm also assuming we'll get wing stickers for divebomb

Maybe a designer accidentally stepped on a lego or something one night and said 'NO SPIKES!"

I was thinking the same thing on stickers, hoping that will be the case. As for sword and the spikes, well, I'll probably spring for 3rd party hands, but give him TFC's Ares sword.

Now there's something that deserved an individual release lol. PE might do an enlarged (gold) version of their Dinobots sword.

No becuase then you’ll complain that it’s just a recoolor. They’ll make their own sword and guns and charge $50 and then another set for hands and feet and charge another $50 and then you can say you spent an additional $100 on articulated hands and a sword and small guns that will be in the box while he stands on a shelf but hey, at lest he’s got spiked knuckles and articulated fingers? Yay?

good point on them selling it all separately.... and bundling the feet AND hands together... the feet he's got are fine

I've also never understood the *need* for articulated fingers... more often than not... just makes it harder for them to actually *hold* anything. but yay for letting them give someone the bird I guess?

It looks like 3 of the 5 will at least have weapons. The lack of sword, even a light saber type deal, is disappointing.

I would be interested to see the desgin process of TF toys and how they go from that to the finished figure. I know lego does a bunch of videos on their desgin methods. Perhaps the reason is that Hasbro's competitors and 3rd party stuff is more successful than any of lego's competitors. (other that TF Kreo, who needs any other bricks?)

I would have thought that hasbro and the third party would had similar design methodologies when it came to figures, especially where the third party contains ex-hasbro employees.

Still, I don't see any harm in holding out to see if weapons and spiked fists are coming as long as you know that the odds are definitely not in you favour. Fits my saying though aim low, strike high.

For $ 150,- this better not have stickers.

I don't think the price is too high, but cutting corners makes me feel underappreciated as a consumer. No sword, no guns, no spikes on the hands, come on Hasbro step up and go the extra mile for a change.

You are forgetting people also complain about the lack of weapons. While the spikes are a nitpick it just adds to the frustration that Hasbro is cutting corners. I doubt the lack of spikes would be the cause of a huge debate if the set came with weapons.

Blame it on the art/G1 figure. It’s the idea that they present an image of a character ( and his fists are rather unique into him). But given the fact of no swords, yeah a little extra plastic on the fists would be appreciated. I wouldn’t even care if they were blunted.

Also nobody’s talked about the arm cannon i’m sure that’d hollow shell of plastic. Even the G1 had a transformation to it.

The idea of “cutting corners” when you get above the $120 mark bothers me: like takara didnweigh devastator.... spend the extra $20 and do it right (or at least well).

Also just realized why (rampage?) the panther and dive bomb look off.... the shoulders are part of their beast/robot modes.... interesting.

Also i noticed the cannon breaks down into two parts. So that and dive bomb’s pistol makes 4. Maybe the feet can turn into something or have a hidden handle like devistator’s fists?

Upon further inspection, it does look like Predaking's gun is formed by the three guns Rampage, Razorclaw and Divebomb are holding in one of the pictures. Hopefully the other two members will be able to wield the feet as cannons. It would be great if the set comes with a sword but that it is still in development or something.

I am amazed at the size of the new bots compared to the originals. They are almost the same size. I still like this Predaking, its a definite buy for me. Like Devastator it'll fit in with the masterpiece figures.

The weapon count from what I can tell from the images of both Toy Fairs:

Razorclaw: 1, doubles as back of Predaking's gun
Rampage: 1, doubles as tail and as front of Predaking's gun
Divebomb: 2, double as Predaking shoulder cannons

My thoughts are that has a lot more bulk that his component parts seem to possess. Where is his lower torso and thighs coming from? Extra parts?

Headstrong and Torox/Tantrum form the whole leg this time around, including the thigh, those just hang off their backs or the underside of their Beast Modes. Razorclaw is filleted open and turned inside out, lastly Divebomb and Rampage have the sides and shoulders attached to them, like how the treads on Scavenger and Bonecrusher attach to Devastator.

Staring at the portraiture on the top of the box, it looks like Headstrong and Tantrum have some sort of shoulder mounted cannon, possibly the foot pegged on to their arms?

Some of us don't like supporting thieves and their knockoffs.

That said, I don't have a problem with add-ons since I consider things like fists and weapons generic. If someone makes a decent gun set or fists (just not the ugly ones with every joint articulated) I might be interested.

I believe that would depend on what the fanart was, who made it and if anyone profited off of it. You or I or anyone can make our own drawings of trademarked or copyrighted figures, shows, whatever, as long as it is for personal enjoyment and not being sold. As soon as you try to sell it, then the various copyright laws would apply. *Disclaimer* I am not a legal expert of these matters, that is just the general consensus I've heard from similar discussions on transformers and other items in the past.

I just hope if there is an SDCC version they announce it ahead of the retail version showing up in stores. They tend to keep these things quite until just before the con and this whole line so far has been showing up early.

Yeah, I didn't have any trouble getting Trypticon at Christmas for just over $80 after tax on Amazon at Christmas and have had several chances at getting him for similar prices on there since, I'm not too worried.

Yeah, Predaking is the first one I'm going to wait out for a good price. Seeing how Fort Max and Trypticon were still around for a while at discounts, I feel pretty safe waiting for a sale at Christmas on Predaking. Out of all the Titans so far, Predaking is the one that least interest me. So even if I miss out, it won't be that big of a deal for me. (At least that is what I'm telling myself for now.)

This new Predacon/Predaking set looks awesome to me. There really is no pleasing some people. Sacrifices and concessions are just a way of life when dealing with combiners. Some modes just get stuck with kibble when you try to balance a robot mode, alternate mode, and a limb/torso on top of that. When has this ever NOT been the case, honestly? I think what we have looks great and is obviously a big step up from the original toy(s). Predaking's slender waistline isn't that distracting to me. It seems to fit right in with the aesthetic started in Combiner Wars with combiner body shapes. Seriously, go take a look at your other toys. You'll be surprised. The only thing that I could see being a valid argument is the lack of a sword for the gestalt form. It's iconic, and it's missing. I'll have Power of the Primes Predaking borrow the sword (repainted from Beast Hunter Optimus Prime) included in the Thrilling 30 Platinum Edition Predaking release from a few years back. Other than the spiked "brass knuckles," there's not much else to find wanting.
