While the other size classes from the Transformers: Cyberverse toyline have been seen out and about at retail before, there's not been any sightings of Ultra or Ultimate class figures from the line... until now! Fellow Seibertronian JelZe GoldRabbit has found a multitude of Cyberverse toys, among them the very Ultras and Ultimates we were waiting for.

Ultra Class Bumblebee, Grimlock and Starscream, and Ultimate Class Megatron and Optimus Prime, were all sighted at a Target in McKinney, TX. JelZe reports the Ultimate Class toys scanning at $29.99 US.

Corroborating this sighting, we also have a second one from user Cdavid3, who found Ultimate Megatron and Optimus at a Target in San Jose, CA.

Check out the images below, and if you find these figures be sure to post in the Energon Pub Forums and the Sightings Section to let other fans know. And as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more Transformers news and sightings!

Transformers Cyberverse toys are already appearing around the world, and after San Diego Comic Con 2018, the official Hasbro channel has dropped the first promotional video for the toyline - at the whopping length of 15 seconds - featuring the Action Attacker toys for Bumblebee and Grimlock (in the clip itself) and Megatron, Starscream, and Optimus Prime shown at the very end of the clip.

The tagline? Get More Whoa. Keeping in mind the younger audience of both the animated series due this fall, and the target of the toys themselves, you can imagine this may still be an exaggeration. Still, check out the clip below, and let us know what you think of the toys if you have one in hand already!

Okay, So I've sampled Cyberverse Shocky and maybe my standards have just been lowered over the years, but I don't hate him.

His Alt Mode is a cop-out but there is SOME transformation with the front limbs rotating and I like that his alt mode has its own cannon as opposed to Shockwave just using the same gun in both modes, something I always hate (What's the point in transforming if he has the same junk in both modes). Some people have tossed out Beast Wars' penchant for the limbs-as-limbs tactic so I'm kinda used to it by now.

The robot mode is stylized but not too bad. Like other people have said, I'm not to keen on the angry eye. On the plus side, I do like the backpack gimmick and he does have a decent range of poseabilty except for the head which really bugs me just because it's so inexplicable. As much as I think Cyber Series Shockwave looks better, the lack of articulation is annoying.

I should mention that I almost picked up Starscream too, but the lack of knees killed it for me. Shockwave is the only figure in the line that I found an interest in.

Thanks to our ole review pal chuckdawg1999, we have a new review for you to check out today: Cyberverse Ultimate Class Optimus Prime. This is the first review we have gotten for the ultimate class figures, and this larger class sort of has a tough crowd, considering the overall low reviews and opinions of the Cyberverse toyline so far, save Shockwave.

But Ultimate Optimus Prime here actually appears to be quite a decent figure, at least according to Chuck. The figure itself has pretty good posability and a pretty neat gimmick that works in both modes, along with a decent Transformation as well, and, as Chuck says, he feels pretty sturdy too.

Check out Chuck's thoughts below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

With the Ultimate Class from the Cyberverse line, we get a great Neo-G1 Optimus Prime. Transformation is simple but features a nice throwback nod to G1 Optimus Prime, that results in a cool, futuristic truck mode. The gimmick is fun and nonobtrusive unless you have large hands like me. Overall Ultimate Class Optimus Prime is a great figure you can have a lot of fun with.

But on a serious note the toys look really fun. From what I can see from Chuck's vid this line is going to be interesting!

What is "ultimate" about this figure?

It looks like a poorly articulated, oddly molded, cheap bit of garbage.

THANKS! I don't hate it either, neither the robot or the alt mode and from the responses I was getting, I was starting to think I was nuts.

I actually picked this guy up today after finding a distinct lack of Lockdown and Ant-Man on the shelves (just saw Ant-Man and the Wasp, loved it!) and since this guy is the only one in the line that interests me at all I figured I'd give him a shot. He's alright, nothing amazing but fun. He's got basic articulation, his shoulders can move back a bit (nice surprise) and while he has no ankle tilts he's got big feet so he stands up well. Only big complaint I have is that his gimmick will NOT STOP ACTIVATING ITSELF. It's on a hair trigger and it's incredibly annoying, and a few panels stay in place only using gravity, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. I might paint him a bit, I don't really like the black tossed onto his hands and waist, looks bad to me. I'm also considering gluing his gimmick shut so I never have to deal with it again. That said, he's still fun and generally will look good on a shelf.

The Cyberverse line is out in full now across several countries but unlike most cartoon centered Transformers toylines preceding it, the excitement just isn't there. A lot of that has to do with the fans simply not knowing what this line entails. When it was first revealed the toys that seemed to have the most potential were Warrior Shockwave, Scout Megatron and Ultimate Megatron. Warrior Shockwave turned out to be ok (though not great), Scout Megatron turned out to be a major let down (not being able to fully transform) and now we will see about Ultimate Megatron.

I will cut to the chase, he is fine for kids, much better than the simpler toys of this size from Robots in Disguise, but still just a shadow of the great toy it could be. And it wouldn't need so much more. He reminds me a lot of Leader Animated Megatron in a way, with the similar aesthetics and decent yet simple transformation that efficiently gives you two good looking modes. It also reminds me of the Cybertron line where the robot is fully made up of the alt mode parts yet we see different sides of the same part to give the two modes different details. I love those two lines, so this is high praise, but the toy falls short mostly due to lack of crucial articulation and intrusive gimmick.

Now let's get to it.

We get the toy in robot mode and my instinct is to try posing him. That's where the problems start and where the interest starts sinking fast. For a big figure, he does not have much more articulation than a very basic toy. There is no articulation at the neck, bicep, elbow, wrist and no thing swivel. You cannot even move the cannon out of the way to see his other fist. So the static pose is his main stance, though you are welcome to try other poses.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

The gimmick gives him another stance where you bring the arms together (this is the same transformation step for getting him into tank mode) where you can press a button and flip out to cannon. This makes it look like the cannon is firing and while we did see stock photos of this, there is no lock in mechanism so you can only keep seeing this effect when you keep pressing.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Turning him into a tank is easy and I am sure I have seen this transformation elsewhere (titanium Fallen?) But I didn't mind. For a simpler toy, it has some nice steps, especially the feet. It's a simple but elegant way to get from his lower leg into his full tank treads.

Image

Image

Image

I can see a young kid really enjoying this transformation. It's easy but very blocky, like one of the simpler Cybertron toys. And in tank mode, all the parts that made up the robot are flipped so you see new detail for the tank mode. The tank looks great, I have no issues with it, and unlike some other tank Transformers, you can't make out the fists as easily even though there is no extra step to hide them.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

This is easily the better mode for me. The gimmick makes more sense here, it rolls and basically get the job done as well as I would expect for any tank former. Its got a nice meaty size too, especially height wise.

Image

Image

So in the end, this is a major step up from the Power Surge and three step figures from Robots in Disguise, so that’s good news for kids. However, it is not on par with leader toys from the Cybertron era though I do see some similarities in the design to what we got in the Animated and Cybertron leaders. This can be the basis for a much better toy, but as it stands I do not recommend him to collectors.

Doesn't look like a very good toy at all to me. Simplistic is fine but it's just terrible looking in sculpt, shape and design. And that face is horrendous.

(though I'm not massively fond of that Cybertron Prime or Animated Megatron and I've owned both those...not intentionally but as parts of large lots so yeah this figure was never gonna be for me.)

Universe Galvatron also had a similar transformation of treads to legs...yet also made it more complicated due to his issues.

Looks like a good kids toy. A decent look overall, simple transformation, and a relatively unobtrusive gimmick. My kids don't care about articulation (and neither did I as a young'un) so this should be fine for them.

Honestly, this toyline is not looking good, the lack of articulation for poorly executed gimmicks, the gimmicks titled with cringe-worthy attacks...
I finally realized what these toys remind me of! You remember those Fast Action Battlers from '07?

Tell me I'm not the only one seeing how this line is mimicking the FAB toys. Like, more so than the usually kid aimed Transformers sub-lines (One-step Changers, Activators, Deployers, etc.). Like statically, they don't look horrible, but then when you get into the articulation and gimmick, oh boy.

So here in the UK, the argos catalogue is out with all the cyberverse lines accounted for except scout class...which may actually be a good thing. £15.99 for warrior class, £20.99 for ultra and £29.99 for ultimate. Still on the fence about warrior shockwave but I think I may crack and get him.

I think you hit the nail right on the head there. 2007 and RotF Fast Action Battlers, AoE Power Battlers/Attackers have the same principle. So they're Warrior Class in name only.

Fans have decided by now if this line is for them or not. However, many fans are also parents and this line may interest your kids. Due to the very little attention given to this toyline by the youtube community, there have not been a variety of toy reviews done for all classes. The first video review for Transformers Cyberverse Grimlock was just uploaded yesterday. Since these toys are all gimmick based, these reviews can give you a good look at the actual gimmick and help you figure out if this would be a good toy for yourself or your kids.

Below you will find video reviews for all Scout class toys including Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock and Bumblebee. As you will see, those toys do not fully transform. Their gimmick remained largely unknown so this is our first good look at a few of them.

There are also videos for Ultra class Grimlock, Bumblebee and Starscream.

Enjoy!

Saw these for the first time at Target today. I didn't expect the Scouts to be so tiny, I was thinking they'd be closer to Legends size, not Legion. $8 is asking way, way, WAY too much for tiny figures that don't even transform properly.

They include Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream. as you can see, these are new molds compared to wave 1, meaning they are more accurate to their show models (well, promotional pics as of late).

Not quite. The Autobot Cars and larger toys focused on retooling or switching out parts, while smaller toys like the Jumpstarters, some Mini-Bots and most Micromasters have shared transformations instead. More recently, the AoE One-Steps had a few standard schemes (the "switchblade" has become a mainstay), which RiD 2015 expanded on. Cyberverse seems to be revisiting some.
