Is it sad or happy that this is the best/coolest looking Grimlock to be released? The movie line can't even compare to this.

It's always happy if there is something you like. But I do not see what anyone else sees in this toy, those dino feet look so huge on the robot mode. So let me know how this is better than the actual Grimlock AoE figures

This is by no means a desirable toy to me. I am just making a sarcastic comment because the movie leader and voyager class Grimlock both look horrible in Dino mode. Despite the big clown hands and feet catered to kids, this Grimlock is well proportioned and has the best looking Dino mode compared to the other two IMO.

Is it just me, or are the Construct-Bots turning out to be the best part of the AOE line?
Posted by william-james88 on May 5th, 2014 @ 2:21pm CDT
I just realized that the evolve deluxe AOE figures might not be the same as the generations deluxe figures.
Here is deluxe evolve
And here is deluxe genertions
But are these simply redecos or more extensive retools?
I ask because unless he is mistransformed, generations Strafedoes not seem to transform at all from his alt mode to his robot mode:
Maybe this is old news, but I wanted to know if you guys also caught that and if we know if this robot does transform and if so in how many steps (I cant find a picture of the back of the box anywhere)
Edit:
After further scrutiny on my part, it looks like its the same figure. Actually, every generations figure on the hasbro page I linked below is the same as the ones we have seen but they look more like crap since they arent promotional pictures. This kind of saddens me. Dirge and Slash get hit particularly hard by these new pics and take away a lot of their cool factor I thought they once had. At least it gives us a better idea of what they will look like once we open them. http://www.hasbro.com/en_CA/shop/browse ... l&items=50

ScottyP wrote:^ The fourth picture in your post, in robot mode, is mistransformed. Look at the box art on the in package generations release and you'll see that they've mistransformed the legs and done nothing to fold away the dino heads.
so that means that the robot head kibble seen in the alt mode will remain there?

Actually it has to do few things at toysrus and other retail store I work at retail store and every frozen toy always gets sold out we can't keep them on self, depends how early you get there, how many cases they have on truck to show up on shipment, and how popular they sell with kids right now frozen is popular with girls at toysrus toys not movie, and I forgot to mention some people buy some there collectors, sell on ebay, birthday partys, unlike Walmart with some people get there's early toys rus obeys rules Walmart care less Walmart could or already could have got fined for selling there transformer age of extiction figures before release date suppose to be out on box as stated

$15 for a deluxe. $25 for a voyager. This should be no load on your wallet if you are accustom to any other form of HIGHWAY ROBBERY.

What about my photographic evidence from a couple pages back?
I'm mostly kidding since trying to pay for the ones pictured in mine actually got the product pulled from the shelves...

My picture of the deluxes posted in this forum is not faked!! This was taken on Saturday May 3rd, 2014 at a very very old Toys R Us located in East Moline, Illinois. There was one box of AOE deluxes and one box of Dino Sparkers on the pegs. There was an excess of everything else in the store. You have to remember this is the midwest and we get the leftover crap from either coast most of the time. I'm sorry to say there are fewer Transformer enthusiasts in my area as well. I see a lot of Hotwheels guys and Mcfarlane guys, but only a couple of real Transformer Fans. This store is so outdated that the front has not been changed. The front still looks like Toys R Us when I was 8 years old and I'm 33 now. The Dino Sparkers were $9.99 and the Deluxes were $14.99. Here is a portion of the email I sent to El Duque this morning about how I was unable to purchase them thanks to a manager doing his job!
"Morning,
Sorry for late reply. I jumped the gun with email. I was in the process of checking out and cashier had just put in price manually when manager walked by. I wasn't able to get figures and they were pulled out of aisle. This was the Toys R Us in East Moline, Illinois. The deluxes would have been $14.99 each. Man are they tiny! I'll just have to wait for launch..."

I might get the Beast Era characters just so I can say I own at least one version of those molds. I've no need for Grim/Cruellock, since I already own the original.
Posted by Sabrblade on May 6th, 2014 @ 1:49pm CDT
Give me those BW redecos and maybe the Energon Cruellock redeco! NOW!!!
Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on May 6th, 2014 @ 1:50pm CDT
Bumblebee with Dinobot Strafe: RotF Legends Bumblebee and BW Terrorsaur.
Decepticon Stinger with Dinobot Slug: RotF Legends Sideways and BWNeo Guiledart
Optimus Prime with Grimlock: RotF Legends Optimus Prime and Energon Cruel-Lock
Legion Grimlock: Prime Beast Hunters Predacon Rippersnapper (again?)
Dinobot Strafe with Bumblebee and Decepticon Stinger: AoE Dinobot Strafe, RotF Legion Bumblebee and Prime Legion Knockout.
Good grief, so random... Definitely aiming for the first four sets.
*EDIT* I can't keep those Legion molds apart...

Geniosity, right here. I'd totally be down for a reuse of the Dinobot mold as a separate character, since I already have the Universe (2008) mold.
I'm surprised there aren't any complaints of these being "cheeky, lazy redecoes with jacked up prices". >:oP

Getting Terrosaur and Grimlock, since I don't have them. I already have Triceradon, but I may get this version but he looks too purple for me.

Though Grimlock out of Rippersnapper makes me sad Divebomb never got released here...
Posted by craggy on May 6th, 2014 @ 2:25pm CDT
Also a little sad they didn't just give us Killer Punch, but I'm still up for more Purplesaur actions.
This version of the Terrorsaur mold is Thundersaur, which makes Lazorbeak into Terrorwarp, right? Dino Seekers, baby!

More Christmas closeout fodder.
I will say this, however, it is good for anyone who collected these lines in the past. They can get some new figures for their collections. But no one is going to use them as actual AOE figures. I personally have all of the Prime Cyberverse stuff, so I will pick up "Grimlock" Rippersnapper for my collection just cause. If not for that I wouldn't give them a second glance at retail.
This is actually a benefit of shoehorning old molds in movie years. They did it with ROTF and appear to be going back to it with these. At least I will pick up one AOE figure.
