Wait a slagging minute, marked down TO about $70? It's more than the price of a leader figure at the size of a voyager? Are you guys really going to buy that? I'd rather get leader class bumblebee than pay that price for this!
Bah, damn kids these days and their money and MTV and skate boards. *mutter mutter*

Free shipping to home, too.
IDK, might just get it for the alt mode, although I swore it off

It looks like the elbows and knees get disabled w/ the armor added one, I wonder if it could be modded to allow more articulation. Sounds like a challenge!
EDIT- I don't recall seeing comparison pics of this guy with the regular Voyager Optimus, could someone point me to them if I missed them?
Posted by BeastProwl on June 26th, 2011 @ 6:25pm CDT
so im just gonna ask. can you put battle blades prime in there or not? Pics are appreciated!
I just hate the scrawney look of that prime! the truck fists and oddly placed backpack and practically protoform legs just rub me wrong. but it's combined mode is BEAST! It is articulated, and it's huge! HUGE!
the trailer is like I said, a mech suit. It stands on it's own without prime in it. so thats why I'm wondering what i'm wondering!

I'm not alone here, am I? He looks like a bug with that trailer attached.

The kids will definitely find it easier to transform him as opposed to the leader class ROTF OP, but I do wonder if parents will pay that kind of money for it. If I ever buy this, it'll be strictly for my cousin's kids.
I'm opting for the dual model kit and Jetwings OP.

I Ordered it too about a half hour ago. free standard shipping to my house was a steal of a deal that I couldn't pass up.
I paid about $68 for mine.
So perhaps, since my USA state has a 6 percent sales tax. walmart.com is charging the sales tax rate that everyone's individual USA state offers.

Internet sales tax is calculated on the shipping address.
I'm determined that once I get this figure in hand that I can make it look kick ass. I think we've just had some very poorly posed/transformed pics of it so far.

I agree
I plan to try to pose the trailer wings downward to give the angel wings a cape appearance

In my area & the 20+local stores(walmart, target, tru, kmart) that I visit. ROTF Supreme Devestator as a major shelf warmer. their were literally pallets upon pallets of this toy that didn't sell.
stores in my area months/year later had to take drastic steps by doing a major clearance & selling the ROTF supreme devestator for under $30 just to get rid of it.
I didn't care for this toy. I bought & prefer the legends ROTF Devestator combiner better that walmart in america sold as a store exclusive.

the toy comes in a huge box. the box measurements are 16 by 14 by 6 inches deep.
The trailer wings & pointed downward like a cape inside the box. this is probably how i'm going to be displaying this toy in combined robot mode. I'm not a fan of the angel/buterfly upward wings that are posed on the back of the box.
the toy inside the box comes already in combined super robot mode. with a beyond huge mech tech weapon on the right side of the robot inside the inner box.
I just measured the combined robot mode inside the box from head to toe & it measures exactly 12 & 1/2 inches tall.
the mech tech weapon is huge,I measured it & it measures around 8 & 1/2 inches long.
YEAH,THE combined robot mode has a super tiny pin/under sized/small robot head. which makes the whole thing look awkward.
THEIR is a outer helmet that is attached to the mech tech weapon. So i'm most likely going to un-screw the outer helmet & try to place it over the tiny robot head. hopefully I can get something decent looking & similar to the energon leader sized optimus primes combiner outer helmet.
In a couple of days,I'm going to be doing a few u-tube videos on this toy. mainly trying to show what other reviewers of this toy didn't yet.
(1)like how poseable the toy is in combined robot mode. (2) trying to un-screw the robot head outer helmet on the mech tech weapon. then placing the outer helmet on the tiny robot head & seeing if it fits into place without the mech tech weapon attached. (3)doing a few size comparisons with other TF toys in all 3 modes of this dotm toy.
(4) measuring the smaller non-combining ultimate optimus robot mode. and letting everyone know exactly how many inches tall the robot is from head to toe.

From the videos I've seen he looks really simple for a Ultra class figure. My only problem is that he doesn't have a weapon for this particular mode.

HasBLO should have brought us Jetwing Optimus Prime in the States, because, you know, that version ACTUALLY APPEARED IN THE FRAKKIN' MOVIE.
Stupid bugbot piece of crap. Oh well.

Yeah cause, there's absolutely no way that Hasbro can ever even hope to release him release Jetwing Prime. Ever.

I Agree with user897,The DOTM Ultimate optimus prime is a horrible toy.
I don't speak from on-line pics experience. I speak from a point of view of actually owning the toy then returning it.
I Bought the Dotm ultimate optimus prime toy on-line a month+ago when walmart.com first put it up for sale on their web site.
I transformed the toy for a few hours, played with all the parts & so forth.
Lucklily I was able to print out a Receipt from Walmart.com. then I was able to return the DOTM ultimate optime prime toy at my nearest walmart store for a 100% refund & get my money back. I certainly wasn't going to be stuck with this & be out $67+dollars.
the thing I hated/loathed most about this toy was the awful over sized beyond huge mech tech weapon. it's too be,heavy & further ruins the look of a already horrible toy.
second the robot head is too tiny & looks even more tiny in combined robot+trailer super robot mode.
third,if your looking for a new age decently poseable super robot mode, then this toy fails on all accounts.
fourth, this thing reminds me of armada leader sized optimus prime who wears a brick for pants.
FIFTH,All the extra doo dads & whatever further ruin this toy. why exactly did the toy need 2 yellow things next to each side of the robot head. is he picking up satelight tv/radio.
Sixth, again the mech tech weapon doesn't store properly on to the robot back pack. thanks to the weapon being too heavy & all the connector ports being to weak/loose.
Seventh,IMHO,Only get this toy if you want to throw out/storage the trailer & display the toy in smaller $27 usa ultra sized robot mode. as the smaller robot mode is leaps & bounds better than the 2007 voyager & HFTD 2009 Voyager sized optimus prime toy. Honestly this is the best smaller sized movie verse optimus prime toy if you don't like leader sized toys.
Personally, this toy is epic failure as it's got so many negatives & very few positives. to make matters worse, this super robot mode wasn't even featured in the DOTM Movie.
Why exactly did hasbro give us this brick piece a thrash instead of the DA-15 Jetwing optimus prime toy. Jetwing was featured in the DOTM Movie.
I trully hope & pray hasbro releases the takara DA-15 dotm jetwing optimus prime as a Toys R Us store exclusive.
