Go ahead, Prowl, try to scratch your ear.
You post an interesting dilemma. Do Transformers get itches? Hm!
Great mosaic, though!

1. Prowl presented as once not having been a prick?
2. The Helix Gardens: A place for tranquil contemplation AND a good party it seems!

Internal dialog tends to be heard differently than what is spoken in certain aspects. Think of it as a well educated person that originally grew up in the hood or in the backwoods, or a rich suburbanite trying to act street. Their outward speech patterns will be different than an external representation.
Which could lead to be a deep dark secret that Prowl pretends to be a prick most of the time so the other bots don't dig and try to find out that he was from some po' dunk out laying colony where they use to mine energon and drink home made moon shine!
Outside of that, man the artwork is the best I've seen in a while and this is great jump for IDW fans.

Well spotted. I didn't mean for this to go un-credited, but yes I did take inspiration from this custom of sideswipe . I've yet to post the artwork on my Deviantart, but when I do I will definetly give the due credit and post the link to this awesome custom.
And thanks to everyone who likes the artwork

Given his logical persona, I don't like him speaking like that either. I always felt he should be written like Data from Star Trek. Handled correctly, it would make a great character with lots of comedic value. That said, when I watch the 890's Trek movies, I imagine Kirk, McCoy and Spock as Prime, Ratchet and Prowl. Three similar charcters and their interactions are always enjoyable. Be nice to port them into Prime, Prowl and Ratchet.
Dreamwave, Tech Spec, Budiansky and G1 cartoon Prowl were not pricks. In fact, they were nice, approachable characters. It's Furman and IDW that made him a prick. I prefer his earlier non prick incarnations though at least Roche and Roberts made him cool. In fact they made him Batman. as a friend of mine once pointed out, the thing about Batman is, he's smarter than everyone else.
Anyway, apologies for my digressing. I'm just a huge Prowl fan and I'm tired of the flak he gets because of writers who never read his tech specs.
Nice mosaic with amazing artwork.

gothsaurus wrote:Yeah, I hate it when he's depicted as a jerk. AND nice comparison... while they're not as exaggerated as Spock, etc. That is totally the personality and roles of those three. Ratchet's voice is pretty spot on Mccoy as well.
I'll put my vote in for agreeing with the Trek comparisons but i do have to say that I don't mind him being depicted as something of a jerk so long as it's understood why he is like that, which a lot of folks just don't get.
Great Mosaic, great art. Always enjoy seeing the War Within versions of our favorite bots.

Yeah, I admit I wasn't too happy with Furman's Prowl near the end of the Marvel comic run. It seemed like he was just there to make Furman's pet Grimlock be right and cool about everything, even though it seemed to run counter to how Budiansky portrayed Grimlock earlier.
