Good Mosaic, as it helps fill a gap in IDW continuity; it's been rationalized that Arcee couldn't have been Jhiaxus's only gender experiment because other fembots showed up in Megatron Origin. Fracture being a repaint of a male character was a perfect choice too, and Crasher's original white toy has a good 'prehistory' association paralleling what Diaclone and co. are to TF prehistory. Well thought out.

It was a group effort, as you can see. The "High Beams" issue was considered, but then we decided to keep it for another story (one more fun-oriented).
Only one note: Crasher was genderless, even though the common pronoun is "he" (just like Arcee explained).
Since there were no Females, before Jhiaxus' experiments, we supposed that there were no Males as well.
Actually, another theory is that Jhiaxus implemented Alpha Male routines on his own CNA.

It's an early version of Battletrap, just a nod to our projects for them.

Could see it happen with their mold brother Mirage eventually. Not the first time a female fictional character would have used the name Mirage. Incredibles or New Mutants anyone?

You forgot C.O.P.S., which might actually share more names with Transformers proportionally than G.I.Joe. Granted, they didn't do toys of the 4 female characters, of which Mirage might be the least memorable.
Wasn't there an evil cat-woman named Mirage in the Aladdin cartoon too?

Yes, but Hasbro acquired the rights to the GoBots characters, but not the molds: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/GoBots_%28franchise%29
Also, is there really any reason for GoBots NOT to exist in Transformers continuity in this day and age? The toy wars are over, Transformers won and is thriving, and some of the GoBot figures are actually pretty nifty.

Not to mention the many cameos they had in The War Within, for instance.
