Looks like Peaugh got a headsculpt that isn't as sharp-looking as the one posted by Zomatron.

I always thought "Lio Convoy" was the Japanese version of Leo Prime, so isn't it pronounced Lee-Oh, not Lie-Oh?

I'm looking forward to mine arriving, whenever it does, be good to compare him in hand with Nova Prime

The Japanese pronounce it like we would pronounce "Lion", so it's "Lie-Oh". In fact, "Lio" as part of a name is quite common there.

The paint on my Lio Convoy's head seems to bleed over where it is supposed to be on the eyes so that one eye looks bigger than the other. It's a small thing, but when the main thing advertised about a figure is that it has a new head... the head needs to be well painted, and not look like poo.

honestly I think they're a bit hindered in that regard because they have to make their heads single piece sculpts. Most (though admittedly not all) transformers have two piece head sculpts, where the eyes are part of the back piece of the head. That way even if the eyes are painted, they're done separately from the face, so there's no possibility of bleedover. If hasbro did all their heads single piece they'd probably have the same issue on a good portion of each run

I got my Lio Convoy today and his headsculpt deco really pops! The vivid shade of blue is gorgeous, and the paint apps are near perfect with virtually no flaws to speak of. I must have been fortunate because this is definitely one of the better headsculpt decos we've seen for this figure. 8)

Got me Lio Convoy yesterday as well. He looks tight with great paint apps and a kickass looking head sculpt. This is the first figure I have of this mould and I have to say I was a bit let down when I opened the box and saw how small he is in alt mode. After transforming Lio though he turns into a badass looking, buff, tough little bot hehe. I'm ok with Beast Wars type characters being a little smaller since they suppose to be in the fiction. So glad Lio Convoy was the free one this time cause Nova just dont feel right in this mold, but Lio is awesome.

Thanks to fellow Seibertronians Bounti76 and Megatronus for letting us know that the first figure from Transformers Collectors' Club subscription service 3.0 has started to arrive in mailboxes. Even better they sent us pics of the newly arrived figure. Bounti76 has Nova Prime unboxing the figure while Chromia looks on. The images that Megatronus sent us gives us another look at the figure as well as the Kre-O pieces that make up G.B. Blackrock and a laser blaster that converts to a gaspump. Check your mailboxes to see if Carzap with G.B. Blackrock is waiting for you too.

Honestly? He wasn't on my most anticipated list for the TFSS, let alone my list of figures that I'd want to rave about, but in hand, I feel like he's the best use of this mold so far, and a great figure. No tampos or paint running into the unpaintable plastic and suddenly stopping, no thin paint discolored by the black plastic of the forearms, reserved paint apps that bring out the details without overwhelming, and they fixed the forearm 5mm slots so the weapon halves can peg in under them again. Only thing wrong with mine is the ball joints for the feet seem to still have mold release fluid on them, making them too slick. I'll fix that tomorrow.

That's good to hear, the ports under the arms on Nightbeat and JP Gold Bumblebee are useless for posing without the use of blu-tac, so this guy should be a bit nicer to pose.

Perfect for my Neo G2 collection.

Don't tell me the only instructions to build the gas pump are just two pictures?

I got Lio Convoy today but I'm selling it to my friend since he's more into it. Not even opening the box, although I probably should now that I'm thinking about it. Really more into Nova Prime.

I think I'll be more into Lio. I've been liking the Beast Wars inspired figures, and the mold works for Nova Prime, but it's not perfect. Plus, the cat face on Lio in alt-mode is adorable.

There are not. There is just a picture of the final product fully built to draw reference from when building it. But, they later put full building instructions on YouTube:

Regardless of including instructions or not, the final build is not a very stable one. I had to ignore part of the official configuration in order to make the final build a more solid piece, at the cost of having Blackrock's control console for the cannon mode stick out further away from where Blackrock stands, but he can still reach it.

Growing up with more Lego than I ever should have had made that thing an easy build. Now I haven't had new Lego for over a decade, but that Kreo kit just feels so much cheaper than the Lego i do have - is this a normal thing?

I am not sure where I saw this, I think it was on Facebook somewhere. For those who want to make their Nova Prime a bit more different than Lio Convoy, you can take those arm bits off and make little wing bits. I am using my Lio Convoy to show this because I don't have Nova Prime at this time. You just detach the arm bits and put them on the opposite shoulder kinda wedging them on wheel hinge. They stay on surprisingly well.

Singaporean fansite Planet Iacon has uploaded in-hand images of Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription Service Tarantulas & Serpent O.R.! The demented spider is based off the Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar mold, and more specifically the E-hobby retool Scrapheap which has only been released stateside once before as the Shattered Glass Botcon Exclusive Scrap Iron. Tarantulas is sporting his original (pre-Transmetal) deco primarily purple with yellow/green accents, but homages the Transmetal version with his two wheeled bike mode. Serpent O.R. is a repaint of Takara Generations TG-20 Ratbat (originally Generations Scourge) and is based on G.I Joe's Cobra Emperor Serpentor making him a rare dual franchise figure! Tarantulas looks awesome!

Not sure about Serpent O.R., though... The in-hand pics make him out to be much brighter and less metallic than expected. At least there seems to be no risk of GPS.

I know that it would seem redundant seeing that Gens Senator Ratbat had the metallic plastic/paint, but Serpent, Oregon really need metallic pant, at least on the gold bits. It really looks like a horrible yellow, like armada hotshot/hulk hogan levels of yellow.

Pretty clever giving Serpent O.R. that alt mode. Looks almost like the air chariot the 80s G.I.Joe figure was packaged with the first time around.

So, the same year Serpent O.R. is in the FSS, Hasbro releases Viper. I wonder if they were meant to go together, because this is a hell of a coincidence otherwise.

Nemesis Primal wrote:So, the same year Serpent O.R. is in the FSS, Hasbro releases Viper. I wonder if they were meant to go together, because this is a hell of a coincidence otherwise.
I could see it being a coincidence since the Club might have seen the Ratbat head and got the idea of Serpent O.R. first, with the main Hasbro brand team doing Viper independently since team member John Warden was the lead designer on the G.I. Joe brand team from 2006 to 2013.

If not for the brand team having the former Joe lead designer in it, I too would be more inclined to consider it more than coincidental, but his being there helps open the possibility of the Club and the brand team coincidentally doing their own separate Joe-based homages.

Tarantulas isn't too bad, but Serpent O.R. looks like a knockoff compared to the one in images (or Ratbat with the great gold paint). It looks like they wanted to make the orange gold going by the fingers and the little trapezoid on the top of his alt mode. Lime green is rather offputting, too. Shame, that was the one I thought would be most interesting of the sub. Maybe it's better under proper lighting, I'll reserve judgment for the Seibertron gallery.

Yeah the amount of GI Joe being shoved down transformer fans throats by both the club and hasbro is starting to get disturbing. I can see the club slapping a Joe in a wheelchair and calling him Chip Chase. Then theyll gloat how the wheelchair is an original mold like they did with the ape shell.

And people would still buy it.

By the way, no G.I. Joe, no Transformers. G.I. Joe lead to Henshin Cyborg and Microman, which lead to Diaclone, which in turn lead to The Transformers.

A lot of these Fake-lego brands are known for being very cheap, in price and in quality. I once bought some stuff from Megabloks. Some sort of technic-action figure that turned into a ball and could launch a rotor. I actually threw them out because they smelled horribly, and the quality was atrocious.

I wouldn't call them "fake" per se, since the basic building block design patent is now Public Domain. Kre-O can feel cheap and some clips and ball joints can be loose, but overall, nothing dramatically wrong with the blocks themselves.

There's only three I can think of: Viper, Serpentor, and Marissa. I don't count the SDCC Joe stuff and those are more for the the Joe fans, while the former are more for us.

It's probably the use of G.I. Joe figures on some releases:

- B.A.T.S. with Old Snake
- Marissa with Afterbreaker
- Rodimus & Arcee synthoids

People have different likes and dislikes, the fandom as a whole is not a single entity. I'm sure the same people begging for this aren't the ones complaining.
