This Optimus Prime interests me... More than the other AOE Prime. Can someone explain the story behind this?

Ah, so Blades gets new plane, and pterosaur toys. A little odd that the former showed up on the Rescue-Dino packaging mural. Between those two toys, Blades is now who our new, orangier Jhiaxus will keep reminding me of, leaving the mantle of "Vehicon Sunstorm" strictly on his decade-old K.B. toy.

Oh, and finally "EPIC" is a class of figure! The only word for that is...TITANic. Show-accurate, and you can see the play value for kids who want the bots so properly interact with the Burnses, but all I can think of when I see their chests open is Only Human, and think Dr. Morocco has packed them with explosives to destroy Griffin Rock. I'll have to see the Bots' minfigs inside themselves so I'll be able to think of Being John Malkovich instead.

man those AoE figures are complete garbage, that cabover prime is kinda cool but where the hell are the paint apps? Im not paying top dollar for unpainted pieces of crap. The generations look pretty good but im only going to pick up skyfire & maybe skybite, not spending a bunch of money on hasbro until they get their shit together. And is there a price for MP grimlock? I still want one but the first one was extremely overpriced & the current MPs are as well. But from what ive seen so far im going to be saving a hell of a lot of money this year.

So many dinosaurs. So, so many dinosaurs. Too bad half of it is T. rex, and the other half are the other typical, overused dinos (and Pteranodon). What I'd give for a Therizinosaurus...

What are the difference between the recently reissued Asian Market version of MP Grimlock and the one that TRU had in North America a few years ago? I can already tell that he's now without the "sticker" paint apps on his shoulder/biceps in robot mode that the first NA release included.

In non-Transformers toy fair coverage, we bring you a gallery and information on My Little Pony and Star Wars toys.
For Star Wars, there are some new things, like the Command Series line that looks like traditional army men figures…but they are Star Wars characters. Also be on the lookout for the Black Series, which will have a new look for fall of this year. Upcoming figures will include a Jabba the Hutt with moving arms and opening mouth, a Darth Vader from Episode VI with a removable helmet, Chewbacca, and many more. There will be many more revealed at the San Diego Comic Con, but for now, check out the pictures below, and click on any picture to take you to the full gallery.

If only the Kreo quality wasnt garbage. They dont stay together... as lego would say they have no clutch power. So no matter how cool they looks you cant assemble them and assume they will stay that way. Instead they fall apart almost on there own.

If they were made by lego, while they would cost more, they would disappear because the quality would be much better.

I have the first wave of Kreo combiners. They were a mistake to purchase.

I fail to see why non TF products should be front paged just because they were in the same toy fair. Might as well front page pictures of the restroom too since the hasbro staff "officially" used it.

Hmmm, that Skybyte looks kinda wonky. I'll need some better pics to be sure.

Roadbuster looks promising, was hoping for a bit more updated look, or bulky, but not quite as shocking as Whirl.

Jetfire has me all tingly, as does Windblade.

I'd say most of the responses make me embarrassed to be a TF fan. I can understand wanting toys to collect, but at the same time people have to understand that kids have, and always will make up the majority of who buys these. Being pissed that Hasbro is actually making toys that.. wait for it... Kids might actually enjoy? :P Go figure. This is the 4th movie. We've all known for a long time that one of the biggest complaints of the movie lines was that the transformations were too complicated. This is there answer. Ya, there not going to work for everyone and I get being upset. But calling them garbage because they were designed for children, the next Gen of FT toy collectors is ridiculous.

Ok, so according to TF2005 this isn't the full line. There will be additional lines that will be revealed later in the year. So there is still hope of more detailed, complicated transformations for collectors.

More promotion for Hasbro is always a good thing. It shows that we like Hasbro and appreciate what they do for us fans, so going an extra mile to show our appreciation beyond the scope of expectation couldn't possibly hurt. :D

I also question of this issue would have even been brought up if a certain girl's brand hadn't been included.

Looking it over again, I was wrong to compare it to the Asian Takara reissue. This one looks to be closer to the regular Takara deco but with the previous Hasbro accessories.

this is true, but a lot of those re appearances where mostly repaints. which i think hasbro will try to steer away from this time around because all of the new figures are the simply designed ones. Using old figures in the AOE line would kind defeat the purpose. That and the sheer number of actual figures coming out, i dont think they would bother redesigning a new simpler toy for someone who isn't even in the movie.

that and i'm sick of chicken leg starscream, though the leader class screamer is a work of art. 3 times was enough using what was essentially the same design, and seeing how he wont be in the movie (barring some crappy resurrection, or AWESOME ghost resurrection, lol) they wouldn't bother redesigning him just for the sake of a toy, i dont think... actually they probably would... but still i dont think any of the older characters will be making an appearance in toy form again.

Because Hasbro, who produces all of these products, was kind enough to invite us to their invitation only event?

Getting tired of these thinly veiled "I don't like your stance on 3rd party" posts. If we had time we would take pictures and cover every single item they had on display from Transformers to Play Doh to MLP. In reality this isn't even really Toy Fair. Toy Fair starts tomorrow, this was Hasbro Media Day.

And all of these lines have had one or more of their characters interact with TFs in HUB bumpers, so they're canonically as relevant as Disney's Death's Head.

It would be pretty cool if they could somehow integrate that into the movie. What if Sam still had some Matrix dust on his hair from ROTF when he killed Starscream, and while Sam was swinging around, the dust got in Starscream's mouth and fertilized his spark to keep it online forever? Or something like that.

Leader Jetfire? He looks more Voyager size. Is he definitely a Leader?

Prime's Evasion mode is interesting and gives away a possible plot point, needing to hide or run away at some point (possibly from a bounty hunter) though why he stick a great big Autobot symbol on the side seems daft.

I'm liking a lot of what I see. Not a movie verse fan but I do appreciate some of those toys. Seems to be a bit of a samurai element going on with grim lock and the Bugatti. I like bumblebee too and the dinobots. Not too convinced bout the huge grimlock but I think the kids will love it.

I also think it's a good idea to introduce simpler transformations. As a kid part of the joy of playing was seeing how quickly I could transform the autobots to launch a counterattack and the deceptions to retreat. As an adult collector I love the intricacy and detail and engineering of the modern toys so separating the lines helps.

Will have to get that jet fire I suppose *sigh* and am looking forward to new Meg's and op classics as those are two I have missing from my collection.

The video game will have to wait till the ps4 comes down in price or uncharted 4 is released.

My guess is that these may not appear until after the main push of movie characters is over. But they will appear, and aren't canceled; why else would they be shown at Hasbro's media event? This makes me SO glad I didn't go for a $40 Swerve or Cosmos imported from Asia.

I don't collect Kre-o or Kreons, but I did happen to see in that display....KREON SLIPSTREAM!! I'm such a pushover for any fembot character.

I'm a little disappointed that Chromia and Arcee weren't shown, but maybe they weren't far along enough to have samples available, or will be shown later. Same with Nightbeat, who I PRAY   isn't a retool/repaint of RTS Jazz who I never liked. Great bot mode, and cool car mode, but he never held together well-his chest didn't lock in place, and the plastic they used on his arm joints wasn't of the highest quality, so the ball joints wore out pretty quickly. It seems to have been fixed with Wheelie.

The AoE toys are terrible and I'm not talking from a collectors point of view. If I was still a kid and saw all the stuff on the shelf, I wouldn't want to pick them up and would not bother about Transformers. The thing is, it isn't Hasbro's fault. I get what they are trying to do which is make them easy for kids to transform but why oh why did they have to start with Movieverse toys? Michael Bay has made the characters look so complicated that Hasbro have had to try and make them work in simplified toys and it just doesn't work. The only AoE toys that look half way decent are the Kreon and Construct Bot lines. The rest would have been questionable even as Legend class toys.

I applaud this tremendous use of snark. Well done, sir.

Serious note: those arms HAVE TO BE mistransformed. They just have to be.

Do you mean Galvatron?

I really, REALLY hope this gets a Leader Class figure down the line. I love that truck mode.

This kind of attitude is not necessary.

True, but you can't deny he has a point.

Indeed, as much as I hate to ever sound like I am agreeing with Rated X.

I mean, it does all seem rather counter to the stated reason why the site dropped third party coverage.

A purely hypothetical conversation:

Sighburtron*: We're dropping third party coverage, because this website is only about Hasbro, Takara, or otherwise officially licensed Transformers product.

Someone Else: But... what about the sponsored news posts that are full of third party content? Or content, official or otherwise, not even related to Transformers?

Sighburtron: Well... They give me money, so they can do whatever. But other then that, only official Transformers!

Someone Else: So, this Toy Fair coverage. That's a lot of Star Wars toys, and I thought the Star Wars Transformers line died out years ago... And what's with all the Pony stuff? Unless they're coming out with Optipink Pieme, I fail to see what that has to do with anything.

Sighburtron: Well... It is official Hasbro product, and, you know, always nice to stay on Hasbro's good side...

Someone Else: Good side? So I'm sure they love all of the sponsored news posts with third party product then, eh? (Raises an eyebrow.)

Sighburtron: Um... Transformers rule! (Runs and hides.)

*A purely hypothetical character not in any way related to the actual owner of this website.

Look, it's Seibertron's website, he can do what he'd like with it. He could post ten front page stories in a row about Morris Dancing for all I care. I just wish that what he allowed was consistent with what he said he was allowing...

Anyway... That aside, and back to the actual topic of this thread...

All of the Generations stuff looks pretty nice! And that Evasion Mode Optimus Prime is something of a surprise. I was planning on giving AOE stuff a miss. (Probably not even going to bother seeing the film... You've burned me enough, Mr. Bay!) But if I see that one in stores, I'll probably at least pick it up and give it a considering look.

Having the mega-thread in the TF Toys section skewers that a bit, yes, but it makes it easier for the staff to post and keep track of it!

We post all sorts of news from Hasbro on the front page (company statements, press releases) but usually from the General Discussion section - these happened to be placed in here for the reason above. Consider them on par with the 3D printer news from yesterday, that should appease the more order-craving of you. :D

Im not trying to come at you wrong cuz I know you in person. But I gotta ask...if there was no "hasbro media day" you guys would have been right there the next day with a regular ticketed entry to cover the fair ? So because hasbro let you in a day early, you pay them back by promoting play doh, mlp, star wars etc ? Didnt the star wars guys show up to take pictures for their website ? Were the jabronies not on the scene either ? I never said a word about third parties in my comment. All im saying is weve all been told countless times this is a website that only front pages "official" transformers news. That isnt exactly an accurate statement anymore. Just some food for thought...
