Just got caught up, last one I saw before today was Shadow Striker.

10 and 11 were awesome episodes, deserve some kind of award, episode 12 fell a bit out, and 13 I hope leads into something bigger, Maccadam's is my favorite of this series so far though.

Seeing how evil Shockwave's altered idea of Bumblebee's past was, is one of the most traumatizing things I've seen in a show for kids this young :SG-BOTS:

It would be like if Rescue Bots suddenly had Batman Beyond level stuff in it.

I was kinda looking forward to this show, I wasn't expecting it to be THIS good. Wow. The show started out average and now is developing more and more, and I really enjoy it. ;)^

And we're almost to the end of the first... "Chapter", as the batches of episodes are called in this show. Chapter One will end with Episode 18.

Isn't it always an impossibly bug number like that? I reckon they part time it like only fight one day a year or something, although even that number woukd still be ridiculous

Its usually been 4 million years. While still high, it gets more and more incredulous that the war has not ended yet. Especially in this case where the leader was presumably absent for 65 million years.

Funnily enough, the Fall of Cybertron video was almost set 65 million years ago, in an attempt to justify the altmodes of that game's Dinobots. Matt Tieger claimed in a couple of interviews for the game that it was set 65 million years ago. Thankfully, the Fall of Cybertron prequel comics and Prime Beast Hunters comics each provided an in-universe source that put the game's timeframe as being "Thousands of years ago" rather than 65 million, with the FOC comics having that Shockwave look into Earth's past for inspiration when he created the Dinobots' altmodes, and thus effectively overriding Tieger's out-of-universe claim.

I like that route, its the same used in the G1 cartoon and beast wars. what also makes no sense is that Grimlock had all that dino kibble before he landed on earth 65 m years ago. Even my daughter was confused.
Also the show keeps changing Acid Storm's gender from show to show, its annoying as fuck.

Everyone in this show has their Earth kibble/vehicle modes seen on Cybertron in the flashbacks. Grimlock's just continuing the trend, barring his in-universe new altmode. I guess the animators couldn't make separate Cybertronian-bodied character models for everybody.

Though, the G1 cartoon likewise had everyone with Earth kibble in their Cybertronian robot modes.

It really switches from one episode to the next. Would be nice if they got their shit together

Also, we know there are coneheads and we have seen them in flashbacks, so I dont know why Thrust is not a conehead in the present.

Well, I still care about those. I want OP vs Megs all day everyday, I just love that rivalry and those showdowns. If Hasbro is listening, please make more.

Really enjoyed the callback to Fall of Cybertron Grimlock. I wouldn't mind if Grimlock kept that sort of beast mode is brute mode deal, but robot mode is more articulate. It's a nice reference to FOC without making him the Hulk. but I really enjoy both Grimlocks

Acid Storm had the female voice (and VA) for the whole show, they didn't start using the female face 'til Siloed though.

So after reducing the 4 million year time gap to about 1 million in the Unicron Trilogy, IDW and the Bayniverse ironically eliminating it for TF arrival on present-day Earth while working more nebulous time gaps into prehistory, Animated reducing the time gap to 50 years, and Prime's Predacon prehistory perhaps perplexing us most of all after Unicron's reveal meant Earth had always had a connection to Cybertron...

...we finally get a TF universe with a straight-up +65 million year time gap to explain the Dinobots...all 1 of them.

Just seems long overdue, is all I'm saying.

And implies that all the searches for energon, the Ark, any Allsparks etc. really were totally blind, spanning the whole universe. Can't wait to see what all gets retconned into this huge time gap over the next 3 years or so!

But, that Megatron was neither half-dead from an accident nor hooked up to life support. That was his control harness that allowed him to control all of Cybertron in full totalitarian rule, seeing and hearing everything on the planet's surface Big Brother style.

I’ve head cannon it to be a bit of both, since he fell without any protection though the fury of a time vortex, which in turn damaged/aged his organic half and mentally damaged him as well, but that’s just my head cannon

He is phantomatic overall, that's his vibes.

BH Skylinx,he look squellettic but does he is really a zombie?
Some display advice:bipedial with dragon head and big hand, there's a gap beetween them and the arms sadly,i paint his eyes in dark violet but i could have choose black.

Whereas in the actual show itself, his beast mode looked wrecked because of all of his experimentations to get rid of it and its organic aspects.

While we started with roundtable reviews of episodes, as we got nearer to the end of the year it was not as easy to plan such articles. So for this batch, it's just me. For those who have some catching up to do as we near the finale, I have the youtube links right below the quick fire reviews.

Transformers: Cyberverse 11

Sabotage

Summary: Shockwave traps Bumblebee in a false memory designed to convince him he's a Decepticon.

Quick Thoughts: Shockwave has always been a rather underutilized villain in shows. Often on the sidelines. That is very contrasting to the comics where he has several times been an even bigger nemesis than Megatron himself. I really like the middle ground between those two extremes that this show takes. We have him as the diabolical scientist and as a looming threat but also getting his hands dirty for some immediate villainous treachery. My only problem is I think his plan was dumb, you would think someone that smart would come up with a plan that an amnesiac Bumblebee couldn't poke holes through in a matter of minutes.

Transformers: Cyberverse episode 12

Teletraan X

Summary: Windblade and Bumblebee trace an Autobot signal and find themselves lured into a trap set by Slipstream and her Seekers.

Quick Thoughts: I am not a fan of quirky characters, and that's what Teletraan X is. But hey, at least it's better than that Peter Dinklage drone from Destiny. It's cool to see the show come into it's own without relying on cool G1 fan wank flashbacks, though I find the seekers to not be that meaningful of threats. Also, while I do not care that Hasbro made Acid Storm female in this version, it gets quite frustrating to have the use a male seeker body for her.

Transformers: Cyberverse episode 13

Matrix of Leadership

Summary: Bee learns the meaning of leadership through three memories of Optimus Prime.

Quick Thoughts: Back to flashbacks, but I am not complaining. This is all the stuff a kid wants to see, Optimus being a bad ass (with no face removals). I also like seeing his Autobot light up shield since it makes it a fun gimmick kids can recreate with his toys, I am all for toy/show synergy. A fine episode but I still preferred the previous Optimus appearances.

Cyberverse episode 14

Siloed

Summary: The Seekers attempt to extract the location of the Ark from Windblade's memories.

Quick Thoughts: While the Maccadams episode is all kinds of special, I feel this might be my favourite. We get to see the show not dwell on flashbacks and focus on Windblade, a rather new character in Transformers lore. So it gives us a good look at what the show has to offer aside from all the fan oriented callbacks. And it is better WIndblade content than anything we have ever gotten in Machinima. I also love the Decepticon hierarchy and how scared the seekers are of Shockwave. The action was excellent and I love the little details, like how Windblade in jet mode has to do a slight circle to be able to escape vertically.

It’s no longer surprising anymore that when a transformers cartoon gets announced and when clips start rolling it’s just panned and hated by the fandom and does a full 180 eventually.

thats not a dig at you Will. Just something I have noticed now. 4-5 months ago before the release this series just loathed and now the first season has finished and it’s got overwhelming praise. There will always be that snarky fan here and there that will claim they could do better but over all it’s a solid series and is finally recognized for its merits.

Does i am the "snarky fan"?Maybe i'm paranoid like my comment about PAWlitic that has mysteriously dissapered,Trevor Knight felt forced to mention Sauron for cinephile marketing, you must know he's a reference to George Soros. Then,i talked about interracial promotion in the new movie but beetween a black and a jew.

About CYBERVERSE,i just lack enthousiasm. Can you say where the "overwhelming praise"come from? There's no message in that question.Did i missed something?

I thought first about feminism but even Grimlock is stronger than Bee,there's stil Shadowstriker who can attack him with hands.

Okay your first paragraph is a giant mess that’s makes no sense and I gave up trying to figure out. And this is from someone with dyslexia and has grammar problems himself.

As for your second. On any message board you can find people saying that as the series progressed it won them over and really got a sense of enthusiasm as the story began progressing.

The overpowered Windblade we talked about some time ago.I even remember a more recent scene where she take a big punch on her face and stand up like if nothing happened.

She’s a robot dude they’re not human beings. We’ve seen these characters been shot in the face, cut in half, fall from orbit, dumped in acid and lava, building fall on them. Who the hell cares if she’s punched in the face and gets back up.

Complaining about being punched in the face and getting back up like it was nothing? That is reaching for flaws to pathetic heights especially is you’re trying throw feminism at it.

And yeah your first paragraph in any sense but that’s fine. Most people who say that’ stuff don’t see the wrong but even with grammar. Like, holy crap. I hope you got a thesaurus for Christmas.

Your first paragraph didn't make sense because you went off on a tangent that had no bearing on anything anyone was taking about, especially since you went from what Travis Knight said in a bit about an idea he had for Megatron in the movie, to George Soros to the relationship the main humans have in the movie (except they don't as you'll see when you watch the movie) but none of this has anything to do with Cyberverse.

As for this cartoon, I really need to pull my finger out and finish the series, Christmas preparations have really knocked me for six.

Okay, seriously? Dude, when Travis Knight mentioned Sauron, he was talking about the main bad guy from Lord of the Rings, not some real world politician. This is Sauron:

I understand but you must know his name is a reference, whatever if Travis know it,cinephile...

It's getting off topic too much,i apologize.

No it isn't. Tolkien made the name up, deriving it from a word in a fictional language that he also invented for his stories. It has nothing to do with any real world person's name. To think otherwise is ridiculous.

Yeah knight is no J. Michael Straczynski who literally stole all the names for Babylon 5 from lord of the rings l

I think you have it backwards...as certain people in certain circles refer to Mr Soros by that name. Because of Saurons role in the Lord of the Rings.

So Cyberverse! It’s a solid show. The run time is something I know people still gripe but I’m pretty happy with being able to watch an entire season in under 3 hours lol

Guys, lets just drop this and get back to talking about the Cyberverse series. We will be having a season wrap up article soon, if anyone wants to contribute a quick paragraph about their thoughts on sewson 1, you can write it in this thread and let me know that it's ok to be used in the article.

It should mean we get a good price on the season sets... Mind you, if tradition persists, I'll have to look at importing the show as here in the UK we either get full seasons or we don't...i mean we never got Animated and I can't remember getting Prime season 3 and Predacons Rising either.

I still don’t even have RiD on any media but I’ll be honest. I didn’t like RID. I’ve tried to watch it. Several times but it’s up there with Victory as a show I cannot get into. I’ve honestly just skimmed through it and just watch the finales or episodes that I’ve looked up that sounded good. One series I don’t have but not separate to track down.

I was going to add my thoughts about the first season, then I saw all the off-topic bullshit and that's put me off.

Thanks guys. Imagine how many others feel that way.

@PerfectVision what post are you on about that dissappeared? Also I'm not sure what you are on about with the feminism thing?

The overpowered Windblade we talked about some time ago.I even remember a more recent scene where she take a big punch on her face and stand up like if nothing happened.

I don't see how my first paragraph make no sense.

That is reaching for flaws to pathetic heights especially if you’re trying throw feminism at it.
