In all seriousness, probably the only thing that will make me legitimately desire Computron as much as I did Superion, Defensor, Menasor, and BRUTICUS is if we got an accompanying Abominus. I believe in even teams, and having three Autobot combiners up against two Decepticon combiners is treason in my home!

Except that hasbro basically came out and said at botcon that betatron was named so because he was a prototype for computron; all of this was said with a lot of wink, wink, nudge, nudge; they basically flat out told us that we should save our money for a computron. All of that was relative until wheeljack and ramhorn come out looking quite a bit like the technobots, which all but told me that this was happening

The heads are close enough that changing the chest armor and coloring the thing properly could do it, if it comes down to it; however I agree, we gotta get a different head

It would have to be a weapon guy, right? Since no one can connect to the Silverbolt mold, it would have to be either Shockwave or Power Glide.
Although a reuse of Cosmos some how would be interesting.

Ok, update on Dragstrip:
I have left him sitting here for about two hours, and then moved ONE of his shoulders, and then left him there for two more hours. The strange thing is the one I moved more recently is actually very tight right now, and the one I've not moved for 4 hours is looser. It's kinda odd cuz I expected the opposite, but whatever. I'm gonna try leaving him longer now, and just like before move ONE of the arms halfway through the time, and then compare tightness. Btw help me remember that the tighter shoulder currently is the left shoulder. (As I'm writing this his tighter shoulder is now almost the same looseness as the other one due to moving it around a lot.)
Edit: I need some ideas also for how to tighten Dragstrip's wrists, because they are pinned in and can't just be unscrewed out. I am not sure if I have the tools to remove pins.
Thanks for everything everyone has said, I've read all of it and will keep the various ideas in mind for later. I still think ball diameter may have something to do with it; but so long as you rock the shoulder like ds is doing an ab flex, that seems to free it up enough to be moved

Isn't Computron the combined form? All we have is the torso. Where are the extremities?

Well, pose him vertically and he turns into a wheel. So a new head sculpt would be awesome.

Did you say something about the ball in Dragstrip's shoulder joint "swelling"? Also I am now thinking about just stopping my little "experiment" and instead trying to find a way to fix it. (I have found ways to fix toys before that no-one ever thought of I can tell you.)

It's likely that there would be a legends member, considering all the other combiners have one. But I don't remember seeing anything about another figure in the rumors. I was in the middle of looking up that bot, when you posted what he looks like. So, he is a lil rolly guy? That would make a cool discus or other type of ranged melee weapon. I wonder if they would bother doing something to cover up the bottom so he would be symmetrical when on his side.Sabrblade wrote:The present rumor is that the Cosmos mold is to have a release in TR as a toy of Scrounge.

Actually this was one of my more stable improvs IIRC.

ZeroWolf wrote:Thinking about it, Computron is nice and all but I would like to see the other con combiners
Abominus and Pirranacon would need new molds and IIRC Hasbro said they aren't planning beast combiners. Monstructor and Predaking have the same problems and weren't Scramble City style originally. Liokaiser isn't beasts, but wasn't Scramble City originally either. Battle Gaia would be possible, but they already put out a G2 Bruticus. This, sadly, also means we're unlikely to see a Ruination.
Bruticus Maximus from Energon would be too much like G1 Bruticus and too "potentially confusing" with the same name. Constructicon Maximus would probably be considered redundant with Devastator available, plus it would require new molds.
If they manage to slip Squawkbox into Titans Return, I may regain a tiny bit of the hope I lost when I saw it was going to be almost entirely Headmasters.

I get the feeling that most if not all of their creative efforts at this point are probably going towards Titans Return and either what's left of RiD or the next movie. I'd love to be proven wrong, mind you.

And has a special arm (there is no other like it):
Or had before Straxus disarmed him:

Since that day, Blaster never forgave himself for his failing to save Scrounge.

It's a thought anyhow. I would rather that than Making Lightspeed out of Legends Groove and then making some other random thing like ROOK into a new Technobot - I would guess more people would prefer Takara's Deluxe Groove to be the basis of Afterburner - I expect remoulding him Chromia style might be a bit to much to hope for though - unless Takara has an equal interest in making a Computron set too and so designed Groove from the outset to be remolded into Afterburner too.
It might be a bit to much to hope for an extensive remould to make a more convincing Afterburner and Strafe and new heads all round too.
Unless Taakra is so crafty they have designed Blast Off to be remoulded to Strafe and Groove into Afterburner from the outset.. if they are that crafty - the Kudos to them.
P.s.
I suppose your Cosmos repaint/remould could be Scrounge if you wanted it to be they both are both flatten circular like shapes of a sort.

I don't know if one of the JKO's that existed of iGear's version of Cosmos or the old Legends/legion class Cosmos ever got made in an appropriate colour- that would be interesting to try to discover I suppose.
Perhaps the older Cosmos Legends/legion mould would make an even better Scrounge - if they were to show any interest in making more non-RID legion toys sometime again via somewhere like General Dollar once more.

Cool!
So, given this, we can put together a reasonable schedule for Toy Fair 2016:
The rest of TR wave 1
Fortress Maximus
Random RID stuff
Possible CW wave 7
Computron box set (screw it, this shouldn't be kept a secret anymore)
Thats not gonna happen. Firstly, there is no such thing as CW wave 5 and 6. They are seperated by years. We have 2016 wave 1 and 2. I am pretty certain that is it for combiner wars after that. As I said from the begining, if we get computron, it will not be as a standard retail release where all the limbs can be bought individually. That was pretty much confirmed when Hasbro said they would now always release the torso in the same wave as the limbs. Sice Scattershot was released without the limbs that meant Computron would either be a box set or not be released at all. So this was called a long time ago. Pretty certain the Skylynx wave is the last CW wave of 2016 with individual limbs on the shelves.

I'm not referring to that as the official name, just using it as a term, since it would be the 7th wave with combiner figures. And (correct me if I'm wrong) wasn't the first TR wave supposed to be 2016 wave 4? Because if it was, then there should be another wave in there somewhere.

The price totally makes sense though. 99 USD, and I just bought G2 Supes for 150 of my poor Canadian dollars. Its odd though that a standard set (not niche like a G2 repaint) is being sold in a set while everything from Hasbro has been sold separately so far.

Ok. And no, Hasbro has 4 waves a year, which go by season. The time they give you is the time you can see them in stores across the states. TR is said to be sure to be found by fall (it is the equivalent to the Defensor wave) which means you can expect them to be shipped from online retailers in the summer, so the first half of the year is the last 2 waves of combiner wars. It all fits together, as it did last year.

It is odd, I give you that. I have a few hypotheses as to why they did it this way:
1. Since it's all redecos again aside from Scattershot, (like the G2 ones), they probably thought kids and parents wouldnt see them as anything new and it would be best sold as a release more targetted for fans.
2. Along the lines of the first point, they wanted to get on with new toys for the mass audience to keep the shelves fresh and have a clean cut in the year. Half the year CW, the other half TR and then all of next year TR.
Which makes me think that, like G2, this will mainly be redecos. I dont know if that means it will have that deluxe groove mold or not (it would be crazy if it didnt but then again, why wouldnt that be released individually at retail). Obviously, it works for G2 decos, but not for Computron.Scattershot had the most new molding so he had a retail release.

And (correct me if I'm wrong) wasn't the first TR wave supposed to be 2016 wave 4? Because if it was, then there should be another wave in there somewhere.
I bought Rook and Streetwise on Amazon in May, picked up Blades and Streetwise at a Walmart in June, and got Hot Spot (on Amazon) and Groove (at Kmart) in July, so I don't buy the fall bit. One would think that honor goes to Optimus Maximus, who started popping up in retail in October or November. And even if TR is wave 3, then would that mean there would be another TR wave in 2016?
And Shajaki, the main Generations line is what I try to get first, while the Masterpiece line is more of a side thing, as those cost a lot more. Besides, I guaranteed get $500 dollars for by birthday in July, so he's already covered.
