Seibertron's own chuckdawg1999 has provided us with a review of the new One-Step Action Attackers Megatron figure - featuring the transformation, the figure's 'firing' gimmick and the range of limited articulation. The review also compares the figure to the previous One-Step Megatron, citing the (relatively minor) differences in packaging to make sure viewers don't get caught out and purchase the wrong toy. The video is embedded below for ease of viewing.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:In what can be considered the natural evolution of One Step changers, Action Attackers feature the same simplified transformations but with the bonus of a weapon feature. Megatron features a firing Fusion cannon naturally and a robot mode that is closer to the show model than the previous One Step Megatron release. Ultimately there's nothing I can say that will steer most collectors towards this line but if you're looking to try something fun and simple, you can't go wrong with this line.

Has this review sparked an interest in the One-Step toys or are they still a miss step? Let us know in the Cyberverse discussion here on Seibertron.com.

Thanks to Seibertron himself, we have the first sighting of the third wave of Transformers Cyberverse Action Attackers One Step Changers at US Retail! This wave consists of the previously reviewed Megatron, Optimus Prime, Prowl and Bumblebee. These differ from the previous releases as they follow on with the attack gimmick of the larger classes.

These were found at Target in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Hopefully this means Ultra Slipstream isn't too far behind.

Actually, my money situation isn't too great right now. May have to postpone that purchase. :-(

Thanks to a heads up from several Seibertronians, we have word that there is a new and seemingly revamped Cyberverse line coming to us this year! This new line, which seems to be dubbed the "Spark Armor" line, has a gimmick where you have a core character and then a secondary vehicle that then attaches to that character as armor, making a super mode of said character. Each figure is also notable in that the articulation seems to have drastically improved over other Cyberverse figures.

There are set to be 3 different size classes for these Spark Armor figures. The three classes include the $14.99 Battle Class of Jetfire, Prowl, Starscream, and right out of left field, Sky Byte(!!); the $24.99 Elite Class series, which includes Megatron, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime; and finally the $49.99 Ark Power Optimus Prime, which features a tiny reproduction of the Ark as armor for Optimus Prime. The news came from Kotaku.

Check out all the images below, and let us know what you think of these new figures below!

At first, I was like whoa, but now I'm curious about the sizes. The wave with Prowl and Jetfire seems to be Scout/Legends class like those RID armor figures.

I think everyone is gonna buy an Ark Prime just for the Ark. I really like these. Not enough to buy them but if I were younger, i would be all over these.

Also, some of the armors look like homages to stuff. For example, the jet armor on Prime reminds me of one of the G2 dudes.

Jetfire's armor is Armada Demolishor. Prowl has Triggerhappy, Megatron has Rotorstorm and (the smaller) Optimus is...uh...wearing the corpse of Leader-1?

I love the dichotomy between the alt modes of the bulks and the drones. Terranean with aerial/aquatic, subaquatic with subterranean, aerial with terranean.

Good looking figures with a decent, non-intrusive, fun gimmick. More like this please!

I just wonder how cross compatible those body armor parts are between size classes. They almost look like they're tailor made for the bots they go with. Some would probably have to be. If so, it would limit some of the fun with them sadly.

Bumblebee's battleship reminds me of the arms of the SDF-1.

More Sky Byte is always welcome.

I want to put the Ark armor on Rewind. Look it up.

I also feel like there's a Broadside waiting to be built using Prime and Bee's plane and ship drone parts. Bee has the arms and torso, Prime the head and legs? Curious if that's a doable thing with multiple sets.

We've got some more Transformers: Cyberverse fun coming at you, Seibertronians! Thanks to our old pal, Chuck, we've got a pair of nice video reviews of Transformers: Cyberverse 1-Step Changers Optimus Prime and Prowl! Chuck, a.k.a. chuckdawg1999, gives us an overview of Optimus Prime and Prowl in vehicle and robot modes, shows off their transformations, and demonstrates their new "Action Attack" features! Action attacks are being incorporated into the Cyberverse 1-Step Changer toys beginning with Wave 3, in which you can also find Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Hot Rod, and Megatron. As a bonus, Chuck also gives us a comparison with the previous 1-Step Changer Optimus Prime from Wave 2 and the new Warrior Class version of Prowl. Give these videos a watch below!

Optimus Prime

Prowl

Are you enjoying the very G1-inspired Transformers: Cyberverse series and toyline so far? Will you be picking up 1-Step Changer Optimus Prime or Prowl for your collection, or perhaps as a gift for a younger Transformers fan in your life? Let us know in the comments below, and keep tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news on all things Transformers!

I just love how there is no theming or commonality between most of those Spark Armor figures. We have a scout who converts into a sports car with a freakin' battleship, a warrior poet who turns into a shark with a drill tank thing, and an armada commander who transforms into a fighter jet with a construction vehicle. These closest matchup that I see with some common ground is Megatron (a tank) and his assault helicopter. Otherwise, these matchups seem completely random.

Even though I don’t collect these, and I don’t fall into the target demographic, it’s impossible for me to deny how cool and fun these look. Between these and siege, I love a lot of the decisions that Has/Tak is making. If I were a kid, or a teen, I’d be all over these the same way I was with Bionicle, when those came out. I love the idea that the armor upgrades transform into such cool looking vehicles, and various homages to other TF series.

Also that Skybyte is just adorable.

Wow, cyberverse figures that are nice. Jetfires drone may be the slammer to compiement scamper to finish metroplex off.

Liking the armor premise and even if it makes some look like SD Gundams thats only a good thing.

I non-ironically like it for that reason. It IS completely random and crazy, with the usual SCALE BE DAMNED of the Transformers universe. All of these are "why, because we can and don't give a f..." :APPLAUSE:

I'm looking forward the video reviews of these. To see if the quality hold up and what articulations they actually have.

If there is some cross-compatibility between the armours I'd expect it to be within the same size class. Even if limited, cross-compatibility is always good.

If you can cobble together a leg mode from Prime's armour, I'm all for a drone Broadside.

While I'll only plan on picking u SkyByte because it's frickin' SkyByte, I like how the Jet Power Optimus is somewhat an homage to his combination with Jetfire in RoTF. Also what is this? An entire wave of cyberverse toys that all look decent? I'm just happy the show is getting better products. SkyByte to me is till the only must have.

These things are really great looking! The only one I find a little questionable is Megatron, his tank mode is garbage, but all of the others look worth getting. Not so sure about Starscream with purple wing stripes.

ScottyP wrote:I also feel like there's a Broadside waiting to be built using Prime and Bee's plane and ship drone parts. Bee has the arms and torso, Prime the head and legs? Curious if that's a doable thing with multiple sets.

That would be neat, kinda like the Minicon armors from Prime. Megatron's armor looks like it could form the top of another bot. The larger Optimus looks like he could form a large portion of a bot with those big feet.

As for Bumblebee.

Joking aside, this is better looking than the last time Bumblebee had boat armor.

Now those are cyberverse figures that pique my interest. Also, it seems like the armor bits attach via 3.5 pegholes. If that is indeed the case, we might be able to use them to armor up siege figures.
