That core Soundwave looks really good. I was gonna pass on the entire class except Rattrap, but I might pick him up just for the tape deck mode.

Since people are comparing this Wasp to T30, am I the only one that thinks Kingdom Waspinator looks a little bit better? The deco looks on point (besides the purple wings, but they're fine), and the wasp mode looks to be a general improvement. I think his wasp antennae might even be ball jointed, which I really hope is true, because it would give his wasp mode a lot of expressiveness. Can't wait to see him properly transformed with his accessories.

As soon that I have Roddy, I'll post pictures and weight comparisons between him, Jetfire, and Skylinx.
We will just have to wait around another month or so for that.

T30 Waspinator has always looked like a fly to me.
The hover fly, often confused with bees, wasps & hornets.
Green fly
Wasps are longer & thinner. And the eyes are different & the antenna are a lot longer.

Not sure why the pic is sideways, some things have been funky since I got the S21 5g from Samsung.Eidt: My phone shows some pics sideways, but on the web, everything looks fine. I think it is one of the front sensors, and not every app understanding. As long as things look good on the web here, I won't worry.

*if* he shows up in stores. With the U.S. You never know. Walmart messed themselves over in 2019 with Jetfire. Hopefully SkyLynx did well enough at Target Retail for them to try it again this year, All we can do is wait and see.

Well not a Decepticon, but an Evil Autobot (SG Jetfire) seems likely if the rumors are true and will likely be revealed in July sometime on Pulse.

If they keep the faction symbol flip thing then he can definitely be a Decepticon

Kingdom Deluxe Class Waspinator was barely leaked that Tonton already made a video review of him!
The toy is shown in all angles and great details. Plus, Tonton made an extensive comparaison with the old T-30 version.
See the review down below!
Are you excited for his release? Will this Waspinator replace your old Generations or Beast Wars original, or will he be part of the swarm? Let us know what you think!

I'll still get the new one, I like them both, but it's not better than the T30.
Standing side by side, the Kingdom almost looks like a Cyberverse version. Only not as crappy as Cyberverse. But nowhere near as good as the T30. It really reminds me of comparing the MP Blackarachnia to the Kingdom version.

Get used to it. These things are made of plastic, and in the end plastic is an evil substance made from oil. With less oil supply, the price goes up. With higher prices, in order to keep prices relatively close to normal the amount of plastic used has to be reduced. Transformers will continue to get smaller if they want to continue their level of quality in the plastic unless they find a legitimate, sturdy, affordable substitute soon.
Also consider that the inflation related to Covid is costing everyone. it costs more not just because of the oil and the plastic, but because the supply is so low. Everyone was shut down. General suplies of EVERYTHING are low. Why is the PS5 so rare? Shutdown of processor plants. That slowdown is going to continue for 3-6 years in nearly everything, resulting in 15-40% inflation annually by the end of the year; it's going to take a miracle to avoid a global economic disaster at this point.

I dunno man, Siege Ratchet & Ironhide & Earthrise Hoist & Trailbreaker were pretty big for deluxe class. And since the T30 & Kingdom Waspinator's transformation is almost identical, I don't really see why Kingdom had to be shorter. They made the Kingdom's legs hollow so how much more plastic do they really need to cut back? Also, the Kingdom's gun is just 1 hollow chunk. They're both basically the same figure, only differently sculpted.

Wonder how he scales with cheetor, bumblebee and rattrap
I dont like insect legs in robot mode or how plain the gun is but otherwise he's kewl

While I’m not going to disagree with what you’re implying, I’m just going to point out that since these figures can take up to 2 years to design and produce, this explains the recent price hike more than anything, waspinator is this small because they are trying to adhere to the scale of the figures in the show, I’m not sure why anyone is surprised by the size of any of these figures anymore, this has been going on since the wfc trilogy began

The insect legs look pretty bad and theyve taken the realistic look away from them for a form that has had a bit more realistic influence. Not really liking the alt mode of T30 or kingdoms 9prefer animateds or original). Only positive is yay for keeping the light piping amd at least he has his hidden weapon unlike Cheetor (not counting his tail)
Hasbro might be able to polish a repaint out of it that tempts me but unlikely.

I haven't watched the show in ages. So scale wasn't even on my mind.

Hope is just undiscovered disappointment. Also, the MP line is operating on a different scale so no toy from Kingdom could be a placeholder.
First-Aid wrote:Get used to it. These things are made of plastic, and in the end plastic is an evil substance made from oil.
The priciest part in the toy making process are the molds and assembly, not the plastic. That's why you can buy a leader sized Cyberverse toy for half the price of a leader sized Kingdom toy. Same amount of plastic but half the parts (meaning half the human labour and half the mold casting), invalidating any argument that plastic is the main reason for making smaller toys.
Waspinator is smaller here for a simple reason, they are adhering to the sizes on the show and that's it.
Anyways, in regards to these two toys, when looking at them side by side to me it was...

Missed opportunity not making this figure a Weaponizer. Though the Studio Series 1986 Kup route where he's designed to be broken up into pieces would work too.

I was looking at my other figures from Kingdom. At the leg where it meets the hip, it's like you purposely can slide it off. I didn't notice that on other figures before.

Man, it'd have been so cool if they had incorporated that Kup-like feature! TonTon is... not particularly thorough, so maybe there's still a chance that it's there and he didn't see it. But, given how limiting parts count is, I doubt it.
Edit: Nah, watched it again and there's no chance he's got that feature.

The only thing Kingdom Waspy is missing is that wonderful geared wingflapping, but sadly geared or springloaded gimmickry is a thing of the past...
This figure looks nice enough for me to consider getting it as well... hopefully there's a Buzzsaw in the works so I can justify it to myself.

Then why have figures been getting steadily less and less plastic for many years now, dispite HasTak only caring about scale for the last few lines? Figures aren't more complex now than they used to be. The molds and assembly are the biggest costs, yes, but the plastic each toy uses is still a significant cost that increases over time and that HasTak is going to try to reduce as much as possible. That's why figures have hollow parts, and it's why the use of hollow parts has been steadily rising. The cost of plastic, and by extension the size of the figure, still meaningfully impacts production costs, and saying it doesn't is frankly ridiculous. No offense.
As for the scale argument, that would make sense if Kingdom Waspinator were in scale with the other BW figures, but he's not. Unless my understanding of BW scale is wildly off, he should be about the same size as Cheetor and Blackarachnia, but (using Mirage as a measuring stick), he's notably shorter, just like Skorponok, invalidating any argument that scale is the main reason for making Waspinator smaller. Nevermind, scale is hard
