Here's the official synopsis:
"In Season 2 of Transformers Cyberverse the Autobots are closer than ever to finding the Allspark, but completing their quest will be tougher than they could have imagined. They'll face new enemies and be challenged by Earth's roughest terrain, and along the way they'll discover that, when near the Allspark, they are imbued with incredible new powers."
And out of all the quick cut character glimpses in there we have confirmation that the flying creatures are in fact a call back to the classic Transformers Beast Wars character Skyhammer! This comes from a post to Cyberverse story editor Randolph Hurst's Twitter:
"An exciting new #CYBERVERSE Season 2 trailer! Some quick glimpses of stuff we didn't think you would see yet. Who would put Air Hammers into a #TRANSFORMERS animated show? That's just crazy!"
Then thanks to Seibertronian ZeeDust we have word the first six episodes are currently available to at least some of our audiences with access to certain cable TV providers offering On Demand Cartoon Network programming. Check your local provider to see if you can get a peek ahead of the rest of us.
So far the first two episodes can be found on line through the Cartoon Network app with the season set to officially debut September 7th.
Who do you spot in the trailers? Are you Beast Wars fans loving the call back? And was that a Titan in there? Share your thoughts on these episodes in the forum and tell us what you see.

So, who do we think the giant head is? Also, did I spot a flock (school?) of Air Hammers?

It’s such a trip to see Hot Rod just kinda running around with Prowl. What cameos have been some of your favorites so far? I like Slipstream in there I love having a female Seeker it just fits so well. I know a few people were double taking on Rack n’ Ruin.

Rack n' Ruin were definitely a nice surprise, as was seeing Deadlock before he became Drift. I really hope there's more cameos planned.

They show her in the opening, and had her come out of the arc with the other Autobots, but are they actually going to do anything with her? I didn't even notice her in the trailer

There is a voice actor listed for her, so she'll likely get at least one word in. But based off the synopses I've read, she might just be a background character. Hopefully she'll at least be given a one step.
Also, I noticed Laserbeak in the trailer, so we can take him off the list of toy only characters.

I think the only ones left on that list are Blackarachnia, Jazz, Sideswipe, and Silverbolt.

Literally the last scene of S1 E18 is Prime waking up, and a Decepticon battleship heading towards Earth, and the Autobots charging into battle. The opening scene of S2 E1 is BB having some dodecahedron looking *thingy* and he then realizes he is on the moon in a full blown battle...
Is this jarring incoherent story telling done on purpose, or was I watching heavily edited versions online?

However when I began to watch season 2 I felt like I must have missed a LOT. But I went back and watched the last episode of season 1 again, I wasn't wrong. There seems to be a BIG hole between these two stories.

There was a time jump between seasons one and two. The dodechahedron is the Allspark and that exact scene was in season one.

It helped a little. But not much.
We've gone from a premise where it was a voiceless Bumblebee suffering memory loss being accompanied by Windblade against a handful of Decepticons, the majority of which are just seeker grunts, to ... a full complement of characters.
And Bumblebee can speak.
Oh and we're back to Starscream trying to overthrow Megatron.
Again.
It was a good dynamic back in the day. But come on, stop rehashing things. They had an original premise with S1 and they've thrown it away to rehash.
Hopefully future episodes are better.

I gotta agree with you there. I'm okay with Starscream usurping Megatron, but only if it's done in a unique way. I miss the days of Cybertron, where they actually built up Starscream plotting behind Megatron's back as opposed to his G1 self loudly proclaiming to everyone that he'd overthrow Megatron. Animated did a pretty good job with this too, where it decided to have Starscream just start his own micro-faction. Prime had him take command when Megatron was actually down for the count and not just suffering from minor injuries. Hopefully they'll go a unique route with this in future episodes, but it seems unlikely so far.Burn wrote:Oh and we're back to Starscream trying to overthrow Megatron.

This was quite possibly the most violent beating Megatron has ever delivered to Starscream in a TF cartoon that I can recall.
And this is aimed at very young kids ...

There was the time that Megatron (as Galvatron) did just straight up murder Starscream.Burn wrote:The other thing with Starscream/Megatron that threw me, was the beating Megatron inflicted on him.

Yeah, but that was quick. Most Megatron on Starscream violence has been quick, a backhand here, a face punch there.
This was a prolonged beating. Megatron took pleasure in beating Starscream to death (well I presume he's dead anyway).

Since Starscream's the season-long main antagonist who makes an ambitious power play gambit against both Autobot and Decepticon alike over the course of the remaining episodes, I doubt he's down for the count.Burn wrote:Sabrblade wrote:There was the time that Megatron (as Galvatron) did just straight up murder Starscream.Burn wrote:The other thing with Starscream/Megatron that threw me, was the beating Megatron inflicted on him.

See it feels unfair for me to judge though I’m like a grown adult I feel I’m too much at a point where I’m not sure if I’d like this or not as a kid. And Prime is cool, but again I’m not sure if the voice acting is really selling it for me.
It’s definitely Transformers. Transformers are awesome pretty much any way you cut it. That absolves me right? Transformers always does well in a plot of the week romp and this fits that mold.
I think I’m needing the Netflix show like yesterday. That’s my issue I bet I’m all focused on that and the greater levity and plot structure I hope it will bring.

Greater levity? Most are thinking it's gonna be another adult-aimed dark series, and fear it could be as bad as the Prime Wars Trilogy webseries that Machinima made.Stargrave wrote:I think I’m needing the Netflix show like yesterday. Ah that’s Machinima. This is Netflix. Voltron did pretty well. They do a lot of shows well. I’m highly optimistic and it feels like a safe bet it’ll be better than the Prime Wars.

Ya gotta admit Siege has a lot of potential for something awesome.

I have seen some stop-motion series that are better both animation wise and story wise than the live action films. And those have budgets almost three times larger than Netflix shows. It's not about what resources you use, but how you use those resources.Stargrave wrote:I still consider a YouTube series that garnered mostly negative reviews from the fandom different than a show on a platform dedicated to shows and movies that also produces shows and movies. I mean the resources in comparison alone have got to be pretty different.

Ugh, I know... that Megatron gun mode finale was pretty boss though
They had so few characters. I want Siege to be like Neo Tokyo Blade Runner city streets full of Cybertronians and neon signs I want Coruscant on Cybertron.
Wars made Cybertron seem almost desolate at times.
Know what? Those stop motion battles are so awesome and I love Robot Chicken. A stop motion show would be so cool

That was supposed to be a time jump?....I can almost guaranty nobody got that unless they read it online somewhere. Leave the time jumps to Young Justice, or at least shows that can write them competently.

I certainly hope so. I really want it to be good, but I've been burned before. All I can say is, while Machinima was a bust all around. Netflix is at least 50/50. For every Voltron, there is unfortunately a She-Ra. let's hope its more like the former, than the latter.

Season 2 Episode 1 did have a bunch of flashbacks showing the Transformers activity on Earth following the awakening of the Ark's crew, so it was pretty evident that there was a time skip.o.supreme wrote:Decepticon Stryker wrote:There was a time jump between seasons one and two. Don't forget that Netflix is only the distributor. They didn't make Voltron, Dreamworks and WEP did. Likewise, Netflix isn't making the TF show it's going to air, Rooster Teeth is making it.o.supreme wrote:Stargrave wrote:Ah that’s Machinima. This is Netflix. Voltron did pretty well. Regardless of whether it was evident to everyone or not, the first few minutes were incredibly confusing. Not to mention those flashbacks didn't fill in the time jump gap completely.

Was the flashback montage before the title card? If so that would explain some of the confusion because the version I saw online only started with the title card. The first thing you see is BB with the *Allspark*

The season starts in medias res like Beast Machines did, only minus the intent of the characters trying to figure out what's going on and why they themselves don't remember how they got to Cybertron or why they're being attacked.
Anyway, Walruslaw has the first six episodes available to watch.
