i know right? ive been eyeballing that stupid botcon vector sigma for like 2 years trying to get one for less than 100 bucks. but now? screw that!

That Masterpiece Op is tempting but money's tight.

I don't collect a lot of Masterpieces. Just the big characters. Starscream, Soundwave, Grimlock, and the original Masterpiece Optimus Prime. I would've gotten Rodimus and Megatron too, but I heard the quality is poor on those.

Is it worth the upgrade to a second Masterpiece Optimus?

So glad I have him on preorder. Better start setting some aside!

Yea i bought Rodimus when he came out,transformed him 5 times with in a week and his plastic ankle broke, that is when I stopped collecting masterpiece and went to legends,they just don't make them the way the 1st mp-o1 was created

as with other "extras" that have been released with MP's lately, im sure you can find them via ebay and even some online retailers. that said, this vector sigma set will probably be extremely popular. if it is found separately, it wont be for long.

verrrrryyy nice. especially compared to the grimlock throne...

I got my MP-10 last week and I love it. I had the KO and sold it to get the reissue so I have a good comparison of the two and both have their pros and cons. I definitely prefer the official TRU colors but the chest does close better on the KO. I really like the Key but Vector Sigma itself is underwhelming.

Here it is with Grimlock's crown, the Key, and the Matrices from MP-10, MP-09's chest and TRU opening ones. It's standing on a Kre-O cone piece because it likes to roll off the paper stand.



Here's Vector Sigma with Kreon Alpha Trion and MP-10's foot for scale.



And finally, here's the Key in Prime's hand.



It's a beautiful piece of shiny gold diecast. I recommend it to anyone who is interested. Just don't be surprised that Vector Sigma is smaller than a ping pong ball.

The old Unicron.com one was at least the size of a tennis ball, and was able to have its Key put into it.

Not cool, Takara/Hasbro Asia/whoever. Not cool at all.

The Botcon versions were larger though not the size of a tennis ball. I'd have comparison pics but I sold my Botcon set on eBay last year. I was expecting something comparable in size as well but the Key is perfect and the ball is scaled to fit. You can plug the Key in just like before but it keeps wanting to roll because the Key is diecast so it ends up with a ridiculously high center of gravity. The Key is worth the price of admission alone.

EDIT: I managed to get the Key to be balanced on the Kre-O piece.



And I dug up my old SCF Alpha Trion from 2002 (Primus, that was a long time ago!) I think it really works well like this especially with Alpha's weird open and outward facing palms. It's like he was presenting it 12 years before it came out!

Ditto! Mp-11 too!! cant wait! I want them to retool and mod Megatron and release him with a beefed up leg apparatus and fix his torso and arms, and make the definitive version in scale with MP-10

bought a vector sigma seperately off ebay and got it last night. its pretty nice, but that diecast key is soooooo satisfying. id buy a dozen if i could. all it lacks is a stand. but the only alternatives are a long retired 3P unicron.com set, and a highly overpriced botcon set. this new set is amazing!

Those are the same thing. Unicron.com made the BotCon 2007 Vector Sigmas.

it was this auction right here. 40 bucks, which may seem high, but to me its better than buying a second MP10 (which i planned to save for a rainy day). also i was combining shipping with the remaining MP collector coins i was missing

The original Key was like 13 years ago but it was burnished metal and awesome. I had it and lost it when I moved. The Botcon set was the same key but in a yellow sparkly plastic.

Man, I wish I still had my old Key's for comparison!

It's more than a month later and I got a EX-Gokin Alpha Trion and he goes great with MP-10 and the Vector Sigma and Key set. Trion's stand plugs into the key slot on Vector Sigma itself nearly perfectly. Here's a quick few pics of them together.

a few pages back we surmised that this rumour was unlikely, as its quite old now and theres yet to be a follow-up.

It depends on what you want... some people really like the darker shades on the Takara version over the lighter ones on Hasbro's. Also, the joints on my Takara MP10 are much tighter and sturdier than on Hasbro's original MP10 (although the Hasbro Asia reissue might be tighter).

We also don't have all the details yet, but the previous reissue came with a cool stand. I imagine this reissue will come with some accessory to incentivize current owners of the mold (like myself) to double or triple dip on this reissue as well. Maybe that will be Vector Sigma again, maybe something else. Time will tell.

I'm not sure who to tell, but BBTS also has a first quarter preorder for Black Rodimus Convoy listed in addition to Bumble and Convoy.

The dead eyes are a perennial complaint, but I like the darker colors on Takara's much better. I ended up swapping out the original eyes with YOTH eyes. Now he's perfect.
