Transformers Earth Wars Event - Blast From The Past

About time, they've dragged it out for long enough.

Whatever happened to Hun-Grrr and "whoever-the-hell-cares" they had slated for the Autobots?

I played the game for one whole mission before it crashed. I couldn't get to ever work again. And all I wanted was my favorite monkey bot

Assuming this is an alliance event based on the points on the prize board, even though it doesn't say anything about needing to be in an alliance to participate.

As you'll remember, SpaceApe Games sent us one of three pages from their Beast Wars mini-comic to accompany their latest releases for the Transformers: Earth Wars mobile game - now, we have been sent the other two pages again, from fellow fansites TFW2005 and AllSpark, to celebrate the end of the 'egg hunt'! Transformers: Earth Wars Unleashes Prehistoric Power in New Beast Wars Saga Update As New Playable Bots Arrive to Game, Including Optimus Primal and Megatron T-Rex

Real-time combat strategy mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars rolled out its Beast Wars update earlier this month featuring a series of new characters and events, and today marks the official arrival of Optimus Primal and Megatron T-Rex as playable characters. The Beast Wars story centers around Grimlock, who decides to bring Transformers back from the future. Grimlock gets it wrong and brings characters from the past -- Beast Wars characters! Dinobot Grimlock



A rampaging force of nature, Grimlock is the most feared and powerful of the Dinobots, as irascible and savage as the T-Rex his beast mode is modelled on. Combat is in Grimlock's spark, and periods in between battles are simply periods of great frustration and seething resentment. Any display of weakness is worthy only of contempt in Grimlock's optics, but he's not as dumb as he likes people to think, and his courage on the battlefield is the stuff of legend.


Dinobot Slug



Considering he's one of the good 'bots, Slug is as nasty and mean-spirited as they come, and resents everyone from Optimus Prime down. The actual process it takes to build up a fiery (3,000 degrees centigrade plus) blast and reduce an enemy to molten slag is hardly energy-efficient, but he doesn't care. It's firepower well spent in his book. As he often says, "I have no need for friends, even less for enemies."


Dinobot Slog



Despite his plodding, lumbering gait and bulldozer-like approach to anything in his way, Slog is a gentle and even shy 'bot at heart. But conscious of his bellicose fellow Dinobots, and wary of their scorn, he keeps his sensitive side hidden. Slog's seismic footfalls have been known to cause inadvertent landslides, which sometimes bury Slog and anyone nearby, making others dismiss him as clumsy and accident prone.


Dinobot Snarl



Surly and uncommunicative, a loner by nature, Snarl is about as far from a team player as you can get. But in a group comprised of misfits and malcontents, he somehow fits right in. And though he follows orders (grudgingly), what keeps him in line is the promise of mortal combat — and lashings of it. Only the thrill of battle can truly elevate Snarl's spirits and being a Dinobot provides everything his heart desires.


Dinobot Snarl



In army lingo, Snarl is a grunt. Not just because he's infantry, specializing in desert warfare, obediently if grudgingly following the orders of his commanding officer, but because he's a 'bot of few words and fewer opinions, and the most you can get out of him is the odd grunt. A loner by nature, uncommunicative and surly, Snarl only comes to life in the heat of battle, alongside his fellow Dinobots."

Why is Swoop also Snarl? That'd be confusing.

And Swoop/SnarlII's bio leaves out his amiability, which I feel is the character's defining trait. In a group of brutish heavy hitters, he's the closest one to downright friendly.

Those... actually appear to be two legitimate Snarl Bios. Huh.

Additionally, the three Dinobot name changes brought about recently actually kind of make some sense:
Slug, as in slow, or a large shotgun round. Crude and powerful. (Admittedly, Slag works better here)
Slog, as in a powerful hit (What significance did Sludge have, anyways?)
Strafe is much more in line with the tone of the other names than Swoop was (Although Swoop is different from the other Dinobots, being friendly and not-a-dinosaur. Also, Strafe is a Technobot.)

I believe in the original comics, Swoop was given a backstory where his original name was Divebomb, a name later stolen by the Predacon, and he took up 'Swoop' as a replacement.

Modern Predacons and Dinobots (G1 style) that aren't 3P stuff would be awesome indeed.

I'm legit tired from this leaderboard event. I don't even wanna know how those top 5 teams feel right now..

Ended up being an awesome event for me:

-3* Vortex from shards Friday night
-2* Cyclonus from 5 prize crystals
-4*(!!!) Nemesis Prime from 5 prize crystals

My favourite megatron moment was every single time he said

Why look a new theme for the game!

Brought to us by fellow board member Shauyaun, we have news that the smartphone game Earth Wars is about to have a not-so-insignificant update! A beta with a new theme is being released alongside new bots Drift and what appears to be a G1 version of Barricade - likely in a tie-in with The Last Knight - as well as Optimus Prime in his G2 Laser/Titans Return body. How the latter part will play out isn't quite clear especially as the game has so far not given any new looks to pre-existing characters, but check out the images below - taken by player JGEORG5 - and keep your optics to Seibertron for any more news on these developments!

And some people thought TLK Barricade was generic.

Funnily enough this does seem to share a lot in common with the TLK deluxe. Hood chest, most of the car top hanging off his back like kibble, doors on his arms, the rest of him becoming the legs, his head being a faceplated dealio rather than the actual mouth he had in 2007... no idea where the head design came from though. Looks like a motorcycle helmet crossed with a baseball cap.

The TLK Deluxe doesn't have the doors on his arms. They're connected to the car roof and fold inwards into the backpack.

Looks to be the previous Prowl/Streak/Smokescreen mold with a bobby helmet.

I'm actually very excited for Barricade

I just realised these line-ups represent part of each faction's cast in TLK. Megatron has Barricade, a guy called Onslaught and a dragon; while Optimus has Drift, Grimlock and a guy called Hot Rod. Uh, Rodimus. Uh... it counts!

Though then you've also got two other guys in there I can barely make out. I think that's Bludgeon's tank barrel peeking out under Megs and Onslaught, and is that Bumblebee in the background between Rodimus' legs?

Oh yeah Finally we have some G2 in EW but how they're gonna make Laser OP work in EW will be interesting and OH MY GOD Drift and Barricade YASSSS thank you Spaceape but I still need my Straxus , Sludge and Kup when are they coming out

Niiiice me get some G2 in EW finally but it will be interesting to see how they handle Laser OP in-game is he gonna be a variant of Prime or a completely new bot but that will be awesome and they'll probably do a reskin of him into Octane. also YAAAASSSS Drift and Barricade I need these i'm thinking Blurr will be a Reskin of Drift just like the toy was a Repaint/ Retool of him back in Generations 2010. but seriously when are Kup and Snapdragon coming

He'll be a Leaderboard prize first (guessing in 2 weeks) and then eventually he'll rotate into the crystal line up.

Of all the dictators in the Decepticon ranks (and there are a few!) Straxus is among the worst. 

A brutal powerhouse, his word is law, and Straxus will go to any lengths to enforce his policies. Unfortunately, the law according to Straxus can change on a whim, and if you do run afoul of him, don't bother appealing for mercy - he has none. And the sentence is always a short, sharp blow from his battle axe.

 



Seismic Charge - Target a wall with a resonating seismic charge. The explosion dealsdamage for each wall within the radius, and quadruple damage to walls.

I just really want Hungurr. they've been teasing him and Kup for what 2 months and still nothing. We get a bunch of random other guys first that weren't really on the radar!

Question remains ... will it be a leaderboard event or a crystal event with the chance to get Slog/Straxus.

Neither are major characters and a lot of people are over leaderboard events these days so it'll be interesting to see which way the Apes go.

Arggggh I'm more than a little pissed that THIS Event isn't the one where you get Slog(Sludge) or Straxus but I have a feeling when they come Slogs gonna help me a lot when I try to Raid higher level Bases and with me that usually ends with a Crippling defeat but his ability looks like it can Wreck walls easy!

If its the event type where you earn crystals and that could net you a 2-4* character ... then perhaps THIS will be the event where I finally get a 4* character from the character event.

Most likely not though.

We're always looking for ways to improve our events and based on player feedback we've made some changes to our upcoming leaderboard event.

This time round, we've tried to make the event enjoyable for a wider number of players, with the top leaderboard prizes being available to more alliances than before.

Additionally, we have enhancements in the works for future leaderboard events to encourage players to remain in one alliance during the war. This will result in the top 40 player's Battle Points contributing towards the total.

New Characters
Experienced fighters who are ready for battle, Kup and Dead End arrive in Transformers: Earth Wars next week! Get your first look at the new bots with their community voted ability Orbital Bounce!





Kup has been there, done that, got the T-shirt. There's almost nothing this veteran warhorse hasn't seen or experienced - so when it comes to swapping stories his fellow Autobots don't even try to compete.
 
Gruff and grizzled, Kup is forever waxing nostalgic about this battle or that narrow escape. Even if only half of his stories are true, it's still a packed life he's lived. One thing's for sure - he's a born survivor.

 





Despite his dreary, fatalistic certainty that the big shutdown is all that awaits them, Dead End spends more time than any 'bot this side of Sunstreaker making sure he looks his bright shiny best.
 
The "best-looking wreck in the auto junkyard" as Stunticon boss Motormaster likes to say.
 
Nevertheless, Dead End still fights with grim and committed intensity, perhaps determined to take as many Autobots with him as possible.

 



Orbital Bounce - To battle! Teleport to a target location and gain 70% damage reductionand immunity to slows and stuns.

As we all know, Dead End has always had Dustup's head. Just like how Sideswipe has always had Sunstreaker's head!

I feel like this orbital bounce ability is more suited for Skywarp...

Although they did fix Sideswipe's head later on, and I'd say say Dead End's looks okay.

On another note, it looks like that unconfirmed edit on the Wiki was right about Dead End!
