Are you a fan of comical Chibi/Super-Deformed Transformers? If so today is your day, as
Taghobby has reported from Cafereo Character Convention 2015 on Kotobukiya's newest D-Style Transformers: Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker. Starscream may or may not be searching for
Megatron's contacts. And the (hilariously frantic) remaining seekers Skywarp and Thundercracker will be in their own two-pack. The figures will be fully posable but not transformable, but it doesn't look like it will effect the "fun" value! Look below for the pics and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers News!

I'm not sure where/when D-Style Starscream will show up, but he's definitely not packed in with Megatron. D-Style Megatron just got released in Japan and costs the same as the previously released Optimus (so, single figure budget).
This is quite a reveal, however, and I look forward to hearing more news about these upcoming figures. Cheebs!!!

These kits are really nice. I have Optimus and he looks surprisingly good without paint. Some parts are actually pre-painted and there is a sticker sheet for faction symbols. They used a lot of small pieces to make larger parts, I think Prime's head is made of something like 10 parts alone. Articulation is great as well, his hips even slide down so he can sit. I did go over him with a ultra fine tip pen (Sakura Micron 005 .20mm) and it made an even bigger difference in his look. I'd really like to see them do so me non SD models later on.
I'm working on a review of him, it might be up soon.

I'm liking that they went with Thundercracker's animated colors over his toy colors.

The "yelling" faces all make them look like toddlers fighting over the only shovel in the sand box.
But all the faces are fun and hilarious. If I didn't already have a bunch of MyClones from back in the day, I'd be all over these.

Preordered! Something about these cute little guys just melts my blackened heart. And of course, I'm cool with chibi.

I put together Megatron and still need to find time to put together Prime. I also need to pick something up that I can darken those open mouths with, so they look better than they do right now without any black.
The Seekers are fantastic, and I preordered them as well this morning at HLJ.

So.... do these actually transform? I'm not seeing any robot bits or thickness under that airplane mode. Also don't see any creases where wings should pivot.

So are these snap together model kits like some of the other Kotobukiya kits? I'm assuming pre painted?
I have a few of the Megaman kits and they are pretty cool.

So adorably evil! Remembering the pilot episode 30 years ago......
Unfortunately Megs is already sold out

Yes these are snap together plastic and no they are not pre painted. They'll require some paint to look exactly like the stock images. Most of these kits seem to use 3 or 4 different colors of plastic.

I haven't received Megatron yet (any day now), but Optimus had the yellow on his belt pre-painted. I assumed all of them have at least one detail painted. But really these guys (or at least Optimus) look pretty good without paint. They use a lot of small colored parts instead of needing painted details. Just use an ultra fine tip pen to do the panel lines and you're golden.
My only wish is that Starscream had a darker face.

Kind of like Bandai's Mastergrade series. Looks good already but with paint applications, more the better.

I was thinking about getting these, then ultimately decided that they were too expensive for something I have to assemble myself...

If they are anything like the Megaman one's; assembling is the easy part. The parts have to be taken off the sprues, then the remaining bit cleaned up.
I enjoyed putting them together, but not the prep-work.
I do like the look of these. I would like to see them in their unfinished state though.

As someone who occasionally does Gundam model kits, assembling is part of the fun.
Most of these do look good out of box, but the mini alt modes seem to be missing a lot of color.

Yeah, when it's the Kabaya kits and assembling a tiny fort max.... So so so so fun.

This one is just to cute.
Totally G1 Megatron & Starscream relationship.
