At Botcon 2000, I saw fan art of him facing down G2 Bruticus in answer to that query, but this is a lot more insightful.
Was this by the same guys that did all that fanfic+mosaics about Jhiaxus creating the Duocons shortly before the Arcee experiment, playing off IDW continuity? They made Flywheels seem almost too disturbing for my tastes, but played up his particular insanity hinted at in his tech specs enough to make him a more unique character than when he showed up officially in the UK book.
Mosaics will be missed, but there's always DeviantArt!

And the Decepticon at the end appears to be a Duocon combiner "Flywheel" if I remember correctly. His size in the last frame is confusing, the forced perspective of being at the end of the car wash alley isn't excecuted very well. Makes him look like a tiny robot up on a shelf close to Huffer...and what does flywheel have to do with pestering anybody. I think a better choice for this (if you were going to go with the whole suicide theme) would have been Mindwipe.
I've enjoyed most of the Mosaics in general but this ones just a little MEH. Whatever...

Don't understand the connection with Flywheels. Is the carwash connnected to some comic story from the past? Carwash of Doom?

WarMachine555 wrote:wait, who is that guy at the end? and what happened to Huffer?
Flywheels, who is implied to be the one who sent Huffer the messages.
Huffer it seems got depressed and slit his wrists to kill himself.

Though car-washes do have negative connotations in both continuities: just as the comics had Ratbat's Carwash of Doom, so did the cartoon's most idiotic episode 'Prime Target' feature a car-wash trap that Lord Chumley used to catch Jazz. If I were an Autobot in a continuity in which either of those stories actually happened, driving by a car-wash might just make me want to kill myself too.

Yes, it was Simon and me.
And you could check out the art section of this forum, to find more projects, like The Lost Seasons, Unknown Soldiers and Seeds Of Deception.
The Jhiaxus/Flywheels Mosaics by Simon and me belonger to the latter, which is our take on the IDW+WarWithin continuity.

Im fairly certain the car wash is paying homage to the "wash and roll"" from #31, there's a Blackrock sign.

Simon even designed a Beast Wars Huffer with a reindeer alt mode.
And, of course, Simon's favorite character is Flywheels, which he wrote and penciled more than once (see his DA page!).

M3Gr1ml0ck wrote:The death of Huffer at the hands of Flywheels is the last act of the "friendly rivalry" between Simon and Novastorm73. They have been "at war" since the day Simon included a reindeer in a Christmas Mosaic and, as Novastorm73's favorite character is Huffer, Simon tried to off him in every way he could.

Thanks for sharing the background. It makes sense now and adds humor and depth to the piece.

Is there actually a full comic to this story? Because I would love to read it!
