disgruntled! lol
but thanks Va-al
Glad they've stuck with the cheaper price....for Magnus, I was beginning to think that the price on the thing I posted.....was a one-off
anyway.....no point in making my way there til Magnus reaches TRU here in Scotland! but as soon as he does.....I'm sure I'll be there
One weird point of note though
Even though some TRU's have got Magnus in! he's still not showing up on their website yet

Don't forget in the UK they have the taxes (it's called VAT, right?) built into the prices so it's not entirely Hasbro's fault.

And yeah, Transformers is dying, just like it has been since Armada. Truth is the franchise is stronger than ever. Just look at New York Comic Con. Last year they held a press party and the only new Generations reveals were Leader Thundercracker and Legends Huffer. The only panels they held were for RID and an IDW comic panel. This year they had a big multimedia presentation and revealed an entire new line of figures. And that's on top of big displays at SDCC, BotCon, and New York Toy Fair. If anything the franchise as a whole is getting too big and us fans are struggling to keep up, especially when you factor in the stuff Takara Tomy is doing.

Even without all of those (so, in America at least) they're way too much, at least in towns that have competition, they go under the msrp (hasbros recommended price) of $18 at a bit more reasonable $15, but thats still too much for the lackluster qc and paint apps; especially considering they're all repaints

Are you F ing kidding me? £200 that TRU are asking is still waaaay to much for this figure! now granted.....like you said.....the original on Ebay may cost more....but that depends on who the seller is.......& if it's not some scalper! you'd need to shop around....then you'll probably find one a lot cheaper than what TRU are selling the Platinum Edition for.....mind you.....Ebay may have one of those cheaper on there too!

He's part of wave 4. The Megatrons were wave 1, thundercracker was 2, Magnus was 3 and Starscream is 4.

Then Skywarp must be 2016 Wave 1, and since he's the last CW Leader before the switch to Titans Return, Wave 2 must have no Leader.steals_your_goats wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then whose wave is Starscream in?steals_your_goats wrote:Cobotron wrote:Skywarp, I think. Right?

Yes, this is exactly the way I see it. Unless Blaster gets released ahead of the rest, making him a leader figure coming out in the summer (which would make sense since busszaw would be issued by then).

Ya know though, it was discussed months ago, but it seems like the leaders aren't really following the Deluxe waves. They seem to kinda surf their own waves.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then Skywarp must be 2016 Wave 1, and since he's the last CW Leader before the switch to Titans Return, Wave 2 must have no Leader.steals_your_goats wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then whose wave is Starscream in?steals_your_goats wrote:Cobotron wrote:Skywarp, I think. Yes, along with the legends class. And that makes sense since they are different price points and require different shelf space. Although there does seem to be as many waves for each class.

But yes getting Blaster out early as possible would be a smart thing to do - unless they want some time to try to get rid of all those Armada Megatrons still.

I agree 100%! Pictures and videos don't do the figure justice, you have to have it in hand.

william-james88 wrote:Is megatron better than Jetfire or Ultra magnus? If yes, please let me know why.
it honestly all depends what you are looking for. Megatron is definitely a little more hefty in mass and is very solid in vehicle mode. All his stuff comes together and locks in very securely. He also has very little kibble. Now Jetfire is lighter, but he is also very tight in transformation, but he does have a little bit of a backpack. Magnus is also lightly built, but he has pretty much no kibble. The Megatron transformation is the simplist of the 3 to me, and Magnus is the most complex. Megatron's accessories also make the most sense. Megs has wrist articulation and the arm cannon is quite posable and he has waist articulation, but he has limited knees due to the treads. The others lack all of those traits. The working treads are also a huge plus and add a level of very coolness to him. He also has an amazing headsculpt and sticker options. And he has a firing missile that is also not easily set off, like Jetfire's. And he even has a spark chamber just like the episode of Beast Wars where BW Megs takes his spark.
Overall to me his is the best because he is hefty, tight, posable and just has a cool look to him. Jetfire is a very good light jetformer and Magnus attention to detail and a very involved transformation due to the truck and trailer mode. it is a tight race, and it really depends on if you want heft, robot visible in vehicle, kibble, design, transformation and gimmicks (Cause the Minimus feature wins that for Magnus). I think Megs is the best overall. Magnus would be if he were heavier and Jetfire would be if some hollow parts and overly excessive accessories were not present. Plus Megs has the best paintjob by far

So he would be yet another Classics Megatron with wings

CW Leader Megs' wings are much less obtrusive, that's for sure.
and BTW, nice little analysis D-Max.

william-james88 wrote:The reason I hold off on megs is the kibble. While you say he was very little of it I cant help but see his giant backpack at every angle I look at him. The Armada version makes it work a bit better by making the threads giant shoulder pads in robot mode, like the original toy. The in the grey/silver version, they just end up bunched in the back. And Jetfire might have his nosecone in the back, but from the front it jus looks like his wings which is very much his usual look.
All in all, I thank you very much for your comparisons but I still wonder about Megatron's kibble.
Megatron's kibble really isn't that bothersome. from the Front the treads are not really visible, only from the side, and to me it helps make him beefier and more built in the midsection. IDW also had miner Megatron with the treads set up Armada style but not as exaggerated, so it also works. The reason I mentioned Jetfire is because the cockpit just seems so weird sitting out like that. The wings even out pretty well just the cockpit stands out. But I always have the thruster pack attached so it hides the cockpit, but still is a little ungainly for a jetformer.

Thinking back on megs toys, both Beast Wars TM 2 Megs and galaxy Force Megs have crazy kibble. Dont know if I should make a list of most outlandish alt mode kibble in robot mode. That dragon tail in the back of Megs' head is pretty insane.
