The Megatron that is in the pics is from the TRU Rage over Cybertron 3 pack which has a galvatronish color scheme.

But it'd need a bit more to really be Galvatron. Like a cannon.
Edit: a quick search shows it's going for $50-$60. As much I I love me some Galvatron, it may very well be a pass. Unless it can work with the standard Hasbro release.

Don't get me started on the RTS Perceptors repainted into Soundwaves.
I'm not mad or anything, it just rubs me the wrong way how people are making money off his ideas.

Seriously? Xtransbots is the cheap 3rd party company... bummer.

It rubs you the wrong way, others will say "just desserts". I cant wait to see how much he cries about this one.

Excuse me? Jin Satome was NOT the first one to make a WFC galvatron! There was several people that made one WAY before him.
Thats not counting the several digibash's people made before the freaking mold was even out yet!

Customizations (both by customizers like Jin Satome and third parties like X-Transbots) are only natural.
I like the idea, but I don't see a need for a WFC Galvatron simply because I can't make it make sense on my shelf since Galvatron (in G1 at least) came after Megatron had already come to Earth and gotten an Earth alt-mode.
Still looks cool, and I can't fault anyone for wanting to spruce up an already great figure (in my opinion) with some modifications to get more mileage out of the repaints.
I've got every version of this mold that's been released so far, and they all look great but I'm happy with them as they are.
I'd still like to have a Classics style Galvatron though, but I expect that will come in the form of either an official new product from Has/Tak or a complete third party figure as I can't think of any existing official figure that could easily be upgraded into a Classics Galvy.

I'm thinking of this one:
I too hope this isn't the case and we do see this product. I would take it over WFC Megatron any day. FYI, I too have done a custom Galvatron out of that mold. I think everyone who wanted to do it has done it by now.

I found a picture of what I believe is Jin's WFC Galvatron custom, is this the right one...
Apart from a lick of paint and a head mod which looks like Generations Blurr, I cant see where X-Transbots are copying Jin's custom at all?
X-Transbots look to have created a totally new head and a chest add-on, where the original chest has just been slid down to form a larger crotch?
Those guys have got balls!!

The chest add-on bears at least some similarities to Universe Galvatron's one, while the head looks like it's the one of WCF Megatron's with a triple crest added. It's a neat idea, sure, but I'd like they come up with a more "personal" sculpt.

I'll wait and see.

Top half would work as Galvatron, Bottom half... Too sharp points IMO. Legs does not look Galvatronish. Plus, I don't Megatron from the ROC 3pack, and this would look odd on regular colour WFC megs. Just sticking with the real Universe Galvatron.

I own a Universe Galv., never been fond of him. But I wouldn't replace him with another deluxe.
If they still plan to release X-3, if it isn't too big compared to deluxe Cyclonus and Scourge and to Protector, if it isn't QC ridden, I might get that. So many ifs

I may pick this up if it's a decent enough price, if anything it'll give me an excuse to get that stupid 3 pack.

Don't worry, this upgrade set here is not by X-Transbots or in other words CHMS 3rd party KO division, it's by a different company. There's been a misunderstanding.
This is the one we saw the ugly hand sculpted prototype a few months ago.

Nah like, I'm just talking about the general idea of turning WFC Megs intro Galvatron, not how this upgrade was done, like, while it is nice, especially the new chest and new crotch, I just feel like I've seen this before.

So this isn't "X-Transbots" but a totally different group which is named just "Transbots"? They sure know how to pick a name that makes them stand out

I just got WFC Megs the other day. Thats one nice toy, and I'd love to get my hands on the WFC box set, but alas, ebay only prices for me. Going to see if I can pick one up at a comic con I'm headed to next month. If this set turns out to be good (hoping for a new cannon at least) it'll make a nice looking Galvatron.

I got WFC Megs when he first came out and Cliffjumper to be my Classics Cliffjumper, so this set is pretty much just for the ability to turn WFC Megs into Galvatron. Hopfully the set lives up to the promo pic. Still, it's a great TF all on it's own. Also digging Prime (which I don't have any version of). Gotta admit, BB leaves a lot to be desired. Not a fan of his tall, lanky look.
I was shocked to see two more sets at the Toys R Us I live close to and yet another near my girlfriend's house. If I couldn't find them at retail price I don't think I would have ebought them.

Same here, especially seeing it outfitted on my favoritest color schemes for that mold (I have them all, and that 'Darkside' ehobby version makes the others look less awesome when it is in their presence).
I'm in love with that mold already, so it really depends on how this set ends up looking and the color scheme that they choose, but if it looks good enough, I may get it yet. Of course, that also means I'll have to replace whichever Megs becomes Galvy (I MUST have a complete set of repaints for this mold ).

I think the tru 3 pack Meg's works best as galvy he has more purple the one pictured has to much black but the purple on him is nice but there is just not enuf of it on the figure. I think they are gonna color the set to match the tru version because that was the first figure it was shown on and makes more sense to me but I could be wrong because a lot of 3rd party companies choose the Takara figure to do the upgrades on

Yep, very true. Hasbro was obiously thinking Galvatron with the 3 pack TRU version given the color choices they made.
Perhaps they'll make multiple sets, one for each deco or something.

There's actually 4:
- Hasbro Generations
- Takara United (much nicer version than the Hasbro Generations above, though the color scheme is similar)
- Hasbro TRU 3 pack exclusive
- Takara United Ehobby 'Darkside' version
I've got em' all, and IMO the best are the two United versions. The color of the plastics used and paint apps really make that figure pop, though the clear purple cannon that comes with the TRU 3 pack is pretty cool as well.
