And the (unofficial) reveals keep coming! Thanks to Nemesis Primal and scotty_P here at Seibertron, we have pictures of the upcoming Generations Selects Greasepit! Numbered as WFC GS-12, Greasepit is a recolor and repaint of Siege Ironworks. Greasepit takes his name from the original Micromaster Greasepit from G1, though this toy is a combination of the character and the Micromaster base he came with.
Ready to add another Decepticon to your collection? Like Exhaust in the previous news story, we don't know exactly when these figures will be officially revealed or released, but with these packaged samples from an Ebay auction showing up, we're likely to know soon.

Eh. Maybe not.
The yellow missile at the front looks like the red one with Sideswipe but the pistol handle looks different.
Really? It just looks like a repaint of Ironworks' gun to me.
I stand corrected. Actually, I'm sitting but you know what I mean.

It's the mercenary symbol, first time we've seen it used in the toys.

Yeah, intellectually, I knew that he would be a straight up repaint of Ironworks, but I just thought, maybe through use of accessories they'd put a little more effort into making it look like an actual Gas Station, rather than just the Construction Station with gas pumps instead of a hook. Oh well... It's not terrible, Besides I was going to pretty much get it no matter what.
So....If they do Hothouse next, who thinks it would be an additional repaint of Ironworks, or instead a repaint of Airwave?

Airwave repaint, 100%, because Selects so far has only done 1 figure per mold (although if that Centurion droid Brunt repaint is real, that rule no longer matters), and Airwave conspicuously features tank treads on his legs that are unnecessary for a design based off the Airport base, but would be necessary for the Fire Station, which seems to hint that Hot House was kept in mind when that mold was designed.

Myself, I'm more interested in Exhaust than I was in the Wheeljack use of the mold.

I find it funny that the first figure to use the merc logo isn't one of the names thrown out there or revealed by the card game already Just remains to be seen who the other mercs going to be. Can't have a faction of just one.

Technically that would be the faction-switching Doubledealer as well as the Quintessons and their minions.

Real world mercs would wear their mercs companies symbols, fictational mercs would wear their companies symbols. Its the equivalent of a la street gang wearing a generic Tshirt that says gang rather than their gangs colors. Poor exhaust here is displaying generic badge but I guess it could be the same as holding up a for rent sign, maybe the next generic merc symbol wearing car can be called Rental.

The MP seems to have purple to me. Maybe it looks different in real life?
Without it the toy looks really plain. Although I have to admit, I want it more for the history behind it more than the toy itself.
As for the symbol, there've been a couple of toys with one-off faction symbols. Although an actual non-Dcepticon mercenary faction would be pretty cool if they were consistent with it.

No, the Quintesson face faction symbol you're talking about is Quint-specific, it's only been used on Slitherfang and the Quint Judge's packaging, so far (unless it's on the figures somewhere and we haven't seen). The Merc symbol has only been used in the toyline on Exhaust here, but is the same symbol used for the Mercs in the card game. Warden said during the TF presentation back at Toy Fair that Doubledealer and Snapdragon are also Mercs, but they don't seem to have the badge on them anywhere from what we've seen so far.
Also the Bug Bite listing called him a Mercenary, so he might have the symbol as well.

I just want a nice reveal that wasn't already teased or leaked, as otherwise these reveal events aren't so much a 'reveal' as just Hasbro going "Okay, yeah, we're really doing those things. Which you already knew about anyway. So uh, here's a preorder for it...I guess?"

Technically, 'Bee is still just a rumor, but I see your point.

I couldn't find a number for Centurion, but I'm guessing he is somewhere in the middle, giving us 4 others to fill in the numbers in between.

Considering Ceturion is a Pulse exclusive and not a regular Selects release, he may not have a number, and if you leave him out, our list fits all the leaks and goes as follows (with ? indicating that the numbers may not be exact):
WFC-S11: Exhaust
WFC-S12: Greasepit
WFC-S13: Hubcap(?)
WFC-S14: Hot House(?)
WFC-S15: Roritchi(?)
WFC-S16: G2 Megatron(?)
WFC-S17: Bug Bite(?)
WFC-S18: Tigertrack
WFC-S19: Rotorstorm
Although I think there was also a rumor of a Selects Ratchet but no listing yet, so no idea how to factor that in.

Tigertrack is nice but I don’t need him.

Hasbro's been doing that occasionally. They beat 3P to Cog and Brunt, after all.Mindmaster wrote:Kinda lame that Rotorstorm doesn’t get a new head, but oh well, doesn’t bother me too much. I'm really disappointed Rotorstorm does not have a new head. He really needs his IDW head, it's such a letdown that it's not remotely right for his head.

I'm holding out hope right now that with how many times the head was mentioned both in the presentation and the product listing for the figure, there is a new head that just isn't ready yet, because the figure doesn't release until...November. It wouldn't be the first time Hasbro stock photos were wrong...
Also turns out the Centurion Droid just isn't a Selects figure at all, so he definitely does not have a number. We all assumed he was because he comes in a Selects-like box, but Hasbro hasn't referred to him as a Selects figure anywhere. If anything, he matches the line branding of the Netflix repaints, in that they're just "WFC Trilogy" figures.

I thought they were actual product shots? Granted, that's not to say it's impossible that we'll get the right head because wasn't Hun-Grr's head not finished or something when they showed off prototypes for Power of the Primes?

Hun-Gurrr's head was edited out on his packaging, likely because the wrong, possible alternate, head was shown.
I'm trying to remember when was the last time that stock photos showed one head, while the final toy had another, but I'm coming up blank.

If pack-in instructions count, I can think of a couple examples; Generations Warpath and Reveal the Shield Lugnut.
Also, if people want the weapon pack but not the Centurion drone, I’m considering wanting to army build them....

Yes, but if it's a case like we've occasionally had in the past of the physical sample having the wrong head (whether at SDCC or even on the packaging shots), there's a chance the final head will be different, especially because the description of the figure specifically pointed out a new head.
