Actually, no. I've never been big at all into Japanese G1 (save for their having had Minerva), so I'm happy with Hasbro's.

I know all the money I've saved has been going in the right direction. Bought a completely new bed (mattress, frame, bedding, the works) and a carpet cleaner.

i imagine a lot, really. in previous cases, they have different deco and boxes than hasbro, so they just imported the unpainted mold from hasbro, and then repaint it themself, and then print their own packaging. in this new case, not only does there's no need to repaint the figures, if you pay attention, the japanese name on the packaging is just stickers, that just slapped over hasbro's packaging to cover hasbro logo. means they literally just imported hasbro product as is and slapped stickers on the box. the cost of paints and packagings are now replaced by cost for small stickers only. that should save a lot, really. i just hope all those money saved goes to the right direction.
Bro' Same China/Vietnam factories Nothing imported from Hb. Just different job orders. . At least back then. Now we have the unified product roll out.(six month delay for the JP market)
As for the costs going down, the reports that Takara/Tomy having financial troubles might just be one of the reasons why they caved so fast and went for the unification business model.
The other reason is that the JPs aren't making too many kids for their kids toylines. Only manchildren are the ones buying

Well that's a problem only the Japanese can solve (maybe they should let a few more immigrants in if the locals aren't reproducing)
Anyways...I'm quite taken by this inferno, I do have fun with the hotspot mold. If he makes his way to the UK I may pick him up.

Take care with yours! Maybe shave down those pegs so they don't lock in as securely; that way there'll be less stress and they hopefully won't be as likely to snap? (I knew it was never a good idea to make such vast expanses of the toy out of clear plastic...)

It's those pointy bits behind his shoulders, one is snapped off and the other has a crack and is clearly not going to hold up much longer. He's been in a box with other Transformers so maybe the weight was part of it, but the constant pegging and unpegging of transformation is clearly exerting a lot of stress on those parts as well... the side that's not already snapped bends worryingly when I transform him now.

This is great news to anyone looking for Power of the Primes Inferno. Though it means the wait for the next Generations voyagers will be longer (we don't even know what that will be yet). Inferno was found at Target in Modesto California (largest city of Stanislaus County) by TF fan Eddy.

Modesto, CA has a much bigger claim to fame than being the largest city in Stanislaus County. It is the birthplace of George Lucas!

All the Pretenders and Primal in wave 3 have me pumped, nothing left in wave 2 I want. I was in High School during Beast Wars so collecting Transformers was the last thing on my mind. New molds of Beast Wars characters are always welcomed.
Same here, I've decided I'm not getting the Terrorcons, so at this point I'm just twiddling my thumbs until Optimal Optimus becomes available. The only things from wave 2 I still want are Snarl and Elita-1, though I may just hold on and get them at TFNation in August.

I'm tempted too to be honest, because I have a soft spot for Hot Spot... That just sounds odd. Plus, I got a repurpose idea thanks to a Korean KO animation. You all know which one.

I am not farmiliar with him as a character, but he looks like a friendly sort. Looks like he was in the IDW comics breifly but also featured in some of the old Marvel comics. I know he was in G1 but I don't recall the episode too much. I'll re-watch it one of these days though, maybe once I am done catching up on the Wrecker's series. (Which I hope to finish this weekend so I can read Requiem as soon as possible.)

That mold is dull ugly trash too. Looks like one of those cruddy KO toys found in cheap stores.

I can understand someone not liking the mold (it is quite a departure from Inferno's usual look) but calling it on par with a KO is just silly. I'd argue with the partscount, paint apps and general care put into the figure it's less KOish than a lot of modern figures. Sure it's not MP-standards but it's still a good figure.

He might mean the shape, or design, or the physique of that mold, rather than the decos.fenrir72 wrote:Carnivius_Prime wrote:Emerje wrote:Carnivius_Prime wrote:Kind of a boring repaint figure. I am actually thinking of tracking down one for myself. If anyone does own Inferno can you tell me what the plastic quality is like?

WreckerJack wrote:I am actually thinking of tracking down one for myself. If anyone does own Inferno can you tell me what the plastic quality is like?
Plastic quality is standard and the clear parts aren't structural so he's pretty solid. Plus he doesn't have massive open gaps in his arms and legs. He also has a pretty fun transformation. Plus, to Hasbro's credit, Grapple has a bunch of new molded parts in his arms, hands, feet, various panels, the crane, and of course the head. Sure, a ladder on Inferno would have looked better in truck mode, but it's obvious in bot mode why they couldn't.

The basic blue print that Takara invested in them years ago. When hollow was the exception and not the norm. When paint apps rarely melted off. When box packaging were sturdier stuff,

but I'm also glad I will have Inferno in a different mold than Grapple, make him a bit more unique. And he looks very IDW with that robot mode, so I'm fine with it. He may even get a team and combine some, but I'm not sure yet. I could give him Lost Lightatron's limbs, or the autobot limbs from the line and keep Elita her own person (and she is really good to me as her own person, she looks good with PotP Prime, TR Laser Prime, and Alpha Trion).
But I swear, if I find Inferno before the wave 2 deluxes or prime masters, I will celebrate and flip the flip out.

There is no longer a slot for the leg tab to slide through before it locks in for alt mode. You know have to bend the plastic out and over to get the tab in the hole.
