“Bumblebee, with the help of stowaway Dinobots Sludge, Snarl, Swoop, and Slug, and the Autobots set up a plan to takedown Megatron-X.”
This is great news to anyone who felt the TV show ended rather abruptly. We also see that we will have the first appearance of the other dinobots within Cyberverse's story.

- Is there a new "big bad" antagonist (as with TFP's "Predacons Rising" concluding movie), or is the conflict more abstract (factionalism, restoring Cybertron, integrating the forgotten corners of the planet, etc.)?
- Is "our" Megatron dead or merely incapacitated?
- Will the "other" Megatron be identified in dialogue as Megatron-X?
- Just how long can Astrotrain contain him?
- Will Astrotrain get a third mode?
- Will black-Megatron transform into something that promotes the triple-changer toy? (His CG model is, like grey-Megatron, mostly tank-featured.)
- What happens to his army of not-Tarn?
- Given the Decepticon leadership vacuum, does a new leader arise? Especially since grey-Megatron was not exactly candid re: the threat of black-Megatron? Or do they decide there's no reason to continue the factions?
- Given Optimus's evident discomfort with being a civilian leader, is a peacetime Autobot government installed?
- Do we see more of Meteorfire, Cosmos and Hammerbyte? (Gotta amortize those CG models.)
- What about the Cthulhoid titan lurking the depths of the Argon sea?
- Is the head of Iaconus retrieved from unspace?

Why wouldn't the two movies air on Cartoon Network? Everything else of Cyberverse has so far.Bumblevivisector wrote:Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there any chance of those last few episodes airing on Cartoon Network, or will they only be online for the U.S.? Come to think of it, that's also how Cybertron's cartoon ended, wasn't it?
And, no, Cybertron did finish its run on Cartoon Network.

Ok, so here's a rough run-down of the info I have.
Megatron-X returns, and plans to take over the entire multiverse, recruiting bots from a bunch of dimensions.
Sludge, Swoop, Snarl and Slug stowaway somehow and join up with the Autobots. They discover a way to create Volcanicus (the Ultimate Warrior) the only autobot powerful enough to defeat Megatron-X.
Not sure how the show designs will translate to toys but they look super cool.
Grimlock - Normal
Sludge - tail turns into large sword/lance blade
Slug - has his axe and a double barreled cannon on his back in dino-mode.
Snarl - tail turns into an awesome club.
Swoop - long tail turns into a sweet whip.
Volcanicus - cool bot mode - swoops wings enlarged to predaking size, has a large sword. Has an awesome combined alt-mode which is a dragon. (Might be made as a combined ultimate class figure)
New roll and combine gimmick
Bumblebee + Swoop
Megatron + Slug
Wheeljack + Grimlock
I also get the feeling this is kind of a filler line, with a new series potentially launching in 2022 with new designs/continuity. (Lots of carry forward/pack refreshes)

I would doubt it, creative team said Rodimus Prime wasn't a consideration, but they wanted to show Hot Rod himself as having leadership potential. Same way Unicron was never considered for the show in any form

That was just Sludge and Snarl (and the newcomer, Slash). I'm talking about all four of the classic team members, together.

Only 4 of them are classic? Which of the five doesn't count as a classic member for you?
Also, here is some more lovely dinobot action for you

Grimlock was already part of the Cyberverse cast, so he doesn't count in this case. Ergo, the other four are who I'm excited to see.

Transformers Cyberverse NEW Netflix Special Out Nov 21! Transformers Official
This is posted on their youtube page. Cyberverse was available on their Youtube Channel and on Cartoon Network but now it seems Netflix will be the place for new Cyberverse content. We know there are at least 2 tv movies/specials coming our way along with a slew of new toys, which means the younger Transformers fans will have new Transformers on both the shelves and screens.

So glad you gave it a chance and liked it. I do too. And yeah, the ending is abrupt but I reckon that's because it isn't the end. My favorite part was the Quintesson takeover. That's a storyline I think any G1 fan would really like.

Autobots and Decepticons working together on a bigger foe. Man I hope they make a big Astrotrain and a big and heavy metal looking Trypticon. They are doing the Dinobots so cool.
I love the mixture of tension and humor and the animation style I came to enjoy.
Now I still need to get a Bumblebee that's a bit smaller than a deluxe...
Good stuff, it has energy, nice mixture of characters.

Black Bumblebee wrote:I enjoyed the first movie (and was rather surprised to see it drop on YouTube first of all places). Gave lots of personality to characters such as Bugbite and Soundblaster that have been previously ignored. I also enjoyed seeing the way that Trypticon and Volcanicus were treated as characters and not just "big and dumb" bots.
Looking forward to the next movie!
I think all of the Cyberverse cartoons came to YouTube on the same manner, right? I'm even more impressed that they're not region-blocked for me in Japan, as (western) TF media usually is.

Good Family Fun
It was a total coincidence that I watched this special right after watching the classic G1 episode "Call of the Primitives" which is also Dinobot heavy. I was watching it since my 4 year old and I were playing with Combiner Wars toys and having the Dinobots face off against the Terrorcons and I wanted to show him an episode with both those groups. We had fun, as you'd imagine. Since I watched that episode on Youtube, I was recommended this special from Cyberverse that had just dropped and I called my 6 year old to join us in watching it.
Watching these back to back, I saw a nice throughline in Transformers media. This Cyberverse special (and the show in general) was targeting the exact same audience the G1 show did at the time while being a new interpretation of the same characters, further cementing my belief that Cyberverse is as close to a G1 reboot as one could imagine when considering every sense of the what that could entail. It's just fun.
My kids were never bored during these 44 minutes, neither was I, and the show made good use of this longer run time. One thing I really liked was seeing the dynamics of what it meant to be a combiner. While combiners have been a part of Transformers lore for a long time, I think this is our best depiction of that concept on TV (or film) so far in both the visuals and the writing. In terms of visuals, the Cyberverse design team has come up with their own Transformation scheme for Volcanicus, which differs from the original design. It mixes in transformation elements from Super Sentai (Power Rangers) and other combining robots, making this transformation scheme stand out within Transformers, and we see them go from combined to uncombined mode to achieve different tasks in a more fluid way than we ever have. There is a lot of time given to the team understanding what it is to be a combiner and how to work together. As I wrote, the longer running time is used very well here to see the process.
In terms of villains, any fan of deep cut characters will have a blast. Hasbro seems really keen on a third faction these days. We saw that in the Earthrise cartoon and a similar group is seen in this special. Plus, a similarly themed third faction will also be the main antagonists in the next live action film. And there is some character overlap between the depiction of this faction across those 3 different media interpretations. I won't say more, especially since these new characters all get a fun introduction and I wouldn't want to spoil it. I do love that with these villains come some major stakes, which is something the Cyberverse series has been known to do (like Shockwave attempting to eradicate all life on earth in the first season just to get rid of any possible nuisance).
Also, I do like the sense of continuity the Cyberverse show has had. The season 3 finale left us with a major character death and this episode shows what dynamics changed within the hierarchy. As a Transformers fan, this is what stood out to me most in this episode, even if that wasn't the focus.
Last thing before I go, if you are a fan of Soundwave, this is a must watch. I always loved the connection he had with his cassettes and this special gives conveys that to us in a way I had not seen aside form the comics.
Posted by william-james88 on November 6th, 2021 @ 11:56pm CDT
Also really cool to see who's in charge of the Decepticons when Megatron is no more. So we have Soundwave, plus Shadowstriker, Strika and freaken Skybyte?!?!?!?! Didn't realize how high ranking he came to be, pretty fun.
Oh and while I didn't give spoilers in the front page review, since this special can literally be seen by almost anyone, we can spoil away in the comments.
