I can't believe I did this but I went on ahead and ordered Deep Cover through Gamestop and paid for shipping in the hopes they actually ship him this Friday. I was able to use the Honey browser extension to purchase a gift card and then pay with the gift card which saved a couple of bucks so the shipping cost wasn't too much.

That black and blue look really freaking sweet together, looking forward to this guy...

I'm a big fan of the colour scheme as well, i think it looks fantastic in the Siege Sideswipe molud

Kinda wanna get Selects Bugbite, he looks cool. But the question is, if I do, should I give him the tacky purple tribal tattoos or do him up as a little police car?

I think the tribal tattoo look is pretty cool and I wish Selects Bug Bite already came with them.

Gamestop really thinks Deep Cover is shipping Friday...

I wouldn’t worry too much.
They came through w/ my Kingdom Cyclonus, no issues except was 1 day later than expected. But they emailed me about that change.

Not worried at all, just curious since they are a relative newcomer as far as a source for TF's. I refuse to pay for shipping if I don't have to and don't mind waiting, so I'm not ordering from them anyway. I'm getting mine from Pulse since I have premium there and free shipping.

Sandstorm is a great figure, and outside of Redwing and maybe Hotlink, he is my favorite seeker from the WFC trilogy.

Deep Cover looks sweet, glad I scooped one up on preorder.

I got my Super Megatron at last, and he really is super. They went balls out with the retooling and paint, and they did an excellent job with him. Fantastic! Mine will always use the TLK face, that is an awesome thing

Super Megatron is great, good to see someone else getting him! Also a huge improvement over TR Galvatron. Alt modes are perhaps a bit abstract but I like them, they've got a similar toyetic charm to RID Megatron/Gigatron.

As much as the jet mode is supposed to be the primary alt mode, I actually really like the tank mode, that one is my favorite.

His giant ass cannon is also great. I can't really find fault with him at all

Me too! The triple-barrelled tank mode is great.
My one gripe is I wish he had wrist swivels, but that's about it.

Wrist swivels and maybe a peg on his forearm instead of elbow for his cannon, but otherwise, he's fantastic. I love that he has the 2 face, 2 forehead, and 2 chest options. A lot of fun to be had there

I just want to chime in and say Super Megatron is Super Awesome! I have no attachment to the manga he comes from so I almost didn't get him. Very happy I did! He was in jet mode for a while on a flight stand, and now he just stands around looking menacing

...I just noticed that Deep Cover's product description specifically calls him out as an update based on his eHobby release, not as an update to the Diaclone release that his color scheme came from. If eHobby character updates are not only on the table but are being advertised as such (as opposed to the brief earlier argument that Deep Cover was only/specifically getting made because he's a Diaclone deco), I am once again wondering why no Detritus, Hauler, and/or Tetrajet Sunstorm yet. They've got the perfect molds for it and enough people here have asked for them that the interest/demand for those repaints definitely exists, it seems like a no-brainer.

I'm sure Sunstorm will come eventually. Hopefully with the ER mold, but I'd take the tetrajet one if that's all that's offered.

I can only imagine that they think they can sell Deep Cover more easily. Hopefully they decide to do him and Hauler both.

I know I said it before when I got mine in, but Super Megs is fan-feckintastic. With u guys talking bouts him, I have mine back transforming and playing around. He is my head canon Megatron after Galvatron went in the ice in Headmasters as well. Just very soon after unlike the manga. Starscream and Soundblaster dug him out after Skorponok pissed them off and rebuild him with crazy space tech. Super Megatron takes the TR Galvatron mold and makes it incredible when it was just good(despite the head), improving everything.

Also yes G2 unreleased Sandstorm seeker is awesome. The only conehead earthrise figure I have, so far, and love it. Ever since I seen this deco many years ago, I always wanted a figure of it cause its great looking.

A little late for me to bring this up, but I've been getting emails from TFSource saying Deep Cover would be in stock this week and he now is. Other sites seem to have him as well so this appears to be the original release window. It isn't too unusual for Pulse to be the last to get Selects figures in. But it's also not unusual to Pulse themselves to get stuff in earlier than their listed dates.

Hmmm, with Pulse's release date being April 1, I wonder if they were making a joke, especially after the last year of musical release dates.

Still waiting on my sandstorm though I don't think it will get cancelled like they did for other stuff. Will be nice to not have any preorders tied up though.

Would be perfect timing for ehobby overcharge with the quints. They could be waiting on the ss86 coronation Starscream before doing another fifty repaints/sunstorm.

For those of you who have the Galaxy Odyssey P/CP and Barricade set, does the head on your P/CP not sit right? Mine cannot look forward as it frictions into place slightly off-center either to the left or right. Is the head easily removable?

Mine has the same problem, he's always gotta look slightly to the side. That and the hip swivel on him is insanely tight! I gave up on trying to get it to move because I'm afraid of snapping the ball joint off.
On the plus side I've seen reviewers and Instagram photographers that struggle with getting the front of car mode to align properly and im able to align mine pretty easily with the proper wiggles

Didn't even notice until you pointed it out, but yeah. Checked the potp release, has the same problem, but not as bad. The "natural" resting spot is slightly to the left, but the main difference is that GO friction twitches into that pose if you try to look forward, where potp can hold the forward look until it's nudged, at which point it shifts over.

I didnt do anything to the arm joint, I believe with this release of the figure they got the arms right this time and there was no need, unlike with potp release

That's not what I was told, the arm joint was the same as on the POTP release, problem is I never noticed an issue but did the fix anyway.

I'll have to check my P/CP when I get home but I didn't notice any problems with mine. Flipped him between both Bot modes and converted him into his car mode without any problems. I thought I had taken a pic of him and earth-mode Barricade but I only have them in alt-mode.

Gamestop blew the Deep Cover release and now he is scheduled for March 1st. Thinking about canceling and switching to Pulse, might get Snaptrap to cross the free shipping threshold. I have three of King Poseidon's limbs and was hoping one of the two I don't have would come back into stock but it has just been the three I have plus Snaptrap. Decisions, decisions...

So I saw how to do the shoulder fix, but what does it actually "fix"? Anything?
Re: Transformers Generations Selects Deep Cover Review Round-up (2095851)
Posted by alekese on February 18th, 2021 @ 10:06am CST
The inner shoulder joint that connects the torso and the upper arm is asymmetric; the side that's supposed to be on top has a corner sticking out of it, while the bottom is rounded. If it's in the right spot, the corner friction clicks properly into the top part of the socket during transformation, but wiggles below 90 degrees when in robot mode. When this piece is installed upside down, the corner clicks into the bottom of the joint, stabilizing the shoulder at 90 degrees, at the cost of preventing the transformation from sitting flush, because the corner presses against the bicep, bulging it out. The first release had the corner down, and despite reports to the contrary the second release has the same issue.

Posted by TF-fan kev777 on February 18th, 2021 @ 11:21am CST
Either my eyes suck, or both my copies, which are incorrect, aren't really a problem. I don't notice any gaps or bulges when putting him in car mode for either PotP or the GO version, but I could not exactly be looking in the right areas for that. In any case, seems like a simple enough fix, I may do it on one of them just to see if I can notice any changes.
Re: Transformers Generations Selects Deep Cover Review Round-up (2095855)
Posted by AcademyofDrX on February 18th, 2021 @ 11:32am CST
I switched mine around, but I didn't see any noticeable change in the transformation, and I didn't like the effect on his shoulders, so I changed it back. I think it's entirely unnecessary, and it probably wouldn't have caught on if the first person to propose it hadn't insisted it was a correction and the intended design.

A lot of people were when the figure was first released during POTP. Personally, I never had an issue but did the fix because I heard from quite a few people about stress marks appearing on the mold and possibly some breaks. Better safe than sorry.

I'm almost positive I did more stress damage to the plastic pulling his chest apart than anything done through normal play, but it's no skin off my nose if other people want to customize the figure that way.

It is tricky to do. I use a spudger to minimize the chances of damage to myself or the figure.

Anyone who feels as though they missed out on the Seacons/King Poseidon toys may still have a chance.

Lobclaw and Kraken are currently in-stock on Pulse
Gulf and Turtler are available for pre-order,

Leaving only Tentakil and Overbite having to be obtained for the Aftermarket price, or perhaps wait for a possible Pulse restock. It may not be ideal, but it is certainly far better than paying for all 6 at Aftermarket Price.

Yeah they're the only team I'm still missing, I've been waiting for Pulse to restock them, or by miracle seeing them on eBay for a reasonable price. Hopefully if Pulse has all 6 of them in, I can pick them all up at once.

Just got an email from Pulse Selects Transmutate has just been revealed (indeed a slight retool of Paleotrex). Available for pre-order now. Sorry no pics because of my work computer, but go to Pulse and check it out. Expected release 8-01-21

*advert says it's a nod to the 2006 BAF, despite looking nothing like it ;)

Of course I am going to pre-order this, but looking at the head sculpt, I don't know how they could make it more disturbing...but they did.... *shudders*

Good lord, Hasbro needs to get their shit together and stop messing with Target and their inability to do anything right. Double the price because Target sucks and can't fulfill their orders.

Thanks to fellow Seibertron users, Nuclearxpotato, Shiningstar7896, Kaden and Sabrblade, we've learned that Hasbro Pulse (and many third party dealers) have revealed the next line up in the Transformers Generations Selects line (and the first to be redeco'ed/retooled from a Transformers Kingdom toy)! The toy is none other then Transmutate!

This is a redeco of Transformers Kingdom Deluxe Class Fossilizer Paleotrex, whose already freaky head has been turned into what fans would lovingly describe as a nightmare's warm embrace.

Check the link out here for Hasbro Pulse's listing and here for Big Bad Toy Store's listing.

What do you think of this toy? The perfect addition to your beast wars collection or a redeco too far?

Give a shout out in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

If anyone was hoping they would sleep tonight, well tough. Hasbro just revealed their Transformers Generations Selects Transmutate and it is pure nightmare fuel, just as it should be. It is indeed a slight retool of Paleotrex and Hasbro says the use of this partsforming mold is to homage the build a figure Transmutate from 15 year ago. You can order it right now on Entertainment Earth where they are claiming it to be an exclusive.

A nod to the 2006 build-a-figure, the next #TransformersTuesday reveal is a re-assembled classic, Deluxe Transmutate!
