Toys “R” Us just posted their press release for their San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusives that they will be offering at the convention this year! It's already been revealed earlier this year that Toys R Us will be bringing their Masterpiece Bluestreak as an exclusive this year to SDCC and with this press release we are provided a nice Bio for Masterpiece Bluestreak as well as details on all their other exclusives as well! You can find these items online and at the Entertainment Earth Booth #2343 at SDCC. You can see the entire press release here.

TRANSFORMERS Masterpiece Bluestreak from Hasbro®

What’s the most unstoppable thing on the battlefield? The mouth of Bluestreak. He never stops talking and he’s not a fan of silence. He likes the Decepticons even less. If words were fireblasts, Bluestreak would have wiped out the Decepticons long ago. This highly detailed figure easily converts from robot mode to sports car mode for added play, and comes with a blaster that jumps out whenever he sets his sights on Decepticons. This item will become available at Toys”R”Us stores later this year.

"This item will become available at Toys”R”Us stores later this year."

Just adding that for emphasis since I still see people not reading the actual text from the PR and asking if it's coming to US stores.

Oh, and cue the resident Canadians gloating about it already being in their TRU stores. ;)

Be careful what you wish for. While my roots are french (the canadian ones anyway), the very first english speaking canadians were americans who still felt loyal to england after all the founding fathers (except george washington) declared independence). So people like Editor, Shajaki and Downshift would move back to your neck of the woods!

Also, do you know what the CW Wave 2 deluxes and the Reissued Coneheads have in common? They were both in Canada before the US

Also, just wondering, does this still count as an SDCC exclusive if they explicitly say its coming to stores too? What is the point of buying the hasbro version then and there (when there are surely other exclusive items you can only buy there) when you could wait for it to be in stores and maybe eventually discounted. Especially with the fact that the hardcore collectors already have the Takara version.

I think they are just trying to cash in on the "Gotta Get It First" factor.

Some fun news for anyone waiting on Hasbro's release of Masterpiece Bluestreak (MP06).

The availability of this item was quite a mystery with the different evidence at play. First, it was said that MP Bluestreak would be an SDCC exclusive and a web exclusive later. Then it was found on store shelves in Canada so we figured that previous message may have been the the US only. Then it was officially announced that Bluestreak would see a release on Toysrus shelves after SDCC.

And now well... here's MP Bluestreak, found in New York in the Times Square Toysrus for 76.20$ US after tax. It comes from a travelling Spanish TF fan, Technovik who found time in his honeymoon to shop for Transformers. I am guessing he married quite the understanding woman so congrats Tecnovik, on all accounts!

My poor TakaraTomy Streak/Bluestreak is still afflicted by the Nucleon and stuck in robot mode.
I miss transforming that guy.
That one issue is what's keeping me from jumping on the Blue Bluesteak before it's out of a reasonable price range forever.

This is literally the first time I've heard any mention of that issue, so thanks for mentioning it. It's like nobody wants to talk about the issues with MP molds, they either never mention the issues or they walk right past posts that attempt to discuss them. Silly, since we're collectors and we should be sharing these sorts of things openly and honestly. Like the crap red paint color matching across the panels on MP-12 Sideswipe, the ill-fitting door panels/gaps, and the paint defects common on all variations of MP-12, regular and the black Lambor model. Few will even acknowledge that. So strange. And we have a re-release of it coming up for the Asian market (and who knows, Hasbro might bring it here, too), but hardly anyone actually asks the important questions like is the paint application or the quality control any better on that re-issue, or are we just spending the same $70 to get the same crap paint quality that's not even acceptable for a KO let alone an official product.

An I personally don't get it-- A Billion $$ dollar company can't try an keep 2 or 3 Different MP's in stock at all times. I don't think they know how much $$$ they're loosing; buy not keeping ALL they're stores shelves Stocked. God forbid they have more than 4 or 5 Voyager-class choices, 2 or 3 (platinum) reissues, A few MP's it would be nice too see alot of this, Just once on the shelf.

He is referring to the price difference between canada and us. The Price after tax i the us is equal to the price before tax in canada, taking conversion into account. And he doesnt find that fair.

Woah woah woah, let's not revise history. The MP-12 QC was a huge let down when the toy first came out, there was a ton of discussion about it, just a firestorm for a bit. The tight joint being referred to on the Datsun mold is not universally so tight that you can't make it a car again, but it's definitely also been discussed a ton, and again, was so discussed at the time the first versions were released. The perception may be that these things are ignored, but it's pretty far from the truth, it's just that these are toys from October 2012 in Sideswipe's case and September 2013 in Prowl's case, and there isn't much else to be said about it that hasn't been.

In other words, I don't think anyone's ignoring or forgetting anything in an effort to be some Takara/Hasbro non-KO/3P White Knight, it's that nothing's being said because there is nothing else to say about it.

So that makes me curious: Since those MPs are that old and the first issue of them was so long ago, is there any evidence that Takara or Hasbro re-issues will be of any higher quality than the first runs?

Afaik the paint on subsequent runs of MP-12 were better. Not perfect, mind you, but better. Some of the first run Lambors are really bad. As far as molding, usually not much done there unless it's a total disaster warranting a second "Version", like MP-9, though the second version was still just as bad of a QC mess as the first, if not worse so who knows if it's even desirable for them to try

I only know this, the latest version of MP 12 (tf expo exclusive without tampograph) had really good paint apps.

I wouldnt expect it to be better. That mold has been a real let down. I am really surprised it gets so much love. What impreses me most about it and why I wouldnt mind getting it for cheap is it's ability to use the nosecone for the chest and not have kibble in back of it's head. But then again, Prime Dreadwing achieved it quite well.

Honestly, I'm just thrilled that Hasbro did this one in the correct colors. They followed Takara's lead on the paint mask and tones almost exactly for a fantastic G1-cartoon accurate look. The ONLY difference seems to be Hasbro's insistence on the toy-accurate blue-painted nosecone, but that hides away nicely in robot mode anyway. They didn't even bother with the flared wing stripes or silly "decals" that detract a bit from their MP Thundercracker release a few years ago. I can skip the coronation gear if it means I can have the toy at almost 60% off the price of Takara's version through online retailers.

What did Sunny cost CAD? $80? $90? Starscream is the real McCoy, and the alternative (yes with more accessories) IF you can find him will cost $200+ USD. So yeah, anyone who needs an MP Screamer would be daft to pass on him.

Question for you, is an MP screamer needed as much as it used to be? We had the original MP 03 and then Hasbro released theirs and people either bought him then or double dipped for the accurate deco. Then when the retooling of the mold came to remove that thigh kibble, Takara released theirs for 200$ so (like last time) people either got him then or double/triple dipped for more accurate deco and more accurate molding (though people still have their problems with it, I can attest to that). And now while we are getting the Hasbro version of that retooled mold in starscream deco finally, we are also getting another starscream in the same G1 deco (Hasbro was very precise about the white they used) in the same scale and at half the price (lower if you just wait for a discount). So I am wondering if it's a sign that things are evolving and that the need for this mold as starscream isn't really there.

Of course the main argument people always give is : but this is MP starscream. But are we over that mold? Am I over that mold? At that price? It's what I am currently wondering. I had an MP Starscream (MP 03 G) and it broke the second day I bought him so I do need a Starscream in this scale. One thing for sure, I am either gettingn CW Leader Starscream (who actually comes with a crown) OR Hasbro MP Starscream, not both.

I had this same discussion with X over "why would anyone want a FT Quakewave nowadays?".

william-james88 wrote:We had the original MP 03 and then Hasbro released theirs and people either bought him then or double dipped for the accurate deco.
Thigh thingies, people hated it. Accurate deco helped, but people still clamored over MP11.

See, not everyone did. I sure didn't, likewise with MP10. I wasn't that hard into TF's back then and I had MP01 and MP03 (and the accurate repaint) and figured I didn't need it. My first MP11 was Sunstorm, and after seeing how different the mold was I was in for everything (flaws and all). I bought Hasbro's MP10 from the shelf, and MP11 from eBay at a markup.

william-james88 wrote:And now while we are getting the Hasbro version of that retooled mold in starscream deco finally, we are also getting another starscream in the same G1 deco (Hasbro was very precise about the white they used) in the same scale and at half the price (lower if you just wait for a discount). If people want to put Leaderscream in their MP display, more power to them. But they're worlds apart to me.

I don't get the "being over" the mold. This isn't about being over the mold to me. Its the quintessential version of the seeker, and the most popular one of them all. And I doubt that EVERYONE bought TT's MP11 when it was out the first time.

This is the complaint I don't get. If you want Starscream, in his greatest plastic representation, you will never get one at a better price. If you just don't want him, or want Leadersream instead, that's fine. But Hasbro's MP11 is amazing for what it is.

Sounds good. And thanks for replying. It helps me see if it is worth getting it. I was a bit torn on it and your reply helped greatly!

Is there a reason no one has posted an image of the interior box art to MP Bluestreak from TRU?! Just got mine today, super excited, and then I notice the line drawings in the box..

Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus, Unicron?!

To jump in with you Shaj and WJ, I'm going to try to get the new release of Starscream from TRU when it's available. I have the Walmart MP release of Starscream and Skywarp, and those leg panels (moved them to the lower leg so he will actually stand) drive me nuts. I received TRU MP Thundercracker as a gift when he came out and the improvements make the figure that much better. I think I'll swap Walmart Starscream's head to the TRU release, gotta have that smirk :)

Hasbro has been using those since last year and it was found that they were more blueprints of their G1 selves and not indicative of any upcoming MP release. In the end, they are just there to look good.
