Those triple packs look cool. I like the little companion beast figures.
Also, does it look like Wheeljack's arsenal pieces might snap together to make a shark?

so let me get this straight. Hasbro's response to the poor sales of Construct bots, is to repack the figures that are still shelfwarming after christmas with new weapons?

Unicron Megatron is the only Construct-Bot toy I want, since an actual TF: Prime toy of him seems unlikely at this point.

Ratbat and Barrage are pretty cool looking, though I wish they didn't come with something I have no interest in.
I don't get the point of re-releasing the same figures just with added weapons. Even if Wheeljack's new parts do turn into shark(s) (which would be pretty awesome).

There's that sorry excuse for a Prime Unicron Megatron again.
Beast Hunters ruined the Prime toyline

I like Barrage and Wolfang. Another missed opportunity; they should have been selling those little guys for $4.99 on their own.

Starscream's the only one that looks even halfway close to being a guy that plays for Arsenal.

Hmm ... wheeljack's extra and recolored parts look like they're intended for a depthcharge build- maybe using parts from soundwave? And soundwave's recolored parts seem intended for a g1 predacon?

Well, the beauty of Construct Bots is that if you end up double-dipping, you can just keep swapping parts around until you find something you do like. The only reason I ever started with them was for G2 Cybertronian army-building, but when I got Soundwave, he ended up being so awesome I couldn't repurpose his bits onto anyone else, because he was such a nice blend of elements from so many past 'cons: On top of his G1 and Cybertron self, there are distinct parts of his smaller Animated incarnation that never got a toy. And mixed in with wings and shoulders from Energon Megatron/Thunderwing are shades of Triggerhappy! An homage to my favorite 'con Targetmaster with extra weapons? Can't complain about that.
I intended to buy more Starscreams from the start, but the new one has too much red for my purposes, and the weapons the old one's getting look...silly. I'm actually disappointed that they went out of their way to make CB Thundercracker a repaint of everyone except Staracream, because I'd like to see him in every color until they get to Acid Storm...which they'd likely save for last because of his Masterpiece toy.
Oh well, I need more green genocidal ground forces than jets anyway, so if anyone really wants to get rid of their Bulkhead once they've got his anipals, I'll gladly take him off your hands!
Of course, I've only ever bought Construct-Bots on sale. They're nice, but not quite full-price nice.

I didn't notice Soundwave and Wheeljack had differently colored heads in the little bubbles. Huh. Why doesn't any other pic of them reflect that?

Oh yeah, that is strange.
A little blue on Wheeljack at least makes sense, but a red helmet on Soundwave? Any precedent for that besides the Return to Cybertron sticker book, where some of his body parts were randomly Optimus-ish?

Oh also, those extra parts for the first wave have been up on the Construct-Bots app thing for a few months, so I assumed they would be getting released. The app is free if anyone wants to look at the parts in detail. Each character is based on an animal of some sort, so Wheeljack has shark parts, Bumblebee has wasp parts, and Starscream and Soundwave have dragon like parts. All the new torso's look really good, but the rest is so-so

i just recently bought the original Starscream one and its pretty neat. i'm looking to build a Starscream collection so i have no plans on getting other contruct-bots but i did enjoy this one. it was fun to put together. my only complaint is that they have his wings attached to the arms so if you move those forward...the wings move then move back. the wings should have been attached to his back somehow.
oh and mine wasn't finished....the head was only half painted black, the rest was the unpainted plastic grey. so with the help of my trusty sharpie, you can't even tell anymore.

The entire production run of Starscreams' heads seems to have ended up like that, so you didn't sharpie a rare variant or anything; these guys were made for customizin' anyway. I'll be getting his arsenal rerelease in part to see if they fixed that paint app.
The wing-forearm thing bugged me too, but even with parts-forming, I could never find a good way to get them on his back. Maybe a little cheating by using the vulcan guns as connectors?

As BW Megatron said, new packaging, same old product (for 57% of what's listed!).

I used the extra connector pieces that came in the Optimus & Megatron 2 pack. I connected his wings to one end and connected the other side to his shoulders. It looks good in both modes and there's no parts-forming.

I'm hoping since Hasbro is reusing the names Airazor and Wolfang that we'll eventually get a new BW Generations figure of those two like Rhinox, Waspinator, and Rattrap. Airazor, especially, could use an updated figure with a more feminine profile. And Wolfang was always a favourite of mine. I'd love to see what they could do with him.

Just his head? Hopefully Soundwave's whole deco will be changed up. Having his head in red like that makes me think of Machine Wars Soundwave (enough this that was red mouthplate-on-black).

Honestly, I love the Construct-bots, and have been spending far more money on them than other TF stuff since they came out. Though some pieces have gotten repurposed for upgrading non-buildable TFs (e.g., Goldfire), I love that I've been able to build a Voyager-Sized Not-Galvatron, a beefy war-machine esque Iron-hide, and a an almost-halo-Warthog-Hound. I'm okay with re-releases, given that I've already gotten duplicates of Iron-Hide and Starscream. Now I know not to buy another Wheeljack and Soundwave yet. Can't wait for most of these sets.
As to Soundwave's red head, I thought G1 Predacon, but now I think it's probably based on:

On the front of the packages where it shows the extra accessories, it looks like there are chest and back pieces that are different colors.

For a hopeful moment, I thought these "Arsenal Packs" were the differently-colored armor packs I have longed hoped for. Words cannot describe the amount of disappointment I experienced when I found they were repackagings of previous figures with extra pieces.
