Bit of a Longshot

Transformers News: Transformers: Earth Wars Update: Bit of a Longshot, with Smoskescreen and Brake-Neck

With First Aid missing, it’s lucky he didn’t go it alone. Smokescreen was ready to provide cover fire with his Sniper abilities for First Aid, and now he's forced to take center stage and get a handle of the situation.

Megatron’s lack of faith has prepared him for this potential failure, as Brake-Neck was assigned to secretly provide support for Reflector with his own Sniper abilities.

Smokescreen (Sniper)

Everything Smokescreen does is designed to mislead.

Nothing is what it seems, and every surface action has a lurking ulterior motive. Misinformation is the weapon he wields to wrong-foot and lead the enemy astray.

He even uses his affable nature to root out the deepest concerns of his fellow Autobots. And in car mode, his tailpipe emits a screen of thick black smoke to mask his maneuvers.

A true smokescreen.

Brake-Neck (Sniper)

When it come reckless, Brake-Neck is in a class of his own. Opponents and allies think his head-on, who-blinks-first combat tactics are a bluff, that no one can be that wild and impetuous, but the truth is Brake-Neck really is nuts.

He doesn't care, and that's what makes him so dangerous.

Despite this, Brake-Neck is a bag of nerves, and sudden loud noises are prone to make him take off like a bat out of hell.

So, does the sniping ability have an increase in ability points per use, or is it just straight 3?

It's a straight 3, check ghost's video it shows it off.

It's a straight 3, check ghost's video it shows it off.

That's where I got the question from. that feels odd that you can just keep repeating that at no ability increase

It took me by surprise, too. First 0 increase they've had, but considering how hard it is to use the ability...

That's odd... They've already got Offroad, strange that they'd include Brake-Neck as well. I wonder which will form a part of the inevitable Menasor?

Considering the current lack of Deadend, both Brakeneck and Offroad could be used for Menasor

That'd be an unusual combination, especially considering the colour similarities between Offroad and Brake-Neck.

Just checking up. Still no luck on any good Autobot alliances?

I ended up being replaced in the Seibertron one due to the fact that I joined in the middle of some life stuff, which led me to being inactive for quite a while. I totally understand, though. They needed the space.

Only 2* Brake Neck for me so far. I did take the plunge on the Deathsaurus bundle (large). Didn't get any of the promised bots BUT I did get a 4* Vortex, 3* Nemesis Prime, and enough Combaticon sparks to upgrade Bruticus to level 3. Just need a 4* Onslaught for a 4* Bruticus.

But we all know how much Onslaught loves me ...

I still need an Onslaught in any capacity. Plus a 3 or 4* Vortex to complete Bruticus. But I now have 3 for each combiner, so there's that...

My 4* Onslaught is nice and toasty; just 300k XP til 50. Love him. Just need Swindle & Vortex to upgrade Brute to 4*.

I got a 3* Galvatron and Breakneck from the event. My alliance has been done with the event for awhile - wish we could get more crystals...

I can't really catch any combiner luck.

But, on a plus note, 1* Cyclonus has maxed out (just got him yesterday) and both 3* Bonecrusher and 2* Brakeneck are in their 20's. Plus, 3* Starscream maxed out too, so the event went well there.

The stupid tactical crystals keep giving me energon. I did score 200 4* shards, but it's mostly been energon. Argh

It has been, it's like a plague! I want shards and I want a 3* Brakeneck. Is that too much to ask?

Plus, I'm really enjoying the ability for Brakeneck. The sniping works well with say Swindle or Breakdown. That attack causes wide spread damage and then Brakeneck and his non-increasing-due-to-use ability snipes them from afar!

My 2* came out of the chamber this morning, used him twice so far.

I'm super stoked to put Starscream and Breakdown through to 41 though. Both 3* Long Haul and Brawl are at 42 and are almost to 700, and my 4* Scavenger (who is my favorite character in this game BTW) is over 800. Starscream can already one-shot a level 1 missile launcher and Long haul can one-shot a level 2, so I really want to see what Starscream can do once upgraded.

Still wish i could get a 3* Brakeneck though. I have the 3* Dragstrip and Breakdown, so if I did get him I would have 3 of the 4 stunticons needed for Menasor.

Speaking of which, that combaticon event from a few weeks ago? I got the 4* crystal, which gave me Blastoff to go with 3* Brawl and Swindle, but then got 3* Blastoff from the next 3* crystal the next day. Salty cause now I really wish I had gotten a 4* Vortex

Lockdown. Don't use any other abilities, just keep adding lasers to the field. I've gotten up to 3 simultaneously.

Of course it's not very practical, but you don't do fun and practical in this game. :-P

I didn't get him. Seibs didn't get enough points for the crystal

I'm sour on Lockdown :/

A few weeks ago I picked up a computer and monitor from a garage sale, it's a Dell Optiplex that's probably about five years old. Figured I would use it as an experimental machine so I don't screw up my main system.

Something I've been wanting to try out for a while was an Android emulator. Decided to go with Nox. It's just under 300mb, which is to be expected as it's basically Android 4.4.2. Ran seamlessly, set up my Google account, installed Earth Wars and there it is!

Resolution is a bit iffy, but that's to be expected when you're upscaling through an analogue connection. Otherwise though, you just navigate with the mouse. Good thing to have when the battery on the tablet gets low. :-P

Just missing Bonecrusher for my Dev. Bruticus is pretty cool though. I've been running an emulator on my touch monitor. Makes game play real easy.

I need some help:

I've been using a time-trap base as my current layout but I am losing approximately 4 out of 5 attacks. Does anybody have any good designs for HQ 12/13? I could upload my current layout if it helps ...

As many of you may know, Transformers: Earth Wars has been running for around 9 months now, and since the game began back in June of 2016, players were limited to only one faction: Autobot, or Decepticon. Well, players will now no longer be limited to just one faction!

Earth Wars has published its most recent update today that allows players for the first time to play as either Autobot or Decepticon! This means that all you good little Autobots may now play a bit to your darker tyrannical side, while the nasty cons can play a bit with their heroic side. The game allows players to unlock 35 characters from the opposite faction, though you cannot group bots and cons on the same team, and you can still only be in an alliance based on your original faction.

Read up on the update below!

Transformers: Earth Wars Adds 35 New Collectible And Playable Bots

For the First Time, Players Are Free to Collect Transformers From Either Faction

Today, a brand new update comes to the real-time combat strategy mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars that allows players to unlock up to 35 new Bots. When the game launched in June 2016, players were required to join a single Transformers faction -- Autobots or Decepticons -- and assemble a powerful team to raid the opposite faction. Now, for the first time, players are not limited to choosing a side and are free to collect both Autobots and Decepticons.

With the new update, players can:
Choose to play as characters from the opposing faction from that which they first joined in PVP battles
Increase their team power and battle with up to 35 new characters in events
Enjoy the fact that the Transformers: Earth Wars game has the most playable characters in the franchise!

Transformers: Earth Wars is published by Backflip Studios (DragonVale, Ninjump, Paper Toss) and developed by Space Ape Games (Rival Kingdoms, Samurai Siege). The app brings the excitement of the battle between Autobots and Decepticons to mobile devices with fast-paced gameplay and beautiful 3D animation, allowing the characters to attack, battle, and change right before a player’s eyes. Using authentic storytellers and voice actors from the original franchise, Transformers: Earth Wars enables players to interact with other Transformers fans, as well as millions of people around the world who enjoy real-time combat strategy games.

Transformers: Earth Wars is free and available to download today for iOS and Android mobile devices. The new update is accessible to players who have hit Level 8 or above. For more information, visit www.TransformersEarthWars.com.

Space Apes cannot even get their own press releases right! There are 41 different 4* characters. Actually, it's 120 if you include 2* through 5* versions. They don't allow 1* opposing factions because you can't use free crystals to unlock opposing factions.

New Characters

When your bots are becoming battle-worn, you can rely on Medics to step in and keep them on their feet.  Prepare to make some room in your teams for new bots First Aidand Reflector.

Image
First Aid (Medic)
Highly empathic, First Aid really feels for those he treats, and so works tirelessly to repair the seemingly endless damage caused by war.  That laudable character trait makes First Aid slightly reticent in battle, but he knows that in the end if the Autobots don't fight - and win - the hurting will never stop for anyone, and so he struggles on.

Image
Deploy Medibots - Deploy two Medibots, each with an ability to shield friendly bots blocking 40/45% of incoming damage.

Image
Reflector (Medic)Three bots (Viewfinder, Spyglass and Spectro) in one, Reflector exists to observe, record and document - in other words, spy on people.  He (they) love to find fault in others, and learn their weaknesses, so that he (they) can later exploit that shortcoming.
That said, in a crunch, six hands are better than one.

Image
Reflector Team Up! - Summon Spectro and Spyglass, each with an ability to shield friendly bots blocking 40/45% of incoming damage.

Balancing Changes

Image

We are always making adjustments in-game to ensure fairness and balance across all players. Please see the latest changes below which are coming your way on Thursday March 23rd.

  • Incendiary Barrage (Swindle/Sunstreaker) now displays approximate damage instead of duration (stats unchanged).
  • Whirlwind (Octopunch/Seaspray) cost reduced from 5 to 4.
  • Earth Shatter (Optimus Maximus/Bruticus) - Cast range increased by 1. Damage to walls increased by 16%.
  • Bruticus - Frantic Rage ability range corrected (was not matching Optimus Maximus).

FINALLY, a third medic! This should've happened ages ago back when extra squads first hit; if I was still playing this game I'd be over the moon right now.

Most of the top players don't use medics anymore, so in that light, this is a really terrible leaderboard. But at least it's better than than the last one!
