Still, this would be the repaint many people said should have happened last time around, but did not.

Stop with the G1 "homages" already.

Did the US Military decide to let Ironhide play, as long as he aims at the other guy?

Dude I am so going to by you a drink if we ever meet. I also am sick and tired of G1 repaints. I grew up with it and have fond memories, but for pete's sake let the history be in the past. I'd much rather see some newer characters and molds rather than rehashing the same old characters and paint jobs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

You're on! More alcohol for me...

Mad? Not at all. That's an honest damn opinion that you share with many, my fellow fan. I cannot tell you how freakin' tired I am of fans getting upset with other fans based on personal & honest opinions. I don't give a damn the preference, how much one loves or hates an item in the franchise, how much they care to voice this or that, etc, as long as everyone's civil to the folks they share interests with and tell the dang truth.
Me? Bring on the red Movie Ironhide. And I mean the Voyager figure, not this FAB crap. Movie Prime got First Strike Prime, Bumblebee was already yellow, Ratchet got Rescue Ratchet, and Jazz got his G1 homage. What did Ironhide get? Something that looks like they inverted some colors into a photo negative, sent the pic off to the paint department, then called it a day. Being I've been waiting for a large and nicely red Ironhide of decent size that doesn't suck for, oh, a while now, I'd say a red Voyager Ironhide is just a bit past due.

It may just be one of those things that the toys do that doesn't 100% reflect the movie itself. Though it wouldn't be a stretch. Lennox seems to be the human to be paired with him. Driving him home during the credits, one of the box bios mention them hanging out at firing ranges together, and there's a least one comic story where IH helps the army hunt down Scorponok.
