I don't know..).

Combiner Wars Skydive would probably have worked at least somewhat better as a base mold for Dreadwind if the CW Aerialbots had their plane tails end up on their backs like the G1 figures did. Because then his tail would be in the perfect position to link with Blackwing's cockpit section just like the original toys did. Setting that aside, a smaller thing they could have done that would have helped would've been a couple of tabs on Blackwing's shoulder area with matching holes in the soles of Dreadwind's feet.

Long-time listener, first time caller.

I've been following along with TF toys for a little bit now, mainly watching Emgo and Thew's stuff, and seeing how cool CW and TR was, but not buying much. I got some deluxe TR's for my desk at work. Anyway, my son is up to being able to transform these figures now, and so we are almost done completing most of the Power of the Primes sets he will want. I am trying to fill in some gaps with the more readily available CW stuff that can combine with the POTP guys, and I really appreciate the tips about Wreck-Gar in this thread, I guess Walgreens is good for more than filling prescriptions.

Does anyone have any tips on easily-available deluxes to grab? We've got Jazz, Novastar, the Terrorcons, and Dinobots, but he is getting some voyagers for Christmas and I would like to be able to get him as far along as he can so he can battle three or four big combiner guys.

Also, is there anything else out there like Amazon Warehouse? They sold me a Novastar for like five bucks off as "used" just because her packaging was bent - otherwise the figure is intact.

Combiner Wars limbs/torsos are getting kinda pricey. How do you feel about KOs? If you're cool with KOs the KO threads are a good place to start to start. 1:1 Superion parts just popped up (gotta watch out for the OS stuff, unless that's what you're into).

Welcome to the forum . As for PotP, it depends on where you live. In wave 1 there was also Dreadwind, and his partner Blacking was in waves 2 & 4 (should be pretty easy to get). It sounds like you pretty much got all the others. As for easy-to-obtain deluxes from CW... if you dont mind getting them loose/complete you can probably look over eBay for some good lots. Otherwise, individually some of them can be kind of pricey.

TFSource can sometimes have some good prices and used figures, transformerland has fair pricing, there's all the various Japanese import sites and when you're ready for a walk on the dark side, check AliExpress and Sir Toys.

Went to three Walgreens this morning and the second store had three of him! I got one for myself and was really tempted to grab all three to try and make an all-Junkion-limbed combiner, but I resisted the temptation and only took one, leaving the other two for other people to have a fair shot at getting.

Haven't opened him yet. Got him when I was on my way out, so he's now sitting in the car for the next few hours until I get back in the car and head back home later this evening.

Congrats also. My son I think opened our Wreck-Gar the day we got him, though the BB Movie set with the 3 TR Soundwave minions sat around for a few days.

In other news, in contemplating and reworking my grand plan to have 100% all complete, all characters used for combiners, I've discovered it's not four heroic, and one evil deluxe I need, but in fact, it's 5 heroic deluxes I need.

Dunno. Maybe Inferno, I guess. I'd actually already laid out a plan for every CW/UW/Potpie combiner, which involved only a single Wreck-Gar as the idea of a Junkion combiner only came to me when I was at the store seeing three Wreck-Gars available. Getting multiples to make said Junkion combiner would, while a neat idea, go against that plan of mine.

I'm tempted to try and hunt down a Wreck-Gar at some point, swap his head out for another Junkion and along with some other assorted CW/POTP figures, make a custom Junkion Combiner team (perhaps called Rusticiar). I'm planning on tracking down DX9's Splinter as my Wreck-Gar, as he's a Voyager roughly (perfect as a "leader" character), he looks cool and scale is out the window with motorcycle bots anyway.

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian nycprime, we have word that Walgreens.com now has Wreck Gar listed, and he is in stock! Wreck Gar is currently listed as $17.99 online, and you can get free shipping from Walgreens with orders over $35.

Wreck Gar is a slight retool and repaint of the Combiner Wars deluxe Groove mold, complete with a new Junkion color and slightly shrunken down Wreck Gar head. The figure comes with the axe weapon his Generations counterpart had years ago, and he also comes with the Prime Armor AKA the hand weapon. He also will come with one of the Power of the Primes cards, so any collectors looking for all 12 versions of the Wreck Gar card will be looking for your cards!

This figure is most likely designed to combine with Jazz, Moonracer, and Novastar as the limbs to either Elita Inf1nite or the Inferno combiner, though the art work on the packages for those voyagers appear to indicate Elita as the more likely recipient of this Junkion limb. Hopefully she doesn't start speaking in commercials and TV phrases.

Sabrblade! Was it you who mentioned that Wreck-Gar's elbows are swapped from the factory?

Mine were. A minor repair, but not necessarily an easy one. Just took some slightly scary pushing and twisting to get those mushroom pegs to slide out. Not to mention correcting the position of the front fork was a bit freaky. It's turned 180 so it fits in the blister. The plastic is soft and should be handled delicately.

I bought 2 more Wreck-Gars for my brother and another friend, and their elbows are on the wrong side too. I'm guessing this is a widespread mis-assembly.

What's with all the factory errors/mis-assemblies lately?

Initially I would blame it on the switch of operation form Hong Kong to Vietnam (cheaper labor, less QC), but I'm sure there;s more to it than that. Also I heard a rumor a while back that operations could change again to India in the next couple years. Not sure if that was just an unfounded rumor though.

Purely esthetic, really.
Although his elbow joints were dislocating very easily, and I after I swapped them, his forearms stayed in place better and the soft ratchet was tighter.

EDIT: Also, I don't have it in front of me, but I think the picture on the back of the card show these pieces assembled correctly.

It's Alpha Trion because the Alpha Trion cards are mostly based on his role as a historian (There are a couple exceptions; Elita's for example draws instead on his rebuilding her and Optimus' former selves into mighty warriors). And binging through the entirety of any sort of archive plays into that. The Vector Prime cards generally have more to do with Veccy's time powers.

That's exactly my point. One would think, in order to Binge all of TV, there would have to be some sort of time travel element involved...because obviously much of past TV was lost to time, since many things were recorded over on a daily basis in order to conserve use of magnetic tape in a pre digital age. Dr. Who fans know this pain all too well .

I know that science fiction has played with the idea several times that *alien civilizations* living (for example), in a star system 20 LY away could be picking up TV signals from 20 years ago etc..., but I'm pretty sure TV signals have a limit, and it's all based more on fiction, than science, such as in the case of Junkions watching Earth TV in the first place.

I fixed mine today and found that pulling the whole arm off the ball joint makes it much easier, but still that grey plastic they used is worryingly soft. After the swap, it just seems to work a little bit better, but that's probably just in my head, looks better in alt-mode at least.

I was going to take some pics too. However, I don't think I'll be doing the fix. This distinguishes Wreck Gar ever so slightly from Groove. Besides, it looks kind of "junky"...
