We have a gorgeous reveal for you today with Transformers Cyberverse Deluxe Cheetor. While there can always be more paint, the sculpt matches the screen model with great precision. He even has the detail of his beast tail being wrapped around his waist in robot mode. These images, posted on Walmart's website, show that he comes with armour that brings many homages together. The blades are an homage to the Beast Machines Night Slash Cheetor toy, the beast battle mask are an homage to G1 Catilla (both in terms of the inner bot aesthetic and the feature of placing a battle mask on the beast shell) and for a stretch, the shoulder claws in beast mode are reminiscent of the Prime Thundertron design, whos Alpha Trizer repaint was also Cheetor.
So lots of fun wrapped in a nice little windowless package. You'll let us know what you think.

He was the main character and Guardian of the Allspark back in Season 2.Mistaken_Table wrote:*Hums the Beast Wars theme* Cool, another Cheetor, but this one may be a little...down-market for my collection. Though it is nice to see Cyberverse widen the quality gap between itself and the Autentics line.

It does look more fun than the Kingdom version. I am actually working on a top 5 cheetor list (will wait for this guy to come out first though) and I am actually finding out that there are a lot better cheetors out there than the kingdom one. I am actually wondering right now which is better, Kingdom Cheetor or the OG 96 one. Not sure.

I've bought Deluxe Bumblebee and Hot Rod from Ebay, they'll be arriving next month, and they'll be my first Cyberverse toys. For those who own these two, what am I in for?

EEEESH, you're gonna see the two ends of the spectrum. Bumblebee is, with no exageration, one of the best Deluxe Bee figures we have ever gotten.
Hot Rod is utter trash though. Someone fucked up with that figure, the poseability is really neutered due to lots of stuff getting in the way. It's the worst deluxe in that line.

Both bots are glorious and powerful robots, with a very retro look. I love it!
As for the vehicle, Meteorfire is very 1980's in his design and it's awesome! As for Iaconus, he turn into... a submisive bot? A something? He turn into a WHY-NOT!

Iaconus is supposed to be a Fort Max or Grandus Style stsrship, where being in space requires no aerodynamics, but the hand thrusters and the side ailerons are about the ony indication of which way is forward. They should have at least allowed thr legs to fold all the way over and maybe done some kind of molding on the calf to help it

20$can at Amazon for a short while. Now it's back to the usual 40$can. For 20$can, I couldn't say no for this silly thing. At that price I have my money's worth for some mindless fun, but I wouldn't have paid a single dollar more.
Meteorfire is damn awesome by the way. 20$can would have been the ideal price, but 22$can is better than nothing. I always kinda wanted it so my instincts said it was now or never.

Now Cheetor, that's one I'm getting for sure. I love those almost Beast Machines armor parts I passed on the previous Cheetor because I didn't like the armor, but I have been watching prices on eBay so hopefully when this one comes out the prices will drop there. I want both of them for my growing Cheetor collection, I just don't care about the battleship.
To me the armored head shares a lot more with the Titanium figure thanks to all that green on top and sides of the head.

.
Man I love that little hotrod. He’s one of my go to bots to idly transform. Sure he isn’t anywhere close to the best version of the character but when it comes to transforming and vrooming around (in a totally grownup fashion) he’s a winner in my book.

I'll have to keep an eye open in case I ever see it in store.

If you go for a Thunderhowl, got for the Ultra. Way superior to the deluxe, IMO.

I think we should leave that for the kids to decide.

Mine did. They went straight from Rescue Bots to Generations because they think Cyberverse toys are junk.

I for one love the Cyberverse show as a 36 year old. It felt more G1 than a lot of shows from recent memory. I enjoyed it soo much more than Earthrise and Siege and that was made for me.
I also like the Cyberverse toys enough to collect most of the line. I'm probably one of the small group of adult collectors who likes non-complex transformations. That's why I do have a lot of movie bots but am not enjoying them like Combiner Wars and up.
Can't wait for one of my kids to be old enough to notice and enjoy Transformers!
Posted by Mistaken_Table on July 28th, 2021 @ 2:07am CDT
Yeah, I can look at the Cyberverse line, judge it next to the other lines and give them a hard pass. They need to be simple for kids to work out/remember, have little-no accessories so there's less to lose/swallow and need to be the right ratio of being as durable as possible while being lightweight. I swear my '96 Optimus Primal could make short work of windows.
Right now we have Kingdom, generation selects, 2 separate studio series lines, masterpiece, R.E.D, and I'm probably missing some. Maybe we shouldn't be too upset at a toyline that features toys.
Posted by Sherlock Zero on July 28th, 2021 @ 2:49am CDT
Mind you that any kids I do have will not be introduced to Kiss Players. But I also expect them to not be a Rewind like I tend to be. Because it is more fun thinking about them having Optimus Primal be the protector of a Lego city. Or even have Black Zarak's deluxe Headmaster form go against Monkey D. Luffy since both look like pirates (and not because both have X-shaped scars on their chests).
Man... Now I also hope that Transformers (or something like it) will be around in the future.

Narrow sighted people who get off on hate and complaining.
I'm really, REALLY glad that Cyberverse and Rescue bots are a thing. Because not many toddlers or 5 years old can jump straight to Generations and have fun. The kids will make precious memories, then maybe move on to Generations as they get older. Then they enter the pre-teen years and they will think that "toys are for BABIES" and move away from the fandom. Then they become adults. Those Cyberverse/Rescue Bots memories will come back... And then, start collecting again but this time, Generations, MP, 3P, and so on.
I bet that's the story for many of us. Too bad so many forgot it.

If I was a kid now I would be into Transformers:Prime but definitely not Cyberverse. I would be collecting Generations & ignoring baby crap like Cyberverse or Bumblebee Adventures.

How old were they when they went from Rescue Bots to Generations? My 3 year old tried generations (like T30 Roadbuster) but found it too hard. So he went from Rescue Bots to Cyberverse. He really likes the quick conversion since he can replicate what he sees in either the G1 show/movie or the Cyberverse show and they are more show accurate than Rescue Bots (Rescue bots keeps messing with the alt modes).
noctorro wrote:I for one love the Cyberverse show as a 36 year old. It felt more G1 than a lot of shows from recent memory. I enjoyed it soo much more than Earthrise and Siege and that was made for me.
As do I. And yes, it feels very G1. It was very telling that the creators developped a show that took place before the autobots in the ark woke up and then did a time jump, skipping all the Autobots vs Decepticons on Earth stuff to get to the War on Cybertron. It's like they are having the G1 show serve as the adventures that happened during that time and don't rethread on it, which I find pretty cool.
And I really like Cyberverse's approach to integrating many different continuities within a unified G1 type story and cast. So you get Cheetor, Skybyte, Lockdown and even an homage to Tarn all in the same show, along with new characters.

I could understand if that was the ONLY toy line produced. But as you point out, the "adult" options far outweigh the kids ones.
So to me, the complainers are either oblivious people who miss the entire point, or they are really egotistical.

That show us a "kid show" so it's irrelevant.
Plus, the DELUXES exist. There is no excuse.

And the Deluxes are selective and limited in this character choices. Anyone who wants a normal figure of Shadow Striker with standard articulation is up the creek.

I can't say K. Cheetor is "mediocre" but there's room for improvement. Play-wise, Cyber Cheetor looks definitely better.

I have heard some crap from locals and to me it sounds the latter. Remember it is a clown world and everyone is butt-hurt about anything and everything.
I am just glad that it is 2021 and there are still Transformers products out for us to buy.
