Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee NEST Ratchet Found in US

Thanks to JTPrime17, we have some really fun news to share in the form of two new Legacy listings. Both are exclusive figures. One is Tow-Line, which will be in the Target exclusive Buzzworthy Bumblebee line (and which ever exclusive retailer has those in your country). Hasbro had hinted at redecos of the new Junkions, and this could very well be the first one we see with this probably being a redeco of Scraphook.

We also know we have a Toxitron coming. It is unclear which retailer he will be exclusive to. We have at least 2 capsules (that means a set of retailer exclusive figures that share a theme, like the WrecknRule or Velocitron sublines) this year and we know one will have G2 Grimlock as leader and this other set will have none other than Toxitron as the leader. That would be a redeco of the Legacy G2 Optimus Prime.

Toxitron? TOXITRON? YES!!! I have the animated and collectors club figures, so I'm hyped for this new one!

I had a very strong feeling they'd do Toxitron, seems like I was right.
I was on the fence about getting Scourge, but I am interested on seeing how this Toxitron figure looks so I could get that instead. No hate towards Scourge of course, I just find Toxitron's colour scheme more interesting than the usual "evil doppelgänger" colour scheme.

ZOINKS! Like, I never realized how much Wreckerhook/Towline's color scheme makes him look like the Mystery Machine! It's making me regret passing on the RID version in 2001 because I already had all the Machine Wars flipchanger molds. Will that be enough to get me to buy a repainted Hoist or Scraphook? Maybe.

And was he the only character who got an international name change, but made a habit of yelling his original Japanese name in the English dub? An amusing distinction.

...based off the capsule listings we already had that were just missing names as well as what JTPrime has said, there is one capsule coming that contains both G2 Grim and Toxitron, and it probably is going to Walmart since that's where the named G2 Grim listing came from. All the initial listings for this capsule just said things like "LDR CAPSULE 1" instead of character names, but the product numbers match between those vague initial listings and these newer named ones for both Leaders now.

Full lineup as we know it thus far:
-1 Deluxe repack
-4 Deluxes
-A code that is presumably just for the Deluxe assortment, since the product number is drastically removed from the other Deluxes (F7145 vs F7510-F7515), but could also be yet another Deluxe (for a total of 6 in the wave, like Velocitron Wave 1)

-G2 Grimlock (which G2 deco is unconfirmed)
-Toxitron

...my biggest takeaway from this is just that my Jungle Planet/Eukaris theory is out the window, since Toxitron is now in the spot I was predicting would be Cryotek.

Regardless, I will be waiting to actually see both of these guys before making any decisions.

Not necessarily. Velocitron had Scourge in it, who was not exactly a fast character.

A Eukaris/Jungle Planet subline could have an eco-warfare subtheme, which pits beasts (e.g., Grimlock) against pollution-themed characters (e.g., Toxitron).

Tow-line might be tweaked to be a recycling truck? Or could be unrelated to Machine Wars? Honestly, the best use of that name would be for a RotB Wheeljack retool.

You just made me want a Transformers x Scooby Doo figure re-doing ROTB Wheeljack as the Mystery Machine

To me it would have been weird if they stuck both Cryotek and G2 Grimlock in the same wave, both being big, blue Leader class beast bots. I still think Cryotek is going to Target like the original.

As for the new stuff, yeah, I want them both. Curious how they'll label Toxitron. RID 2001? Universe? G2 (along side Grimlock)?? There's at least one more Universe redeco coming in the future (Razorclaw from the leaked Tigerhawk has to happen) so maybe Toxitron can be the first from the Universe Universe.

I'd rather Towline wasn't a Junkion repaint, but that's probably the only option there is. I hope they do some of the Machine Wars colors as well if they're going this rout. But would they do Robotmasters?

I'm waiting for Cryotek and TowLine but I'll have to skip Toxitron. That's a lot of Leaders outside the mainline(s), but I'm happy everybody who wants him is getting their Toxitron. I may get him on a review and return type deal...we'll see.

So...since y'all don't have Target in Canada, is Buzzworthy sold at TRU? I've surprisingly seen the DotM SS Leader Optimus a few times. I guess Hasbro called that one right because for a big expensive Leader it seems to be selling well. They move quickly. I have no attachment to Toxitron or Towline. I got the CW Toxitron Because it was a Combiner. I won't need the new one. I may get Towline if it is a Junkion repaint because the new Junkion Weaponizers are a fun play pattern.

Finally a PROPER Toxitron! TFA and CW were good, but he should have a tanker.

I'll have to keep an eye out for NEST Ratchet! Looking forward to completing the current NEST set

Why is everyone so sure that it's going to be RiD 2001 Tow-Line/Wrecker Hook and not Energon Tow-Line? It's just as likely since there's no universe descriptor in the listing. Or was there something left out of the leak when being reported about on two different websites that states which version of Tow-Line it would be?

I mean, there's a perfectly "good" Earthrise Ironhide mold that would work pretty well for Energon Tow-Line. It would work better than Scraphook or even Hoist would for Wrecker Hook in any event. Sure Hasbro has indeed hinted at reuses of the new deluxe Junkions but this doesn't have to be it.

I just find it odd that with two bots called Tow-Line that one seems to be forgotten about entirely in this conversation. Sure Energon Tow-Line wasn't in the cartoon so I can see how he's overlooked somewhat. However it's not like Wrecker Hook was a main character in RiD. He was in like what, six episodes or so as a comedy supporting and/or background team member?


I'm looking forward to Toxitron. Not so much for paying for another trailer I don't want though. At least the G2 trailer is better than the G1 trailer.

It's not just the amount of episodes he was in that counts, but how memorable he was in those episodes. If you ask anyone who watched the show which character towed most of the Autobots, including Team Bullet Train to the impound lot, they'll more than likely say Tow-Line or be able to pick him out of the lineup.

I had that thought about the blue, but that's also assuming that G2 Grim is going to use the blue deco. I think the current design team are absolutely the types to potentially pull out the cancelled tiger stripes, which would have removed or at least mitigated that weirdness.

Also in regards to the labeling thing: they didn't label Nightprowler at all, and he was basically the exact same circumstances as Toxitron, so it may just say Toxitron with no universe specification.

Because 4 different people who get insider info and/or see figures early all say it's RiD Tow-Line made from Scraphook with a new head, including the person who provided the store listings.

I can see the how junkion repaint would work for the R.I.D. version however.

While everything says "Yes it's going to be RID Tow-Line" along with us getting a brand new tow-truck mold perfect for him, I do wonder if they'd also give us Energon Tow-Line out of the SS86 Ironhide mold. It'd obviously be missing his battle sled but I could see it being a simple head swap at best. Plus it'd go full circle with the original Energon T-L being used to make Ironhide/Ratchet, heh!

Energon Tow-Line is not just an homage to the Ironhide concept: he has a dash of Skids in there too with the deco and head:

I was referencing the ol' Botcon exclusive toys way back in '05 where T-L was retooled into Ironhide/Ratchet, heheh.
I would love to see them make a new mold accessory, though. Heck, Slicer got two new guns referencing his old Botcon toy too!

I am intrigued by the Towline listing.

Toxitron is cool, but I really wish the laser prime mold was better, i would be more excited then.

Definitely thinking Energon Towline now considering we have three recent figures that turn into vans (Earthrise Ironhide, Studio Series Ironhide, ROTB Wheeljack).

What's with the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine colors? Should have just gone ahead with the van and made it a crossover.

Thanks for the info. Yeah it makes a lot of sense for them to all be in the same capsule then.

I'm hoping for Junkion redecoes, though I don't know if Towline going to Target makes that more or less likely. The designs have such strong theming that they could really hold a capsule together, even if they don't maintain the Junkion characterization. I was hoping for redecoes in the muted browns and oranges, but the more pics I see of the original Towline and Toxitron figures, the more I think that garish neon colors would work.

I'm a little surprised we haven't heard of any more G2 Stunticon repaints. After Shadowstrip I really thought we'd see leaks for more of these spread out between different stores (like in Buzzworthy Bumblebee). Or maybe we have and just didn't realize it thanks to the new names.

I always thought that was more likely as a one-off. The odds of a G2 Motormaster have to be very low, and there's limited benefit from doing any others if they're not going to complete Menasor, right?

Only one of the Commander class figures has ever received a redeco so far, so even if "very low" is too hostile, the odds were never great. We've already had complaints about the difficulty in assembling a Combiner across mainline releases; I can't imagine the frustration in trying to collect G2 Menasor across retailer-exclusive capsules. Maybe there could be a gift set in the future, but I don't think it's very likely.

Not only is that set out for months, it's been ridiculously overpriced. You're basically getting 3 deluxes for the low low price of 4.

With Motormaster's trailer making him pretty much impossible to retool into another character, it seems like a decent option.

On the contrary, I think this style of Motormaster, with some retooling, could actually make a pretty good Thunderclash.

Oh I agree that spreading them across different retailers would be a bad idea, but hasbro doesn't really care about ease of access as long as they can say they did it. This is the same Hasbro that made three Titans Return Brainstorms all exclusives, made you go to three different retailers to get all four clones and made people jump through all sorts of hoops to get a decent set of Seekers twice.

In robot mode they definitely seem horrible, but I do like the G2 Stunticons in vehicle mode. They do pop to me, but I don't buy Transformers to leave them in alt-mode unless I duplicate them. I'm not buying two (4) sets of Stunticons. LOL

I loved the 90s. Best years of my life, especially the 2nd half. Ironically, it was the only time in life I wasn't into Transformers actively.

Anyway, I thought from the moment Legacy Dragstrip was unveiled that a G2 set was a given. Especially after Shadowstrip was also released.

Honestly I think that the G2 Stunticons are the least gaudy of the G2 recolors. Granted, I also like a lot of the G2 recolors
