I don't call ONE of each remaining on the pegs "peg-warmers".
Those pegs looks pretty bare and cold.
It still doesn't count which characters it is. If the shelves barely have anything, we just can't call them "pegwarmers."

An excellent point but alas its all Speed Demon And Lady Beetle
And i realize this is old news by now, but i picked up Core Shockwave out of my box again today and was remind what an absolute delight he is. Similar to the ol Combinar Wars one, special in the legs, but truer to the Siege Voyager just teeny

Odds are no. Canada doesn't get stuff first often. That Earthspark stuff was a fluke. Asia usually gets stuff first due to proximity of the manufacturing.

He has a great presence to him to start. When you flush out his wings like they were meant to be out, he takes up so much space and casts a hell of a shadow. And the paint work on his wings is really good. i love the fading effects on them, and the translucent plastic was used great.
I am OK with the face, I know the problems with it, but I am OK with it.
I love the ponytail still being there, even if head articulation is a little hindered by it. But the entire sculpt with the ponytail is really good.
I do wish the arms had a little more beef to them, but considering the original had that look to it, I'm not that bothered.
His components in both modes tab in pretty solid, so you can manipulate him and mess with him a lot without fear of having him come apart.
The transformation is pretty logical, but it is a fun thing to do. I love how the arms work to get his torso solid and dynamic.
His dragon mode, PHEW! I LOVE IT! It has such a great presence to it, even better than robot mode. He can throw some great shapes, and he looks fierce. The flame effect works well in this mode too, I appreciate that accessory.
So yeah, Megatron gets my seal of approval. He is really damn good. I love him.
Also, Armada Starscream is still pretty good.

Nice. Hopefully he becomes more widely available after all. I also saw him twice in store, the 1st time I grabbed him for myself and the 2nd time for a fellow collector in my area. He really is a fun mold. I hope Hasbro finds another use for him somehow. SG Cosmos would have been a no-brainer IMO.SGMLordMirage wrote:A surprisingly find today at my local Walmart. I would say the no-brainer use is going to be Pathfinder, along with a green Warpath for Treads. I'm actually suprised Treads hasn't happened yet.

Very cool. Collecting this stuff is best when we all get what we want.

Perhaps a future Buzzworthy release? Though Cosmos would require a new head and I'm not sure what alternate they may have included with the mold if any.

You might be flying blind no matter what. All the stores by me are swimming in Road Rocket, Blurr or Burn Out. None of them show up as available at any of the stores near me and Walmart's website.

At this point, I honestly think Walmart chose to get the Legacy Beast and Velocitron exclusives in lieu of deluxe wave 2 ( and maybe wave 3). Unless anyone can confirm seeing deluxe wave 2 or 3 at a U.S. Walmart?

I've seen Jhiaxus and Blitzwing at Walmart for a couple months now, but not at Target. It's too early to complain about not seeing wave 3 Voyagers or Megatron yet.
I've only seen Core wave 1 in stores, that goes for Studio Series as well.

Pointblanks the weaker of the two. Not much point in a nice big clear canopy if nothing can sit in him. Articulation is pretty restricted but I still think I prefer him over a TR repaint like the Takara legends Manga suggested. I've not transformed him yet. Think I prefer the G1 toy still. The arms could have done with a double joint or just being a bit longer to help them bend and the proportions.
Crankcase is great other than his rear cannons. The paint on the rear seems very similar to bee dropkick car mode, whilst shiny and nice, likely to scratch. Hopefully he will get some more trigger masters to join him at some point.

Blame the OG design for that. Those shoulder pads ain't made for Cirque Du Soleil antics.
My real complaint is that he doesn't come with his shield/spoiler like the OG G1 toy. Plus those gaps on the back of the legs are sad. I bought an upgrade kit for those so let's hope someone will make the spoiler/shield soon.

I'm glad it's not just me that is only seeing wave 1 stuff. I hit the jackpot the other day when I found a couple SS86 Ironhides, and one each of SS86 Sludge and Legacy G2 Megatron at assorted stores. Never seen Cosmos, don't expect to. I've seen wave 2 voyagers and the occasional Blitzwing, nothing from Deluxe wave 2 or beyond. And by the time anything new shows up I've given up and bought it online. Anyone know what the deal is? Any predictions? I assumed with Walmart it was the redeco beasts and then velocitron taking up space. For target though I dunno. Too many Buzzworthy Terrorsaurs and raw chicken Dinobots?
Also briefly speaking of Beast Wars, the reissues are extremely hard to find for some reason. I only saw Cybershark once other than the time I got him, and haven't seen Wolfang or Retrax at all.

Only Walmart exclusive in some countries. One has to check which of their local retailers tends to get the toys that are Walmart exclusive in the US. Also, he is not short packed everywhere, as is evident in the UK where he comes in solid cases.
I do not know what the situation with that toy is in New Zealand.

I agree the arms are limited, but I honestly still really enjoy him, and they are still mostly functional, he will throw the shapes I like.

Boy, a whole decade later and Hasbro is still trying to promote the character that most of the fandom simply does not care about at all.
I'm reminded of when his original toy was first unveiled back at BotCon 2012 and the Hasbro folks were really excited about it, but nearly the entire audience in the room simply reacted with "Who?"
I think about less than 10% of the people in that room even knew who he was from having read the Exiles novel beforehand. And I was among that small amount who recognized his name from the book.
Funnily enough, all of the original toy's redecos have received more love and attention by the fandom than said original toy ever did.

Hoping Sandstorm looks good in all modes, though I fear bot mode will suffer. Also kinda hope he's on the taller side, but that's just because I think having a Sandstorm that's about Siege Ultra Magnus height would be cool.
Cybertron Starcream will be interesting to see, especially since they originally didn't release his voyager toy in the US
Posted by Bumblevivisector on December 2nd, 2022 @ 1:02am CST
Tigerhawk will almost certainly have proper purple this time, but I really hope he retains or somehow homages the original toy's "hidden" feature of the Vok generator that you can only see when he's opened up mid transformation. Maybe it's just that The Trigger was the episode that got me fully onboard with Beast Wars just after TransCon '97 put an end to my year and a half of knee-jerk reaction against organic alt modes, but it was just so damn cool to see that the first time I handled ol' Thunderbutt.

I'm still waiting on a cleaned up version of WFC Springer, preferably in the SS86 line, as well as G1 Sureshot.
Posted by SpaceEagle on December 2nd, 2022 @ 1:55am CST
Also I am VERY eager to see Sandstorm. I hated the T30 and especially hated how it looked, so having a figure that'd look more like a proper G1 Sandstorm would be nice. It's probably going to be 'toon accurate but I hope sculpting makes up for the missing sticker detail the animation model forgot.
Posted by Emerje on December 2nd, 2022 @ 2:00am CST
I'm glad Tigerhawk is going to be a Leader, it was necessary to do him right. But I'm very excited over the prospects of Silverbolt being a Voyager! That might be the most exciting thing about this list, lots of potential.
Not all that crazy about Animated Prime being a Voyager, I was hoping they'd go full concept trailer or at least the flight pack, but I guess this is their Voyager good guy leader slot filled.
Really looking forward to Leader Sandstorm as I didn't like the looks of the previous Generations version. But after Blitzwing I try not to get too excited about more Triplechangers from the current design team.
I'm surprised they're doing Cybertron Starscream "already" when we have yet to have seen our first Armada Starscream repaint. Can we possibly get Thundercracker, Skywarp and Ramjet in 2023? Would they still do them in 2024?
Thundertron is a big surprise, but also one of the figures with the most repaint potential. I love the original mold and bought all 3 additional redecos. I don't know if they'd bother doing Leo Prime, but I could see Go Prime and Alpha Trizer happening. Myabe AT can be in a 2 pack with Flareup to homage the BotCon set (minus Apelinq).
Looks like Laser Prime is getting rereleased, though it says EVO so is it really a 2024 rerelease?
G2 Grimlock was inevitable. I'm guessing a Walmart release, we don't get as many leader exclusives from Target, they tend to prefer box sets at the higher price point. Plus it'll most certainly be blue. Target can have a red Slug or something.

I'm not so sure. The design team will certainly go with purple, but we've seen a few examples where upper management shot them down in favor of toy colors. Plus they'll most likely do Razorclaw who is basically Tigerhawk's cartoon colors with the white replaced with black so they might choose to go with blue to further separate the two.

I ham, however, interested in how Legacy will re-interpret the character. Will it be just a pretool with an out of place head like Legacy Bulkhead, or will it be a so absurd-but-awesome new mold like Jhiaxus?
I also fear those Animated characters will be bastardised with the "G1 Beam" like the Prime characters are.
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal on December 2nd, 2022 @ 6:15am CST
The things that excite me the most are Tigerhawk and Silverbolt. 2 of my favorite beasts, with Tigerhawk my favorite beast, finally getting another crack. I am thankful.
Until I see my first Legacy Animated figure prove me wrong, i am going to assume Prime will be butchered like the Prime characters already have been.
Thundertron is an interesting one, not one i would have expected. We'll see what happens with him

Interesting Lineup.
LDR Prime is almost certainly the Armada Prime the teased in the Legacy poster.
Not sure how you bring Animated Prime into Legacy and not just make him another G1 Prime though. Probably a more stylized head sculpt. Otherwise Animated is just G1 Prime in the more stylized Animation style.
Tigerhawk and Silverbolt definitely interest me. Very similar alt modes though ones a wolf and the other a tiger.
Cyber Starscream is. intriguing. Cybertron StarScream? Would totally be in for an update of that design. Only version I own of Cybertron SS is Universe Dirge. I'd kill for a Thundercracker or Skywarp repaint of that design.
Sandstorm poses a question. Would he be a retool of Springer, or a new mold?
