i just placed my order - hopefully your surmise turns out to be correct. I was never gonna get this one cos i already have mp-01, but since i have no trailer and this one has that incredible price (surely some mistake!) just did a quick check on ebay and japanese imports are price at about £170!

I think I'll be all OP'ed out... well besides voyager classics and the original g1

I purchased the original MP-10 a few days ago and I am waiting for it to be delivered. I prefer the colours of MP-10 over the TRU release, but for this price...

And yet I can't find it anywhere, online and at my local Toys "R" Us.

The default shipping option (to the Netherlands) does indeed cost the £7 you mention. However, you should choose the super-saver shipping, which is free (orders over £25 qualify). If I were you, I'd place another order and cancel your first one.

Whilst I have placed an order, this has *got* to be a mistake. The original MP Prime was £60 here and this retails for $130 stateside, given Hasbros £1=$1 exchange rate, I'd wager that somebody has missed a "1" off the front of that price.

Still, got to be in it to win it and I would LOVE to be proved wrong...

i just ordered total is 34.19 EUROS which turns out to be $45 bucks shipped? This has got to be a mistake? Also i live in the US and it only cost 5 EURO to ship to NYC? I never thought you can order from Amazon from another country. but order is placed. whats also weird is that list price was 34.99 euros and when i checked out it was only 29 euros and 5 Euros shipping. this all seems too good to be true. I have a feeling there will be cancel orders.. =/

I decided to put in an order for 2 - it's basically 2 for the price of 1 in US dollars. So happy... So... happy...

unfortunately the super saver isn't available in all eu countries : (

and for the american shoppers - the price went down when you placed the order probably due to the VAT being removed i guess

The timing is lousy. I finally bought one from eBay a few weeks ago, (still waiting for him to arrive.)

wow.. updated my order and shipping estimate went from jan 31st to feb 31st.

this has GOT to be a mistake. I had no intention of owning this, but at that price? ordered. someones getting sacked in the morning...

I ordered a couple delivered to the states and the total was just over $105. IF this is legit, man, steal of a deal.

If this is legit this will be my third mp tru prime. I paid $200 for the import, $99 for the tru preorder, and now $46 for this one. I think I might have recouped some of my money from the import if this goes through.
I'm not a scalper either, I am a crazy collector who buys 3 of everything, 2 to open and display in both modes and 1boxed to store away in my attic or what I call my time capsule.

it looks like amazon themselves are selling it, so I wouldnt worry.

What's up with the batteries included???? The two that I have don't say anything about batteries.

I took the risk and ordered one too. $34.11 shipped to MA. I can wait until mid-February for a deal like that.


EDIT: I went back and looked at my order again and noticed it's 34.11 GBP. So I used a currency converter and it should come out to just over $55 US. That's still a lot better than buying it stateside - if you can find one.

I am also very, very pleased with the way Amazon has been kicking the royal snot out of scalpers and the big online toy sellers who try to mirror their prices these days. I literally bought from amazon all year and not only got things at retail or cheaper, but usually with free shipping, which were outrageous elsewhere at the time.

I bought the Combaticons from amazon at retail price with free shipping at a time when BBTS was trying to sell the five of them for nearly 100 dollars plus shipping. I got the Ultimate Gift Set at 27.00 and free shipping when it was 40.00 plus shipping on the 2 big "collector's sites" for a pre order.

In fact, their price for MP Thundercracker a couple of months ago (cheaper than at retail!)is probably the biggest reason TRU scalpers RETURNED their supplies of that toy. I sincerely hope this continues!!

I'm thinking about returning my us tru prime and ordering 2 of these. Damn damn damn, it's tempting but if they adjust the cost I'm screwed. " A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" I guess.

This reminds me of two things. First, when Wal-Mart priced Ultimate Bumblebee at $35. They honored the price--I bought two.

Second, there is no reason MP Prime has to be priced at $99 or more. Most of the Masterpieces released state-side were originally priced at $60 or less. It's only Toys R Us that jacks up the price to the ether. Let's also not forget that MP figures at Wal-Mart went for half the original price or less at some points.

Considering that Amazon in my experience has a history of unbelievable offers, including any ROTF Human Aliiance figure for $10 to $15, I'd say their offering MP Prime at half price completely intentionally is plausible. Toys R Us is taking the "limited edition" stance, but it's resulted in poor distribution and fewer sales. Amazon may just be taking the economy of scale stance: Sell cheap, and you'll sell a ton.

For the record, I did have one order canceled by Amazon, but not due to pricing error. There was a hard drive advertised on their site at a much lower price than others. They canceled the order after a few weeks because they couldn't get it in stock due to the supply shortage cause by flooding in Thailand.

I put in my order. Time will tell.

Heh. When I originally ordered mine it was #7 in Toys & Games, it's now #1.

wow ! what a steal !! Toys r us in the USA is selling one for $130 and no shipping. So I just ordered 4 of these LOL, going to use them as Christmas Presents ! Wondering if I should order more to be honest, LOL. With Shipping it only came out to $53.25 for each one.

Even though I am waiting for my original MP-10 to arrive, I ordered this one as well. The price is low and there are no shipping costs to The Netherlands. I would not mind adding the Hasbro version as well to my collection, but I doubt that this will come through. I believe it to be a mistake. We will have to wait and see.
