On the back you can see it on the top left. That's not a bad price in the end. Be probably around 89.99 in US. I see it I'm getting it.

Well, if you only went by the thrilling 30's list of exclusive figures, then yes, otherwise I thought it was a great year for tf's one of the best even, based on the variety of the figures offered
Late reply, busy job.
It was varied, absolutley. It also launched a load of ideas that didn't really work for me. 1, 2 and 3 step changers got better in 2015, for instance. Besides variety, I also saw a LOT of stressmarks, rubber (which I dislike) and boring figures. Aside from mvoie Galvatron, I got rid of them all.
Mainly it's the exclusives that bothered me. So many double releases and updated paintjobs... Zero spectacle. 2015 squashed 2014 in regular retail and in exclusives.

I have too many of each mold, so this will be a pass for me. However this is a good opportunity for those newer to collecting to get a few really nice figures.
I'm afraid though, at $110 + tax they won't be flying off the shelves.
EDIT:
Duh, forgot to mention. Spotted the RID 2-packs and the mini-con 4 pack at the Trafalgar Walmart this morning. A few people on Cybertron.ca found them a few days ago, but this is the first time I've seen them. Really diggin' the new molds. Legends and Scouts are my crack, so I'm happy to pick these up.

If they show up at TRU and I can use my rewards? I'll bite. I want that box art and sticker! And yeah, I guess Hot Rod and the Junkions too.D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Haha, in the bio. sweet! It's a shame really. I'm one of the few fans who's been universally happy with the Platinum releases thus far, but this set is a huge waste. People love troop building, and I'd have bought this set if those Junkions were different at all. After seeing the price in the currency of my homeland, $110 didn't even seem that bad. They just look too damn much like the originals.Down_Shift wrote:Good find!

Yeah, if it had come with springer (in a new/different/accurate deco), arcee (in tt's deco), a junkion (in a new deco + fixed parts), and wreck-gar, that would've been amazing

You remember Transformers: the Movie very differently than I do...

Seems to me that Hot Rod ended the fighting, just as the packaging says. In fact, Kup was ready to join in the fighting...

HR: Guns aren't exactly friendly. Kup: Neither are they if you hadn't noticed. HR: What was that universal greeting again..oh wait I remember. "Bah-weep-granah weep ni ni bong." Wreck-Gar: Bah-weep-granah weep ni ni bong? HR says it again, Wreck-Gar shouts it, the Junkions shout it repeatedly, Dare to be Stupid swells, Wheelie breakdances, Grimlock gets kissed and complains "Me Grimlock no kisser, me Grimlock king!".Agamemnon wrote:You remember Transformers: the Movie very differently than I do...Mr O wrote:As far as I can tell, all he did was make everyone do a silly dance. itscramtastic wrote:Back on topic..any other good ideas on TF:TM 30th Platinum Packs?!
The ideas have all been good, just not the implementation.
Optimus Prime Vs Megatron? No brainer. Or you'd have thought. One Prime mold everyone has already seen too much of and a Megatron mold that really isn't Megs at his best.
Thought - if they wanted to do something a little more interesting, I'd rather the set cost more, but was G2 Laser-Rod Prime Vs Combiner Wars Leader Megatron. Prime could be very G1 themed, with a new rifle and Megs could have a few paint apps to more resemble G1 Megatron.
Battle for Junk three pack? Cool. Remold unreleased in the USA before? also cool. God awful colour choices on Hot Rod and both junkions having a veeery similar deco? No.
Thought - Battle for Junk (imo) should've been Scrap-Heap, another motorcycle figure repainted as a Junkion and Arcee and Blurr if they were going to use 'new' molds. If they were going for reissues - Wreck-Gar and another Wreck-Gar in crazy colours with an anime Hot Rod or even Springer would've blown my mind.
Rodimus Vs Galvatron. So. SO... SOOO. They choose one of the worst Rodimus toys and then dump it with one of the worst Galvatron toys and try to pass it as 'premium'? Just... no.
This is the one set where I'd have wanted G1 all the way. Hot Rod (anime colours) and Galvatron (anime colours, not light purple) would've had me possibly in tears. T.E.A.R.S. Instead - I'm crying for all the wrong reasons.
and you wanna know what ELSE would've been sweet?
Masterpiece Ultra-Magnus.

I'm still surprised the US hasn't seen a animation accurate G1 Galvatron reissue. I also can't believe how many times I missed out on D62S

In general, I'm in agreement. (I own Hasbro's G1 Galvy, after all.) But, if we are wishing for a re-issue anyway, why not wish for one even more screen accurate.
Truthfully, I thought that Takara re-issue too lavender... Makes me think Galvy is sweet and nice...

I thought painting it silver costed Takara more than painting it a darker bluer color

I love my G1 Galvatron, he's probably in the best shape of all of my heavily played with G1s. And I would LOVE to own D62S, so no problems with "light urple" here Megatronus BUT!! Blue-purple, a "blurple", would be preferable I think. Or Honda paint code B95P, Electron Blue Pearl.Agamemnon wrote:In general, I'm in agreement. (I own Hasbro's G1 Galvy, after all.) You know what? I've got some of that around somewhere..depending on the lighting it was blue, dark blue, blurple.
Come to think of it, Mazdas Indigo Lights Mica may work better. Hmm.
Ponder this, I will.

I think I'd go $49.99..I think. It would only be my 3rd version of Rodimus in that mold. Can I reverse the scene and it be Rodimus Junkions (Rodimukions?) vs. Wreck-Gar and his moto-buddy Scrapheap? I meant the Maiden japan/Lucky Rogers upgrade kits for a Junkion Medic and Warrior. They're paint matched more to RTS Wreck-gar's original mold (but with the Junkions mix-matching and stuff would be an okay aesthetic...) I was thinking of another upgrade kits name mix-mashed with that set lol
