Iguanus is part of the Legacy Wave 1 assortment, and will see release alongside Skywarp and Hot Rod. These figures are due to be released at retail at any time, so keep a close eye out for them to start hitting shelves soon.
Check out the new images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

The vehicle is completely daff, but the bot looks bad-ass.
I wonder if the core figure would fit in the G1 pretender shell?

Pretenception
Why am I kidding myself, I know I'm gonna get them just for the sword pieces. And to support the creation of Finback and Bugly.

Iguanus.
Always felt like there was something not very Transformer-y about that name (though it fits the Beast Wars naming scheme well). He had the working name of Snakeskin which works on a few levels being a Pretender. Then again he had a wave mate named Bugly so maybe they were taking a break from cool names for a little while.
According to his bio on TFWiki he really loves his Pretender shell and started taking a huge interest in lizards after becoming a pretender. You could think of this as a post-Pretender version of the character that loved his shell so much he modified his own body to look more like it.

I've also done a little video review of Iguanus on YouTube if anyone fancies checking it out.

Yesssss!. Can't wait for Blitzwing!.
I'm in sore need of a replacement since my T-30 version has started falling apart.
The Rubber parts seem to be drying out and breaking off. The Entire head fell off. I think it was a bad idea to leave him in Jet mode for so long.

He admitted it was a nitpick.

It's the shoulders, not the arms. It's that the shoulders have been changed from being working shoulders part of the arms into armor kibble now separate from the arms, no longer a part of them, which alters the character's iconic silhouette and restricts arm movement now that big shoulder pads are in way of letting his arms raise up, instead of those shoulder pads being the shoulders themselves.Emerje wrote:Isn't saying the arms are fixed in place because you have to move little panels out of the way to move them the same as saying a lot of figures have fixed legs because you have to move a skirt panel and still can't quite get them to sit? Ah, the bane of soft rubber plastic. The only reason I'm even considering replacing my Car Robots Optimus Prime, because aside from the wheels the toy is great (also I lost that little pistol of his and a bunch of missiles, so...).
On another note, not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but apparently the QR codes for the first wave are now active, and they show short bios with limited animation (TFW2005 has links for most except Hot Rod). Most of them are kinda fine, but Iguanus:

Way to rub salt in the wound for those who wanted a modernized Pretender shell, Hasbro!

Given the exact quote is "2 massive energon hands" (emphasis added), I don't think they're the figure's actual hands, but his Energon Weapon for the line-wide gimmick: basically a pair of Energon Hulk hands, like people like to do for CW Rook and his combiner hand.
Or I could be wrong and he's referring to the figure's actual massive hands.

The way he described them as "massive" makes me think they might be big "Hulk hands" style gloves that attach to his real hands.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Energon Hands? The damn hands that are supposed to hold the weapons are clear plastic? WTH Hasbro

This is exactly what was rumored by leakers before now, yes, Blitzwing comes with big Hulk hand gloves that also function as missile pods for tank mode. This is just the first it's been confirmed that they're his Energon weapons.Sabrblade wrote:The way he described them as "massive" makes me think they might be big "Hulk hands" style gloves that attach to his real hands.

But that's just it, it's shoulder armor, not his actual shoulders. He has articulation at the shoulder, it's just a little restricted by the armor. The shoulder armor is fixed, his shoulders aren't, they're restricted to probably 180 degrees which is fine. Doesn't really bother me much, my Transformers don't spend a lot of time trying to ask the teacher a question or flying like Superman.

I'm just hoping that his appearance is so good that it's easy to over look.
Very anxious to see him now!

They're articulated, they're just restricted from pointing up by parts on top of his shoulders, probably similar to the original.

It's a Prime, so it'd sell well, plus it's a version of the character that fans like, and hasn't gotten a full bells and whistles update. TR and Legends were close, but were missing the cab bot and it sounds like Motormaster's gonna be close to hitting a similar transformation. Plus, people loved Weaponizers, so why not bring the original Weaponizer, Godbomber back?
Because the upcoming commander is Motormaster, maybe next year would be another combiner team? Like maybe the Protectobots? I sincerely hope for Ginrai too But I'd rather prefer for them to not skimp anything and go with a full TITAN price-point boxset. Having the Ginrai powermaster, the main transtrector, the trailer, and a leader sized Godbomber so that the fully combined mode would be big like Jetfire, but MASSIVE and BEEFY with no hollow parts.
So why not have next year's Commander be Deathsaurus for HASLAB Starsaber to have his rival?

Just realized I forgot to say that I was meaning for Godbomber to be a separate Leader class release with just Prime being the Commander But my issue with Deathsaurus being a Commander is just that I think it'd work better if he was a Leader class figure like Grimlock because that looks like it'd be about the right size relative to Star Saber. Ideally God Ginrai would end up being about the same size if a little taller than Victory Saber, with Super Ginrai being about the same size as Star Saber and Deathsaurus.
On the topic of combiners however, I'd honestly prefer if after Menasor the team leader went down to Leader cause outside of the frame for Menasor, I don't think there are any combiners that would need the budget. Granted, I think combiners work a bit better as a case by case basis, rather than trying to match each other, especially because if we stop worrying about scramble city style connections, we can start revisiting the combiners that obly really work with themselves (Road Caesar, Liokaiser, Magnaboss [BW and BWII], and Tripredacus)
Posted by ZeroWolf on March 19th, 2022 @ 10:35am CDT
I'm in agreement with future combiners though
Posted by -Kanrabat- on March 19th, 2022 @ 10:39am CDT
As for Ginrai, they could make separate releases for both of them, but a boxset would be much more logical and fit the titan price-point neatly. Plus there would be no distribution issues and a lone Godbomber will be a hard sell for the general public.

-Kanrabat- wrote:Just a reminder that in modern times, class =/= size. Deathsaurus should be a commander simply for the complexity and engineering required. Especially if they want to faithfully recreate the Breastforce gimmick and include all the weapons.

These are good points, especially for Deathsarus (I much preferred the Dezaras name the victory subs used from Metronome entertainment), an updated toy would need to keep a the old gimmicks to match Victory Saber (and include his bfg that he almost beat Star Saber with)

ZeroWolf wrote:I thought God Ginrai was on par/ or smaller then Star Saber (definitely smaller then Victory Saber), they certainly looked ho be a height difference in the few episodes they shared before God Ginrai was rebuilt into Victory Leo.

I'm only saying that God Ginrai should be Victory Saber sized because Victory Saber's about Siege Jetfire sized and I don't think God Ginrai as a combined form should be shorter than Jetfire. Super Ginrai being a bit bigger than Grimlock sized if they make Ginrai by himself about Hoist-Siege Prime sized.
If you make God Ginrai Star Saber sized, Super Ginrai would end up being closer to voyager height, and Ginrai closer to deluxe height which wouldn't really work with future powermasters/godmasters scale wise

And that is the very reason I am most likely skipping Laser Prime(along with the skinny legs, if he had Bulkheads legs it would look great), although I love the original. It looks bad, its lazy and restricts posing. Unless Blitzwing completely amazes me, I will skip him too because of it.

I apologise for the radio silence but we're still incredibly short handed at present. I can only speak for myself but my personal life is incredibly busy at this moment in time, hence my time on here is fleeting, and I think it's the same for Will and D-Max.
