Those 2 new bots look really good, especially Thunderhowl. That is a fantastic original character for the deluxe price point.
And that Rack n' Ruin!!!! YESSSSS!!!!!!!

Looks like a pretty good figure plus he has knees AND elbows and a non-intrusive play feature so he should be decent.
I like Thunderhowl, but I think the original art with blue and silver looks better than the blue and gold, hopefully that changes. Still, I'll be more than happy to get a big knightly bot no matter what the color scheme ends up being.
Megatron's looking like a Tarn retool waiting to happen with that new double barreled canon.
Hammerbyte looks like a repurposed Sky-Byte figure that never happened. Also when did the word bite become too violent to use so the new guy has to use the old guy's spelling? Just because they're robots doesn't mean you get to use the same play on words twice.

That's the one part I am not too fond of. I wish it were an optional component, like with some starscreams. Will still get it though, I like what they've done with the robo feet.
What makes you think it doesn't come off?
I don't see it as an extra accessory in the box. But hey, if it comes out then that's great.
Anyways, here is me looking at these reveals

I'm guessing from their designs that Thunderhowl, Hammerbyte, Iaconus and possibly Meteorfire will be this show's answer to the Knights of Cybertron, or perhaps the Knights of Iacon from the Michael Bay films but with more diverse alt modes rather than parts of a dragon.

It's one of the rules of Super Robots, everything looks better with a Cape or a cloak.

That Bludgeon is fine if you are 4, but I wouldn't recomend him to anyone older, he's not that great.

If you like the tank mode, then try to find a loose copy of the one from RID, it's the same tank.

A little late to the party, but those new animal like characters are COOL! I don't know about the toys, but the character designs/ideas are neat!

At this point cyberverse is what generations should have become, but never will, and I commend it for that

It's also kinda like a "Take 2" on what the Aligned media tried to be, telling several of the same story beats from the Binder in a different way.Hellscream9999 wrote:Cobotron wrote:I've said it before, but I'll say it agaian. this line should really be called, Transformers: The Greatest Hits Album.Stargrave wrote: This show is great it keeps pulling fans in with the use of these cool characters new and old.

Agreed, though who knows, maybe the characters will bleed over to other lines at some point, and generations will run out of G1 characters at some point. Who's going to want another G1 Prime?

I love some good JJ humor.
Dude I guarantee you these characters are going to be reused for years (generations?) to come.
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on February 16th, 2020 @ 3:17pm CST
Generations is an extension of Classics first and foremost, hence the term CHUG (Classics Henkei Universe Generations). It's always been a neo-G1 line at heart. It did include toys based on the Aligned-continuity War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games when Hasbro changed the branding from "Transformers 2010/Reveal the Shield" to "Generations"... but that portion of the Aligned continuity is essentially "pre-exodus G1 but 15x edgier", and the characters featured were largely G1-based.
Honestly, I'm fine with CHUG being G1-dominated. Because with the G1 characters, they usually stand to gain compared to their original toys and the primitive engineering thereof. And there's always the pursuit of bringing them more in line with this or that aesthetic, and the show's robot mode scale...
With later series, you don't have that as much. True, some of the Unicron Trilogy toys had their own articulation problems and would stand to gain on that front... but they also stand to get HEAVILY watered-down on other fronts. Just look at Universe Hot Shot, Generations Armada Starscream, and SIEGE Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime.

Bludgeon is in 2 waves. Maybe you saw the one that doesn't have repugnus as a wavemate.

Also, the spark armor is still lingering on shelves here, which ones would you all recommend as the strongest or best? A few of them have caught my eye, even if most of the line is slightly too gimmick heavy for me. Im glad the line has been so well received by everybody so far

Skybyte is the best with Ratchet as second.

The line appears to have two size classes, Officer Class and Trooper Class and uses Voice Activation technology to activate the armour up function (Officer Class only) and other features. Officer Class toys can also interact with Trooper Class, unlocking exclusive phrases and other sounds. The figures aslo feature electronic lights that can shine through the translucent armour pieces.
The Officer Class will retail for $49.99 each while Trooper Class will sell for $24.99. Interestingly, the included information about the Officer Class Optimus Prime figure lists him as Walmart only.
While there only appears to be Optimus Prime and Bumblebee for the Officer Class so far, the Trooper Class will have at least two waves, with Bumblebee, Meteorfire and Wildwheel in the first, and Megatron and Starscream in the second.
