Seibertronian Cyberpath has done it again, providing us with scans courtesy of Cheem of the Transformers Generations booklet where the new Masterpiece Megatron has been shown off. Among the scanned images are a look at the process of designing a good masterpiece, with the "ideal" robot mode designed first, followed by something that looks as close to it as possible, but is still capable of Transformation. The process also shows the designing of the chest along with the alternate parts and accessories, and even a look at how they were attempting to perfect his chin curve!

Following this is a sneak peak at Megatron's Transformation, which appears quite intricate. Among the observations are that it appears the trigger guard is absorbed into the shins, and the chest plate is stored away on top of the gun mode.

You check out the images below, and join the conversation in the Energon pub below!

Well that transformation looks utterly terrifying. Gives ROTF Prime a run for his money.

You don't see where step one is some crude shapes and step 2 is a finished head with the rest just adding excessive details on a "how to draw Optimus Prime" guide?

To be fair, Transformers 'how to draw' guides are guilty of this generally.

That's not quite the same thing, nobody would mistake step 2 for a finished drawing.

Rotf prime really isn't all that difficult.

The transformations that are the biggest pain are the ones that don't hold together. MP-05 is fairly easy to get used to, but it's the fact that nothing wants to stay together that is most annoying.

I'm perfectly happy with a complicated transformation, just as long as everything lines up and is solid in both modes.

Judging by recent masterpiece releases, this one should be fantastic. But we'll see.

I feel like a lot of people attempt a transformation once, and if they consider it too difficult, they never make an attempt to actually learn it. I think ROTF prime suffers from that. I think it's a really neat and interesting transformation. But most people just seem to say it's too difficult, transform it once, and never try it again.

It's just a fun joke about how pat lee and drramwave on how to draw transformers. It was more showing off than anything. With pat lee it was "draw a circle, now draw Optimus Prime, now give him leprosy" it's just a running joke of "this is how to draw without actually showing you"

I totally agree! Complicated transformations are my bag, baby--especially when "ladder magic" is involved. But floppy messes are not fun to deal with. Never owned MP-0, so I cannot testify to how loose it is. However all MPs that I own are solid. I am rigid in joyful anticipation for MP Megs 2.0!

What is the level of customer service one can expect if one were to run into issues with the order? My first experience dealing with a Japanese store is placing the PO for MP-36 with A-E. Thus far that experience (including a few email exchanges) have been very positive.

I'm interested because I recently placed an order for something else with Nippon Yasan. The payment process failed, but my credit card company said it's not because of them, but rather the merchant. I've opened up a ticket with N -Y and tried the online chat function, but I haven't gotten any response yet. Experiences like this make me wary of dealing with Japan and push me toward paying a premium with domestic importers.....

You just got burned with a bad vendor. Try amiami. Pay with Paypal and wait for the delivery. Worked for me since 2011. Though concerning Megatron, given how iffy the situation is concerning firearm analogues, that I can assure you, amiami WON'T mod the gun with the orange cap.

Other figs/stuff on the otherhand, all works smoothly.

Fyi: Amiami replaced my MP BWConvoy's paint chip face. At no cost at all. That's customer service!

I'll limit my comments so we don't get too far off topic, but yea, I'm very wary of N-Y now. I'll give them another day to respond, but I'm not hopeful. Without getting too much into the specifics (since the transaction doesn't involve a TF), I'll have to go with a domestic company as the other Japanese retailers are oos. I'm actually a little surprised N-Y thus far has been so unresponsive. I've emailed Amiami, Anime Export, and HLJ (regarding the orange plug), and they all responded promptly. I'm glad I went with A-E for MP Megs, and not N-Y. Probably staying away from them going forward.

AE has been my very favourite online merchant. I feel as confident in dealing with them as with anyone else. They dont feel like an ocean away and their customer service always feels personal. Like its just one guy making sure everything is fine with your personal order. I went with N-Y for MP Cheetor because , like in your case, that was the only place that still had him. I paid with paypal right away, like i did with AE and everything went smoothly. But there has been no interaction with them, since there isnt need for it so far. But if I had the choice, I would always go with AE. As for defective items and returning them, I have never needed to do that so far. I have had problems with figures, but it was usually an assembly error and every copy out there has that error so there is no "fixed" version to give me in exchange (I am referring to LG Blackarachnia but there was also the case for MP Ramjet).

It's the definitive Megatron! Hopefully the quality and craftsmanship are as high as the price they are asking....but it's going to be impressive regardless.

I love my MP Soundwave, and feel like it didn't necessarily warrant the $160 price-tag, but he just looks so good! I'm just afraid to insert and eject his tapes when they get stuck in there....

I've always been on the edge when it comes to the Masterpiece line. I absolutely love the designs of most of them, but I always find it hard getting past that price tag. I was very close with Shockwave, but I never wound up snagging him. But once they showed us even more images of Megatron, I quickly decided to set money aside for him. He just looks too dang cool.
