The toy is available in Asian countries this weekend or next week.
This version of Primus is basically a repaint, as the Transformers Creator receives no modification.

I'm also not liking the overuse of the blue plastic. Specially the blue omega lock, blue arm cannons, blue hands.
They should have been black or gunmetal gray.

There was no battle between Primus and Unicron in Armada, I don't think. I believe it was a minicon generated version of Unicron.
It's funny you mention the Unicron personality in G1. I was actually thinking about that the other day. If Unicron were a true force for Chaos, I don't think he'd actually say anything. Think about it: if you have a personality of any type, you could conceivably be predicted enough information is available. I think personally that the total lack of coherent thought would be more of a chaotic gesture than any well-laid plans. Primus would then be his opposite, a calm, compassionate, and intelligent being that simply could not predict what Unicron would do next. That element of unpredictablility could generate more fear than any plan.
I know, weird huh?

This will be one of the few rare figures that I'll wait to see if I can get him cheaper.

That said, I did always think the Cybertron mode was a bit too colorful. This new figure did a good job of covering that little ish pretty well, but ended up with two other issues that will keep me from purchasing. Too high a pricetag, and lackluster in the impressive department for robot mode colors.
Keep waiting for a Golden Age Cybertron edition.

Get your Transformer continuity straight son, that did not happen in Armada and you are over-exaggerating it to the max.
This repaint is boring to me...

I do agree with you, but I'm trying to put a postive angle on things. The all silver planet mode with gold buildings is indeed an improvement. Yes there is a large amount of blue, but its a good contrast to the orange of Unicron. Plus its consistent. Cybertron Primus had so many different coloured parts that he looked like a Picasso, or a damaged car who's owners can't find the matching parts to fix it. Might have him lend 2010 Primus a hand or two.
And a couple of cannons.

this one looks good, though. I do like the color scheme in planet mode better. Robot mode makes no difference.

You're saying Unicron didn't need to speak, or convey his plans to Galvatron. Well he did. And to be fair, his plans weren't the most thought out, and more direct, pretty chaotic anyway. Being a God of chaos doesn't mean your completely unpredictable if this god has one major obstacle from becoming the ultimate god of chaos where nothing can stop him, Primus. good/evil, ying/yang, chaos/order, they both oppose each other, yet are driven to always be forced together in this universe. Unicron might be god of chaos, but he is driven to negate the god of order and light....
Plus its a cartoon, man... don't read too far into it. haha. Unicron still pwns Galactus any day.

...but, it's not enough to convince me to spend $100 - 140 on him, since I already have the original. Unicron? totally worth a second purchase. This guy? I say, if you don't have him and really want him, go for this since it's by far prettier, otherwise you're good.

Here's an elaborate list of what Mr. Primus can do:
*He can transform into Cybertron (obviously)
*His accessories include: Omega Lock, 1 pair of missiles, an Autobot Cyber Key, and if you had gotten one of the previous versions, a decapitated Unicron head.
*He has 3 modes: Humanoid, Planet, and Space Station. Highly recommend not displaying him in Space Station mode.
*In order to transform him properly, the Lock needs to be plugged into 4 places during the process: the top of the planet, which will become his back later on, the sides of his lower legs, when twisted, will cause the planet quarters to rotate into position, and his chest, which when pushed up, will place his head and shoulder guards into their proper position.
*He can fire 2 missiles from his shoulders.
*If you plug the Key in the slots of his arms, 2 pairs of double-barreled cannons pop out of his forearms.
*The Lock lights up when plugged into either of the above-mentioned slots for the Lock.
*He has little "repair arms" that can fold out (unfortunately, you have to fold them out manually).
Overall, this guy has a crap-load of gimmicks. But is he worth $100 or more? Definitely not, but if you want to go for a pricey version of the big guy, go right ahead.
NOTE: This list of his gimmicks is not official; I tried to think of it from the top of my head, so please don't start criticizing how bad I am at trying to list stuff.

lets also consider the fact that neither Cybertron Primus nor GF Primus have anything totally different at all, exception the box.
the pics we saw before these final pics of the actual toy differ. This is what they did with Dark Skyfire. He looked like Astrotrain but instead he was all black. Im staring not to like Takara this round, Hasbro seems to be getting it right.
Man am I pissed.

This repaint is boring to me...
I watched the whole armada, energon, and cybertron series right before Botcon in May. I was a pretty drunk every night I watched, but if I recall correctly Unicron had no personality what so ever. Nethier did primus. They both talked kind of through mental telepathy to other characters. And in the end their really was no physical battle between the two. Other characters really called the shots. My only point is I liked Unicrons role in the G1 movie better. He does not need to be a god, just a real bad ass robot. And in my opinion primus was kind of a cheap way to even the playing field for the autobots. Like, lets give cybertron a robot mode...that was laim in my book.
Hey at least I gave it a chance, right ??? Im G1 to the core...

Primus and Unicron don't really fight.
Primus is only awakened to close the black hole that was caused by Unicron's destruction.

I plan to display him in planet mode, getting punched by Unicron.

Nah, I own all of them. 2010 Unicron looks great, but isn't superior to the previous versions, especially not Energon.

If you're talking about his planet mode, I'd agree entirely. Should you be speaking of his robot mode, I disagree completely. The robotic mode has been doused with blue, even down to his hands and forearm guns, sadly. Its far from something superior, in that respect. And it confuses me a bit. Someone mentioned earlier the fact these 2010 figures are getting a real G1 overhaul, but in Primus' case it seems only present in planet mode, his robot form getting a dumbed down treatment of his Cybertron colors. I mean, the gray of the world aspects on this figure look great, give it almost a Dreamwave treatment. But for his colored-otherwise parts, I'd have prefered a take on pre-Cybertron-entity Primus meets what little aspects of Primus we viewed off of his panels in Generation 1 comics. THAT would have been more fitting.

I agree 100%. I just can't get the fcat that the colors from the magazine scans in robot mode had his head and chest the same blue as the hands and fore arms. When I see this now it seems the figure's repaint focus was more in tuned to the planet mode, and not the robot. The blue would have igven him a new distinct look. I want that so much to go in contrast to Pumpkin Patch Unicron.
However, I know some sill get what is going on with the repaint and like it. Maybe Ryan will get a hold of it and take pics comparing the two.

Agree to disagree. The blue and silver/grey on this guy look awesome. He looks like a real collector's piece unlike the previous version whose paint job (like the previous unicrons) just made him look too much like a kid's toy for me (and one with way too many colours/unnecessary details on his paint job). 2010 wins.
