Now, please show the robot mode and let's hope for at least a voyager toy.

I would have preferred it as a Jeep as well. In fact, any type of Jeep would have been fine.
But as I usually say, different continuities, different whatevers.

Someone said that this mode would have suited Bulkhead better. Also, Hound was usually a subtle guy, with his hollogram gimmick and whatnot. Still, I'm looking forward to see how this character will turn out in the movie verse.
Also, this is a great vehicle mode. I'm looking forward for a robot mode.
I also hope for a good toy to go with it.

Bay himself has said on numerous occasions that the movies are made with kids in mind. That suggests to me that he has a weird idea of what's appropriate for kids and what isn't, but that's beside the point.

Because the movies cater to an audience that likes to see dogs humping other dogs, or "Wheelie" humping a female human's leg?
This is a great alt mode for good ole Bulkhead, and if indeed he was originally created to appeal to younger kids watching cartoons, the live action movies don't necessarily hold characters to their cartoon form.
At least this is another example of having a new character in the Bayverse.

I agree: his idea of "for the kids" is definitely twisted.

How so? Violence in cartoons was considered appropriate for kids in the 90s. Why should it be any different?

Exhibit A) Sexual innuendo taken too far (Alice, Wheelie, and one of the first scenes of Dark of the Moon are prime examples).
Exhibit B) Language, to the point where even the ever famous explicative (you know, the "F" one) was uttered by Mikaela when Sam was "killed" in Revenge of the Fallen.

It'd blow my mind if they presented the TFs as actual characters in the next movie with actual character development. Not hopefuly about that, but I'll enjoy it nonetheless.
As far as the toys are concerned, make him leader class for scale purposes or I'm not interested.

I dunno; it would seem more in scale with the others if he were a Voyager.

EDIT: Also, they may pull that name changing BS like they did with Wheeljack/Que. This could just as easily be bulkhead or someone else a few months from now.

In the movie itself, I mean. The toyline has had quite a few military Bots: Whirl, Powerglide, Guzzle, Breakaway, Springer, Depthcharge, Skyhammer, Air Raid, Flak...
Incidentally, the Landmine mold is one of my favorites from the Movie lines.

Outside the film, there's plenty of them. But in the films themselves, yep, just Jetfire.

I'm too lazy to try and dig it up, sorry. But I remember reading it in an interview or statement he made regarding either this fourth movie, or the ride, and it was published on Seibertron. It was an offhand remark, not "HEY EVERYBODY I'M MAKING A MOVIE FOR KIDS", but it was there.

According to the TF1 DVD commentaries, he wasn't really sure what to market the movie as. But during a test viewing, he had a talk with a guy who said it wasn't his cup of tea. Bay then decided, "Okay, I'll make this for kids, then."
Or something like that.
As for the fan service, he was on record in the ROTF DVD commentaries, saying that he met this bunch of kids at a convenience store who, when he asked what they liked about the TF movie, said it was Megan Fox. He expected them to name one of the robots, but they all chose Fox. And it that's what the audience wants, it's what they'll get.

So essentially, part of the outcome of ROTF was some brats' fault. ANOTHER ONE OF MY CONSPIRACY THEORIES WAS TRUE!! Professor Slashercon, you have done it again. (Seriously though, who would've thought Bay had a soft spot for the "wants" of kids. Then again, They are fans of a movie he made.)

Trying to make it look like Bay isn't an intelligent individual is rather childish of you. A multi-billion dollar earning director isn't an idiot. And secondly, in regards to the bolded statement, fans of a specific franchise are the last people you want making a film or giving suggestions. Fans of a genre definitely (like Del Toro and Pacific Rim), but fans of a specific series? Never.
Examples of films made by fanboys:
The Last Airbender
Dungeons and Dragons
Battlefield Earth
Godzilla '98
Now find the movie out of that list that isn't objectively terrible.

People don't like the new BB vehicle mode? Why not? This is way better than the crappy current day muscle cars, all bloated and bland. When looks are concerned, BB looks awesome as an old Camaro... Plus he's a transformer, he can probably go faster than any Camaro actually can

What a difference 6-7 years makes. Its a cool vehicle. Looking forward to seeing the robot mode. Hopefully some concept designs start to leak in the next few months.

Wow, the day came that I agree with you on something. To be completely honest when I was watching the first film and Megan Fox called Bee's alt mode a "piece of crap Camaro" I just about yelled at the screen. What car nut in their right mind would not like a classic camaro, especially one that's full of highly customizable alien ultratech.

Let's not get our hopes up, because this is definitely going to happen. Glad to see I wasn't the only one to see similarities to the M.A.S.K. truck. Hasbro is never going to give up the chance to do a simple remold, why would they?
Posted by NovaSentinel on June 1st, 2013 @ 8:46am CDT
In terms of character, I think he will end up being a generic tough guy, probably a bit bulkier than Ironhide, but not as articulate.
And while Bumblebee's new alt mode isn't a downgrade as such, it does seem a rather odd choice considering that he has been the newest Camaro model around for each of the other films (except the 70s one)
Now for the names of the others! And more vehicles, I wanna see that ambulance...
